[-Species Sheet-]

-Name: Corrundian

-Homeworld: Horra

-Physical Appearance: The Corrundian figure is an interesting evolutionary mixture of avian and humanoid qualities, standing 4 to 5 feet tall on average. They are clad in a variety of plumage colors across the entire spectrum, and while variable depending on specimen, their beaks are best comparable to that of eagles, falcons, and other birds of prey. Their "arms" serve a dual purpose as wings, spanning a considerable distance with talons at the ends for manipulating objects and providing the anatomical necessities for flight.

-Average Lifespan (Up to 300):The average Corrundian lifespan tends to lie somewhere between 175 and 225 years, though, of course, older specimens are not out of the question.

-Protean Alignment (Astral, Nether, Neutral): Astral

-Elemental Base (Carbon, Silicon etc): Carbon

-Average ESPER level (1-7): 3

-Total Population: 128,882,658,583

+History:(History items will be done on a pertinent wiki page)

+Other: "Now with 200% less stupidity and insanity!" Or so we hope..

[-Government Sheet-]

-Name: Corrundian Empire ( as usual, but maybe going for something less unoriginal is in order)

-Capital (City Name/Planet Name): Turanalaray, on Horra, serves as the Imperial seat of authority. Individual principalities and city-states maintain their own capitals as well.

-Member Races: Corrundians, Astrakhanians

-Current Leader: The Emperor is currently Ardan III. The electorate is held by 7 electors, 4 temporal ethnic leaders and 3 Seers, with 43 principalities in the diet. This leads to a total of 50 principalities.

-Government System (e.g. Democracy, Dictatorship): The empire functions as a strange hybrid of two distinct systems. Officially it is a elective monarchy, where members of the noble Principalities compete for the vote of the Electorate. Unofficially however, it is a complex of these various Principalities and free states. Whilst every state is bound in vassalage to the imperial throne, every state also has sovereign autonomy over its territory and interests.

-Population: 128,882,658,583 + 39,338,943,558 = 168,221,602,141

+History: (History items will be done on a pertinent wiki page)

+Emblem:
Spoiler: click to toggle
The Imperial Battle Standard was traditionally used as the war flag for early Ardanian kings, and later the first Emperors. It survives in Imperial vexillology as a symbol of the Empire's total unity in diversity. It has since lost its Ardanian attachments and serves only to represent the Empire in this fashion. It is the supreme national flag of the Empire and no flag is allowed to fly over it.

Spoiler: click to toggle
The War Ensign of the Imperial Navy is the current official battle standard for Navy ships. As it is quite impractical to fly a flag outside of an atmosphere however, the flag is instead flown at Navy surface installations and displayed inside the bridges, mess etc. of ships.

+Military Branches: The Imperial Navy is the primary military arm of the Empire post-reform. It combines the Empire's fleets, and its Marine Forces into a single unified combatant command. The Navy's composition consists of volunteers and levies from the Empire's constituent states, and trains all these personnel to the utmost standards of professionalism. All officers and crews are sworn to the defense of the Empire, and the aforementioned training is designed to shed local loyalties in favor of the Emperor. Navy ships patrol all Imperial systems against external threats, and Marines defend key Navy installations, as well as serving as security and boarding detail for ships.

The Colonial Watch is the primary police force of the Empire post-reform, although it is structured more along the lines of a militia or gendarme unit than a traditional planet based police force, and does have jurisdiction to engage both criminals and combatants alike who disrupt the peace. The Watch is composed of lighter, cheaper craft compared to the Navy, since the maintenance of Watch units falls upon their local colony's industrial capacity. In an increasingly hostile cluster with an increasingly expanding Empire, the Colonial Watch stands both as a renewed presence of order and a second line of defense.

+Theme (Music): There's too many good options for this. I'll find something. Eventually.

+Other: Renovatio Imperii will be realized. You can count on that.

Imperial Starships

Ship sheets are shown using base weapon power/sizing rates( such as with laser MW or missile ton increases) instead of technologically enhanced levels where possible.

The LCV, or, Light Construction Vehicle is the standard construction ship used in united Imperial construction efforts. Armed with little to no defenses, these ships are fragile and are typically sheltered during attack.
Their technology over the pre-FTL era has remained very basic, though they get their function done well enough. Originally designed as support and rescue units for the Sleeper Ships the LCV has only been refitted in modern times, to accomodate a wake drive to keep up with modern shipping.

The Telaya science vessel is the first class of fully functional and proper starship developed by the Corrundians. Designed as an exploratory vessel, this class serves as the Principalities' first true major investment into relatively advanced technology. This class is the one which was the test bed for the Hyperspace Wake Drive and is one of the last hull drafts to be based on the ancient sleeper ships of the previous era. The Telaya is now considered to be outdated by the Navy and is often sold off to private investors for commercial use.

Mespara, named after a Corrundian fertility god is the work of draftsmen hailing from the republics of the league of Krava, who sought a new wave of imperial expansion that would not be bound by the Sleeper Ships and their slow deployment time. This ship's purpose is to transport a large body of colonists from a point of origin to their new settlement, along with all the gear necessary to found a new home amongst the stars. Its armament is primarily for dissuading attackers until it can retreat, and its defenses are poor compared to a proper warship, although it is not completely defenseless. The class has served as an effective replacement for the Sleeper Ships among current phase expansions.

The Kerzo-class Multibeam Frigate is the first true Imperial warship to be developed. Utilizing a dual core drive as one of its technical hallmarks, this ship is designed to use its additional engine power to close in upon enemies, bifurcate them with its many lasers, and prevail in combat.

The Bakatu frigate is a dedicated support platform for the Imperial fleet. The ship is specialized in area denial and asset protection; its hull is almost littered with its large compliment of point-defense guns. Its primary armament consists primarily of low caliber railguns and as such it is not intended for protracted ship-on-ship engagements. The sheer amount of flak that can be put out compared to other Imperial fleet ship models, however, makes this frigate a cost effective bane to any enemy using strike weaponry.

As starship technology improved within the Empire it quickly became evident that the two classes of combat frigate the Empire were fielding were most inflexible in their role as patrol craft, and so with the gradual development of a new generation of combat craft a new doctrine of strike capability was introduced. The Astarias-class escort carrier is a modern base for this new combat doctrine, housing a considerable strike wing capable of harassing targets.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Escort carriers may form the punch of the new Imperial doctrine, but it must be backed up by the bulwark capable of taking punishment. The Kolopa-class Line Destroyer is a suitable craft for this task, armed with a substantial railgun and LANCE battery, and the defenses to go with it.

Every fighting force requires a beating heart to function, and the Imperial Navy is no exception. To resolve the issue of decentralized coordination and control, the Isana-class CNC Cruiser, part warship and part communications hub acts as the center of a modern Imperial task force.

Spoiler: click to toggle

No properly coordinated force will remain such without being able to compete in the war, not just in terms of firepower but also in terms of intelligence. Like the sharp eyes of its creators the Revena-class Scanner Ship is a light but efficient platform packed with a wide variety of sensor systems, ensuring system and FTL sectors are covered.

The latest word in Imperial firepower is expressed through the powerful weapons systems of the Selis-class Siege Cruiser. With a battery of high caliber railguns and a massed array of LANCE systems, this cruiser is capable of putting the finishing touches upon any it graces.

In the wake of the occupation of Horra, the Empire's colonies had naturally lost contact with those issuing mandates and, more importantly, lost the regular Imperial Navy patrols providing security to colonial space. Given the nature of what happened to Horra, the colonies were faced with the very real potential that they may have to fend for themselves. The center of the garrison force they were able to scrounge up is a shell of what the Navy can offer, but it is still a respectable threat in combat and is easy to maintain, providing the Watch with its premier policing unit.

Spoiler: click to toggle

Although the Watch patrol frigate is a strong policing unit, a fleet composed entirely of ramshackle frigates is not flexible enough to cover the large jurisdictions of colonial worlds. While similarly armed as the frigate the Watch patrol corvette is faster, more maneuverable and even cheaper to manufacture, which has allowed the necessary coverage gaps to be filled quickly.

As the Empire seeks to expand beyond planetary society into a truly orbital one, the need for effective security must be addressed. In the deep distances of systems, planetary defenses and the Navy cannot be solely relied upon to secure commercial concerns. Most Watch enforcement units are adequate for breaking up minor disputes, but when swift reaction and abject supremacy is required, effective force is required. The Kolak Police Cutter is a destroyer chassis fielded by the Watch as its equivalent of a SWAT team. Potent speed meets a diverse long-range battery of weapons and strike fighters capable of making any would-be dissident think twice.

When the Empire re-established control over its colonies, it came across the garrison forces which later formed the first Colonial Watch units. Now with full Imperial backing, the original militia frigate design has received an overhaul from the Imperial Starship Design Bureau, and the Efron-class frigate is set to reinforce the backbone of the Watch.

When the Empire re-established control over its colonies, it came across the garrison forces which later formed the first Colonial Watch units. Now with full Imperial backing, the original militia corvette design has been retooled into a more well-guarded model, intended to provide the Watch with a more reliable pursuit element.

The Mavak class mining corvette is unique to the Imperial civilian ship roster in that it is not a design strictly built by Imperial shipwrights. The chassis is based on mining vessels used by a small faction known as the Sovaxon Corporation, who subsequently disappeared from the galactic stage not long after cutting a deal with Armerus Pasha and his merchant fleet. Keeping the old name given to the class, the Imperial Starship Design Bureau gave the design a once-over and retrofitted it to meet the needs of a burgeoning post-sleeper Imperial orbital industry.

Project 'Blackwing' was slated to be the Imperial Starship Design Bureau's first attempt at developing a capital-class fleet craft for the Navy. Although the techniques to construct such a vessel had been in the Empire's ability for quite some time, the actual design of the prototype chassis was delayed and harried by various concerns, and by the time of the Occupation funding towards the project had all but ceased. Following the Liberation and subsequent restructuring of the Empire, Project Blackwing has arisen once more, and the test batch of battlecruisers promises to be an adequate stepping stone into future designs.

The League engineers which refitted the many damaged, vented and deserted Zealot cruiser hulks may have been content with classing the Navy's refurbished prizes under the designation of "Hunter", but the bitter inner command of the Navy preferred the term "Vengeance" as each and every one of these heavy cruisers had played a role in the Occupation. Now under the Navy's control, these ships threaten to issue a lethal punch to any who would ever contest the orbit of Horra again, having been equipped with the League's practical combat systems and manned by those men who know the price of security.

Guilias - Star Fort

The Occupation of Horra was an absolute shock to the Imperial Diet. It reminded them that despite the far reach of the Empire's colonies, the ultimate deciding factor was still the head -- their heads. Their escape measures reminded them that in an ironic twist, space may be a safer refuge than any planetary fortress, given the weapons available to them and their adversaries. The Imperial Starship Design Bureau was tasked with creating a true battle platform, with the primary consideration of acting as an auxiliary government and Navy control point in the event of a loss of planetary facilities. Considerable resources were poured into the development of the Guilias class Star Fortress, designed to be a relatively flexible yet impregnable defensive focal point. The resulting station is equipped with considerable batteries and a healthy strike garrison, and is capable of operating at standard duty for at least a century, in regards to power.

Defense platforms.

Another byproduct of the post-Occupation mindset was the understanding that, although mobile, fleets could only reliably project their influence within a single place at a single time. Both the Navy and the Watch realized this truth, ordering the Imperial Starship Design Bureau to focus more resources on static defensive positions which could complement the Guilias Star Fortresses. The larger of the two platforms they came up with was the Yarasa, designed as an anti-ship strong-point which could rain down focused fire upon incoming threats. With a production cost about half that of the Guilias Star Fortresses, this platform fills the intended role nicely.

Both the Navy and the Watch realized this truth, ordering the Imperial Starship Design Bureau to focus more resources on static defensive positions which could complement the Guilias Star Fortresses. The smaller of the two platforms they came up with was the Rigula, a so called "Squadron Defense" platform. This lighter platform is equipped as a screening measure against light ships and strike craft, mounting a suitable point defense armament and patrol craft to achieve this end at just over a quarter of the Star Fortress's cost.
