Why anyone could think Waluigi should be in is beyond me though, he has literally no significance in the Mario universe

Basically, they're just filling spots with whatever crap they can come up with. Since Sonic is in, maybe he'll bring his posse along. Expect Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Rouge, Metal Sonic, Purple Sonic, Dildo Sonic, and whatever other characters Sega has invented. Ok, maybe that's exaggerating, but I'm sure there will be at least two Sonic Assist Trophies, if not characters.
