I think the analogy of people dying is a little over dramatic nowadays. But you're right, if you check out the bible, nearly every disciple proclaiming the name of Jesus was executed... Me running this website is already a disadvantage. People already don't like what I do. Your analogy of the bridge fits in with Christ being the bridge to heaven, said in John 14:6. No one comes to the father except though him. That said, yes, there are worldly disadvantages, death is something we can live with Seriously! 2nd life is there, we have it already...
