What do you do for Christmas?; If you celebrate it that is...

This what just a question that came to mind when I bought one of my mother's Christmas presents today. I just want to know, what do you for Christmas? Do you decorate the tree with your family? Do you have an advent calender on the build up? Do you open your presents as soon as you wake up on Christmas day or do you wait until after lunch? Do you do anything special on Christmas eve like drink some hot chocolate and watch a Christmas movie? What do you do?

That's all there is to this topic.

Always have an advent calendar.

My birthday on the 23rd, step-dad's birthday on the 24th, we also have a yearly Chinese on the 24th, Christmas Day we open pressies as soon as me and the sister go bounding into the parent's room at some unholy hour in the morning, though we do out stockings first, then usually visit grandparents who live locally, do Christmas dinner around 1pm, watch the Queen's speech. Boxing Day, Nan's birthday, we go round hers for Boxing Day lunch with the Christmas Day leftovers, then the 27th we visit more fmaily, have another lunch with them. Oh, and the 28th is an Aunt's birthday.

Yeah, Christmas week is horribly expensive for my family. And we have another birthday on New Year's Eve, plus three in January. Winter's just a bad time for the family bank in general, I think.

My birthday is exactly two weeks after Christmas.
So I just play Halo all day, maybe eat some deliscious stuffing and chicken sandwhiches. drink some gravy.
I plan on abusing many peoples Avatars;

I have a religious Christmas (ugh). Presents are nice, but since I'm an agnostic living around Catholics, it's pretty bad. I'd just rather be with my friends at that time.

Same. I would do lots, however, last time we ever decorated the house was when I was 10. Now, its just a simple family dinner.

The night of the 24th, I go to my grandmother's house at night and we party, hand out gifts, eat dinner, chta, etc etc.
Then for the next three days, I go to my other grandparent's place to receive another wave of gifts and do the same thing, except it lasts three days.

This year, its different. Instead of staying at my grandparent's house for three days, we're actually staying home for once!

Normally, it's round my Mother's side of the family for Christmas, and Father's for Boxing day, or vice versa.

Most of the day is spent sociallising (or in my case, not), eating and trying not to get bored out of my skull.

What.
...We got our decs out a week and a half ago...

Hmm, we have another ritual of doing all our Christmas cards in one go on the first Saturday in December. That's always fun.

I do if they happen to be on the radio. I don't go out of my way to listen to them until a little closer to Christmas.
