What is Christianity? the translation of it is "little Christ" yet we so rarely act like it. we hardly ever catch ourselves doing more than asking "what would Jesus do" when someone makes us frusterated. when angry, we forget that, when lost in our own world, we think we are doing "right" but, what would Jesus do, on a bad day, when nothing is going His way...... and He passed a poor man in the streets who didn't even look at Him. how often do we think of THAT? what would Jesus do for the ones that you hate, the ones you are afraid to touch, afraid to be around.. would He act like you? The Bible talks of us as part of the Body of Christ, to do His will. how often do we think of ourselves like that? how often do we work TOGETHER to do what Christ would have? how often do we say "well, I'm not so good at spotting what has to be done, or even at doing it, but I can get people there, and I will, because if all Jesus could do was take people where they could do good, He would." not often, I'm afraid, and not nearly often enough. The Bible also speaks of us as a family, as brothers and sisters. no matter our denomination, each believer is our family. they are a brother or sister in Christ. and should be treated as such. when was the last time your church service was like worshiping with your family, and only family? when was the last time the children in your church were like your own, reguardless of whether they really were or not? when was the last time you stopped and thought about how those children veiw you as a member of the family, someone to love and trust and look up to, as much as they would and aunt or uncle or grandparent? Are we really "little Christ's"? Are we a FAMILY of believers, who work together to behave as Christ would have? or are we a study in discord, a people with the same belief who can't agree on what that belief is. |
