if this was Marriland this would be an accident waiting to happen.

Good thing it's not!

Let's start this bznz off with the basic question; What is your religious standpoint?

Personally, I don't believe in a particular god, but I believe that something started the universe or it wouldn't be here. And it's perfectly possible there was a god involved there. I just don't know and don't make assumptions. =P

I don't believe in Gods. They were created by man.
Why should we believe one Religion, of which is created and ruled and operated by men, to be any more "Absolutely the correct and only true Religion" over any of the others.

Christianity started after the Jewish, and the Jewish weren't created until Millennium after the Egyptian Gods. And they didn't come around until after the Mayans. And there are most likely even older, undocumented Gods. We're forced, at a young age, to learn about the God that our country believes in. That our parents believe in.

I think that's fucking bullshit. Fuck that.

I don't give a damn about how the universe was created. Squabbling over which God is the real God, and why? That's a bunch of crap. Arguing over it won't make them any more real. Any more existent. So I simply don't care.

If I had to choose a God? I'd say Buddha. The ideology of inner peace, balance and actually being a decent human being and not having "Holy Wars"? Sounds better than suicide bombs, massive expensive churches and not allowing woman to show any skin.

But that's just my opinion. If you don't like it, I don't care. If you have a different opinion, then good! I'm happy that you have your own opinion, but I also don't care what your opinion is!

Out of pure interest I've decided to post in this out of seeing oddbods talk (deg to you people), Personally I'm on a mixed stand point, I would say my religion is mainly hermeticism coupled with Buddhism, Ancient egypt was going a long long time before babylon and actually was around the same time as the mayans contrary to popular belief of the common day person, the "inventor" of monotheism is Akhenaten, Tutankhamun's father, so I'd probably have to say that I believe in hermeticism more for it promotes polytheism that still fits within modern day science as well as promoting the idea of a god of creation, Christianity I find flawed as a whole for it's misinterpretation and frankly ridiculous belief system that constantly contradicts itself as well as the fact that the modern day bible is literally a fraction of what the bible actually is (Parts created by women and parts created by people classed as heretics by the Roman empire), Plus the fact they they stole most of their idea's from Babylonian, and Hindi mythology who stole theirs from Sumerian who stole theirs from hermeticism and paganism so it's quite an interesting look, do I believe in a god? yes, do I believe in only 1 god? no, do I believe that there is a chance that there are no gods? yes and above and beyond all else, do I believe in promoting my religion as an ideology instead of fact? Absobloodylutely.

I'm in a similar boat to George's. I believe in a god, primarily as an observer that doesn't often intervene, and possibly as a creator.

I guess that technically makes me an agnostic theist.

Some days I'm Christian, some days I am Agnostic. It depends on the sistuation I am enduring and how many thoughts I have in the matter. Is there really a God? I guess we'll find out when we die.

Or maybe we won't, if we just die and stop existing.

I BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF THE ALMIGHTY 91A

Ahem.

No, I'm an Atheist, also of the stance that the Universe was never created - it's always been there, and always will be there .

Ahh, and this;

Also my stand on things - personally I see gods/etc as being a means for controlling the masses.

so just about:

"I'm an atheist because I simply want to seem different, and logical. But really I have no personal opinion, so I just go with what I've heard other people say to pose as my reason."

"I'm an agnostic because I'm a beast of insecurity."

"I'm religious because I feel it gives me a sense of dignity and I believe the morals it instills are good, disregarding extremes."

funny how that works out.

by the way, deg, God is by definition not something created by humans. Is the universe created by humans? Is the earth created by humans? No. Religion is human commentary on God. Don't nitpick the word, either.

Personally, I KNOW there's a God. I'm just that sure. Creator? Relatively. He's a force that is there to create leverage, and to hold it all in place. There was always a missing piece in all kinds of theories, right? Prolly it. Heaven is a dimension fueled by human desire and thought. Don't believe it? Dreams do exist, righto? Dimension exist in an infinite universe, righto? Infinite is so allowing of anything to be, so why can't a heaven exist for what allows us to be?

u mad I'm stylin' on your rookie philosophy, brah?

it's been proven that the universe did begin (see: Ein-fucking-stein)

really? Controlling the masses?

see, because I have a fork. Pretty sure it's for eating. I gave to one person and he stabbed me. Gave it to another and he dug a hole with it, then planted explosives. Gave it to another and he used it as a pointer when he was leading an army.

My friend was watching all of this, and he said, "Personally I see forks/etc. as a means for destruction."

you can't have all of these things together, you have conflicting ideals

2+2 = 4, but 4 - 2 = 123098034. Oh, and I don't know numbers one through 123098034.
