Let me try and explain this the best I can: CYOA stands for Choose Your Own Adventure. It first originated with a series of DnD-esque children books back in the 80s, where the reader would assume the role of the protagonist and make choices that determined the main character's actions. It's a pretty popular genre of RP in many forums, but since this is the "Fun Zone" and not the "Obnoxious RPers' My-gay-elf-archer-rolls-a-twenty-you-lose Zone", we're going to be playing a very simple version. In essence. it's the "5 word story" with a few twists. The way this goes is that someone (me) starts the story, writes a few lines and at the end of the post, leaves a few choices. The next poster chooses one and continues the story from there. I think it's best if I just demonstrate it: Story Begins Here finally... Twas the night of Christmas Eve, and the streets were empty, save for one or two souls who hurried home to be with their loved ones. Just around the corner of Fictional Avenue, a figure emerges from the shadows. It is... A) Paulus who, filled with the season's spirit, has decided to give away all his possessions to charity B ) Randy Random, random guy who just happens to be this story's main hero C) Descartes, famous french philosopher who died in 1650 So the next poster chooses from A,B or C, adds a little bit to the story and then posts more choices. We're not trying to win any prizes here or anything, so there's no need to write like an English Major. Just don't go overboard with randomness. |

Let me start by saying I have no faith in the success of this venture, despite my decision to advocate it. C) Descartes, famous french philosopher who died in 1650 His ghost, along with the spirits of many dead philosophers, had come to unite this Christmas to determine the truth behind existence. They gathered outside the Roman Colossium to discuss their aims, moderated by: A. THE GREAT AND POWERFUL OZ! B. Grog, the oldest and wisest man on earth. Also he's a robot. C. The high elf Elrond, seated atop his majestic toadstool. |

These topics have the potential to be great or to be absolute crap. I too don't think this will be very successful , but at least it should be fun while it lasts. B Dead Philosophers: ALL HAIL GROG, THE OLDEST AND WISEST MAN ON EARTH! Also he's a robot. Grog: Thank you, my brothers, thank you! Also, I'm a robot. It is time to start our reunion. David Hume, you are in charge of keeping a log of everything that will be discussed here. Voltaire, you are in charge of moderating the debate. Socrates, you are in charge of getting us some fine bitches. But just before they could start... A) Paulus appeared out of nowhere and tried to enter the story again. B ) Giant meteors of destruction rained down from the skies. Judgment Day is upon us! C) Socrates mistook bitches for beecheese and ended up ordering party snacks. Grog is not amused. |

The nonviolent philosophers stood there and took their pwnishment. C. Meta Ridley appeared! |
