BEFORE YOU SOLIDIFY YOUR CHARACTER Glassborough is a pretty large place with tons of people. It's certainly not a lonely place! Before you take the character idea you have rolling around (or perhaps before you start making one!) it is highly suggested you take a peak in the PLOT FOURM. Here you will find characters to fill into families, friends, enemies, or even employees for some of the businesses throughout the city. Please keep in mind that you'll have to apply for these positions (don't worry, you can post in the plotting area as a guest!). Someone might be excited about getting a sibling, but lets make sure they get the right one. The idea you have might not quite fit the mold they have set for their relative! YOUR USERNAME Once you have found the perfect character that you'd like to play it is time for you to make an account! Please keep in mind that you should name your account as your character's first name and last name. Examples of the proper way to name your character is as follows: Acceptable Names: Philip Dorkface John Doe Unacceptable Names: Undrawn user225prettysportsgirl |

YOUR BIRTHDAY Characters are going to age. To make things simple, we will follow the same timeline that we are in on the real world. This means if you'd like to make a character you can use a quick AGE CALCULATOR to make sure the date you choose correctly fits the age you'd like your character to start off as. If you are in love with your character staying the same age for all eternity, you can easily forget to "update" the age in their profile and hope nobody asks questions for now. HOW DO DATES WORK? I know it might sound scary, but have no fear. All you need to do is follow the seasons we hit in real life. If it is currently winter, then the threads you start up will take place sometime in winter. Is it the month of your character's brithday? Feel free to start up a birthday thread. As long as it is around the general time you can start up threads as specific or non-specific as you want. If it is December 2nd in real life you can start a thread on December 24th at 8PM for your character, or you can just start up a thread where "the streets are cold" and you don't even mention the month. The date the thread starts is the only thing that matters. After the thread is started you can just follow the amount of time that passes ICly. If it takes half a year for you to finish a thread with a friend that you started in winter that's alright! You don't have to magically change seasons in the ICly if that thread only lasts one day ICly. |

FACE CLAIMS Face claims is the "model" you are going to be using to represent your character. You may only use drawn images for characters since many will have features and body parts that humans do not. It is expected you at least have an icon of your character. Icons can range anywhere from 180x250 pixels and smaller. Please note that we will not allow duplicate face claims (unless you have permission to use said face claim for one reason or another). We have a complete list of FACE CLAIMS where you can be sure you aren't picking someone else's face. So I apologize in advance, you may have do to some digging for the perfect face! You are allowed to change face claims in the future if your character ages, has a make-over, or changes dramatically for any other reason. Once you change face claims the old one will re-open for anyone to grab though! APPLYING FOR A CHARACTER Once you feel confident with the character you have in mind, you can fill out the APPLICATION. We need to make sure your character isn't too overpowered, that what they do for a living makes sense, and review a few other main ideas. Once your character idea is accepted you can feel free to start plotting away, roleplaying, or start creating a POLICE RECORD (character profile) for them! |
