Reaching forward, he had a hold of the fangs when suddenly a splitting pain erupted in his body, the first bullet hit him straight in the back in an angle. Just barely avoiding the vital organs. His breath left him, the second bullet was taken by his tail, a swift protection of his more vital parts. Eyes glowed and despite the sudden pain he twisted, taking the vampire with him as positions changed. With the girl in front and a dagger to her throat he faced the shooter. Automatically he hissed and growled, bleeding badly from the exit place on his chest. Breathing harshly, shadows moved around him. Part of his tail gone thanks to the damage the bullet had done. “Naughty kitty…” he hissed, recognizing the blonde figure there with the silencer and gun. How the blonde had found him was beyond him, but apparently he had an angry stalker. Seemed he would have to rid himself of this man, there was no way he was going to let the cat come out of this alive after shooting him, twice at that. Well unless you counted the other time. Discarding the female he pushed her towards the blonde, before dipping into her shadow, appearing again at the very fire escape Cain had just been at. From the air he came, attempting to pounce and tackle. Ignoring the pain and threatening amount of blood leaving him. |

Using the vampire as a shield was a smart move, but arguably not enough of one. He could have shot again. Should have, be damned the collateral damage- for one, the teeth would be fine freshly removed post mortem. For two, that wasn't even his target. It didn't matter if she lived or died. But he didn't shoot. Cain didn't fire again because he was stupid, the vampire was innocent, and given that she had no relevance to a job for him it was instinct that he preferred her alive. So when she was shoved at him and he staggered a step in surprise, there was as much relief for her safety as frustration. His target got away, it seemed. Teeth grit. He assumed readily anyone shot critically like that would flee. Thinking nothing further of it in the moment, he caught the vampire. Righted her balance, then his own. "Are you al-" he started, trying to look her over for serious injury. But she screamed, he flinched, and there was thus no real avoiding the creature behind him aiming to attack. In the brief second of time with which he had to react, he just let the vampire's shoulders go. Didn't shove her, but did shout. "Get out of here!" Cause damn it all, if he was fucked either way, he at least wanted to add on the spite of the other creature's main target for the night getting away. |

He had him, but the woman was getting away damnit. Which Yaren would have nothing off. Landing on top of the man he twisted the blonde swiftly so they were face to face, or mask to face. His eyes were aglow with fury and his hand came down first to punch that face square in the middle and secondly to stab a dagger into his left shoulder, so deep the hilt was the only thing that stopped it. Growling he looked up to see the vampire run and he cursed. Bleeding he drew a sharp breath, taking Cain’s wrist in a gathered hand before his other reached forward as if trying to grab the woman. His eyes glowed even more, shadows moved and morphed, becoming solid as one single tendril burst forward from the shadows of the alley. His hand made a motion to grab and the very tendril of a shadow wrapped around the female’s ankle. Yaren drew his hand back a bit swiftly before swiping it to the left and just like clockwork the shadow drew back and then threw the female into the wall harshly. One hit to the brick wall and the vampire was out cold. Yaren slumped forward, breath heavy as he glared down at this stranger who he now. Was so fucking sick of he didn’t even know where to begin. Such actions took a lot of energy, but there was no way he would let his target flee like that. Not as long as it was not by his own accord. Even if it damned killed him. “You really are pushing the limits” he curled off with toxin in his voice. “A shame really, you were worth more alive” he hissed, taking his hand around the hilt of the dagger and taking it out. Drew up and then aimed for the heart, his hand making the motion. |
