It's crass and too obvious.

The characters have no character.

And chuck is a blatant Gir rip off.

It is, yeah, but I don't feel that damages what they're going for; actually, I'm pretty sure that is exactly what they're going for and I think it helps them. They're not beating around the bush -- they know exactly what they are and they stick to it.

In my experience, the same is true for most comedy anime. The difference is: the others pretend that they have depth and try to beat you over the head with slapstick or complicated references and overly-elaborate jokes.
Not much special about P&S, that's very true, but at least It's straight to the point.

Yes. Very much so.

Motto To Love Ru is just lousy compared to the original.

It used be funny and have story.

Now it's almost pure blatant isolated incidents of fan service.

And that strange plant thing that rapes Rito's face in the opening.

I watched the first, I dunno, 12 episodes of the original I think... I don't remember any story. I remember the same old "annoying guy is the center of affection for every beautiful woman in the world" bit, the constant fan-service and the ridiculously obscure situations but that's about it.

Now you're saying it's degraded even further, I'm glad I gave up. I normally try to watch anything I start all the way to the end.

There was story, but like only every 6 episodes.

Also it turned out to be pointless.

Nothing is resolved.

Let's see, next up is MM!

I like to pronounce it mmmmmmmmmm.

The events are obvious, but it has an original story and evolving plot.

Much less of a service whore than you'd think by reading the premise.

Really? I couldn't even get past the premise when I first heard about it. I'll give it a go... someday.

Then there's fortune artelisomething: akai yaksoku

I like to call it blandy mcblandshow.

It's just a picturesque high school.

Everybody is happy, everybody is friendly.

Oh wait, those two siblings are vampires.

Oh wait, nobody at school cares, and we go about life normally.

...........what the hell.

Plus, you have the simple-minded hero that manages to make all these friends (mostly girls) who just can't seem to get along with the main woman (for some reason related to her vampirism or something, I dunno) but they'll end up getting together and saving the day.

This plot seems vaguely familiar... oh, right, it's been the plot for 90% of the animes in that genre.

GRAH!

Moving on.

Lots of anime are adapted from sex games, but they focus on the main story/love interest and leave out the raunchy parts.

Then came Yosuga no Sora, which said fuck that, plays through the story path of each girl, includes a graphic sex scene and then time warps back to a pivotal point for the main guy to choose another girl.

At least, that's what it seems to be doing 5 episodes in.

I'm betting they save the main girl (Sora) for last.

While it can suffer from aforementioned obvious plot no jutsu, compressing the stories and showing them all in one series is fairly unique and interesting.

Almost as unique as the School Days method...

I've only made it up to 3 episodes of that, so I can't say much except: "Oh no! Spoilers!"

And you weren't wondering why he kissed the not main girl that early?

No, but I don't remember him doing that.

To be clear: I've seen 2 full episodes and only 3 minutes of the 3rd.

I can't help it! It just seems so... mundane. I feel like I've seen it over a hundred times already.

I'll get to it eventually. It's on the list.
