Duchy of Poitou-Somerset is one of the thirteen Dukedoms in Serendiluminaric. Led by Duke Theodore Balthasar, the House Poitou-Somerset highly encourages and appreciates the culture of art, literature, and piety. Aside of stageplay, dance, and poetry, the people of Poitou-Somerset Duchy also consider the way of fighting as another form of art, as tales and legends said the House Poitou-Somerset for generations were always led by great and respectable warriors and duelists. Hence, the members of House Poitou-Somerset and their retainers are quite known as formidable warriors in battlefield. Some tales also claimed that one of the House member was included within the brave frontier navigators, who had pivotal role in bringing back Glyphrock from the legends of 'Cataclysm' that was said happened centuries ago.

Numerous bard colleges and wizard academies can be found within the territory of Poitou-Somerset Duchy. Being a duchy where Humans are the dominant race, there is no wizard schools or academies that have Bladesinging tradition. However, there is a small rank of Bladesingers--generally known as the "Indigo Gladioli"--that can be found within this duchy. It was said they were sent by a neighboring dukedom to the territory of Poitou-Somerset Duchy. Apparently, it's only the Duke who knew the reason of those Bladesingers' presence in his territory, aside of the Bladesingers themselves.

Of all landscapes in this duchy's territory, the one particular place that became a prominent landmark is an ancient forest called "Emerald Forest". It was said the forest has mysterious, yet picterisque atmosphere that had became inspirations of many great artists within the duchy. Some old tales depicted that the forest radiates emerald colored luminance that can be seen from afar, which some people said where the name might comes from.

However, it was said the atmosphere in the forest had turned eerie since years ago, and the emerald colored luminance had turned into bluish, sapphire-like colored luminosity. It was said anyone who tried to enter the forest would never returned. Some people even linked this phenomenon to the Blue Breakers, albeit there was no solid evidence yet. Nonetheless, those were enough to make people avoid the forest altogether.

Recently, some obscure words said that the authority of Poitou-Somerset Duchy had some of their attention turned towards Emerald Forest, between other obvious threats, problems, and tasks they currently still had on their hands...
