Soooooooo, yeah, the final one has been out for a while. Just what did you think of this series anyway? Was the story nice and tight? Did you like the gameplay? Or did it just blow balls? Which of the 3 Halo games is your favorite? Do you play it online? General Halo discussion. |

Haha story. Anyway, I occasionally play Halo CE online, and this weekend I'll attend a small Halo 3 LAN night. 3 would be best if it had more than decent maps. I guess I still prefer CE over any others. |

Story for the entire series was a sub-standard space opera, and this is coming from someone who wasn't a fan of the genre.. but i can't say for certain because thankfully they'd allow me to skip most cut-scenes.. Co-op was nice in all of them and it was cool they preserved split-screen multiplayer. I never mind the screen-peeking.. Getting into the series late (as in, like months ago) i preferred the latter 2 incarnations over the first, but generally that's bucking the trend as those who've been with it since it's inception, like Lip i assume, seem to prefer the original game. |

3 was probably the best, just because of how interactive the the story and actual gameplay are. AI was the smartest in Halo 2, and Halo had the greatest scene: the flood's first appearance. |

I actually think the story is pretty epic in a lot of ways. It brings things on a galactic scale, and I just love it when there are huge stakes like that. It's not just Earth at risk; it's the whole galaxy. All of it can be "poof" in the blink of an eye if the Covenant should ever activate the rings. Their blind faith in their religion and zealous nature is something to appreciate. When Bungie made an enemy, they made an enemy with a diehard dream and purpose. They're not just bad guys out to do bad things; they're actually following a dream too, with hopes that it'll come true. They're the bad guys, but bad in a different light. Then you have the Flood, which I can't and won't even get into (so as not to spoil anything for new Halo players). But the fact that the Covenant's "dream" and the Flood's "defeat" are actually one in the same (i.e the Halos) brings new conflict. |

And there are the humans, caught up in the middle. Only at the end do we realize the true significance of humans. |

I fucking hate this game. I want to cockfuck its eyeballs out and watch the brains dip off the end of my pork sword while I jizz on its soul. First of all the conventional view of the Halo chronology is viewed like this: Halo1 Halo2 Halo3 However, its more like this: Halo1 Halo1.1 Halo2 The first time i played Halo was when i was planning to pull an all nighter gamer party with my friend. This was a few months after the second one had been released so the Hype was high and i really wanted to get my grubby thumbs on it asap. After purchasing said piece of shit we arrived at his house at 6:00 PM. At 6:00 AM we beat it. Thumbs aching and eyes bleeding we did a co-op through the whole thing for 12 hours straight and i was throughly disappointed. The game had these seemingly endless repeating dungeonesque levels where it wa nothing but the same thing OVER AND OVER AGAIN. The level design was just pure shit. they came up with one area then just repeated it again and again and again. The plot is an even bigger nastier tasting piece of sweltering shitastic shit frenzy of shit. shit. The plot is very generic and predictable and how am i supposed to take this seriously when all i see is cute little aliens with colorful suits of battle armor and shiny purple laser rifles all the while being shot at a giant purple spaceship with huge penis cannons on it. I can't even sum up everything on why i hate this game so much because i can't believe i've wasted this much time ranting about it. Not trying to be excessively negative but you asked for opinions. EDIT: had to add another shit |

It seems to me you have quite the confession on your sexual preferences in your post. Just need to read between the lines. User's Gaydar saves the day! |

Hmm, I don't see any of that at all. The only repetitive parts were in Halo 1, graphics set a new bar for each of their time frames, and the plot was great. |

You played it for a whole night, yet only did campaign? It's like dissing Metroid Prime 2 when all you played was multiplayer, man. You're missing the essential part. |

I must agree on the repetitive part of Halo 1. Halo 2 was less repetitive, but that factor existed nonetheless. I cannot say for Halo 3 as I have not played it yet. |

Actually, that's kind of how I feel. Because, when I think of Halo (atleast Halos 2 and 3), campaign sits in the back of my mind. What immediately comes to the foreground of my brain is multiplayer / lan / xbox live. It seems more like that is the real game, and that campaign is the extra. Not that I didn't love the campaigns of all the games (cause I did). But the real meat to me seems to be the competition of other people. |
