Zombie Posts: 13 Group: Members Member #4 Joined: 27 December 2007	Elizabeth: The Golden Age, apart from taking HUGE liberties with Historical Fact, it also had an Anti-Catholic Message by representing the Catholic Church as a huge warmongering monster willing to lie and subterfuge to gain territorial Control. (For a more accurate piecemeal dissection of the movie, I can link you to a reveiw I made of it) The Golden Compass, largely based off of a response to C.S. Lewis' Chronicles of Narnia, the Golden Compass is based on Phillip Pullman's highly Anti-Thiest Dark Material's Triligy. He uses the Magisterium, (Which is a very high up body of Clergy in the Church) as the main Bad guys, and in the end, The main Character's 'kill' God and announce the Republic of Heaven. I read the books when I was younger, and I boycotted this movie. Beowulf, The legend had nothing whatsoever to do with Christianity, in fact, it was set in Pagan times before the Coming of Chritianity to Scandanavia and Denmark. In the Movie, the only person talking seriously of Christ, is a drunken guy taking a leak, the same person cowardly beats up his slave unneccesarily, and later becomes a Catholic Priest. Including a blasphemous line from beowulf himself, 'The Age of Heroes is over, the Christ-God killed it' Completely thrown into the movie for the sake of it. Jumper, in the book, the bad guy was a radical Muslim terrorist, in the movie, the bad guys are the Magisterium, Inquisition, etc, etc, etc all rolled into one. (No, literally, it is) Left Behind Series. I am unaware of any Mormon ones.

Zombie Posts: 13 Group: Members Member #4 Joined: 27 December 2007	Considering the fact that I study and try to learn and develope the art of linguistic Subterfuge, (Hidden Messages, Visual, Literary and Storyline Propaganda), I can say it has to do with a good story, if a story is remotely gripping, or genuinely entertaining, the watcher will become hooked, any and all hidden messages that are communicated via the interaction of Characters and how such characters, (or groups of characters), react to certain situations/events/other Characters/Plot Devices, the watcher can be politically indotrinated in such a way as to adopt a veiw point or change a veiw point. Such Propaganda can be overt or Covert. (FYI, Propaganda in and of itself, is not an evil, EVERYONE uses propaganda, in how the speak, their tone of voice, their wordings, everyone from Governments to that guy you passed on the street on your way to the shops. Even yourself. Its a tool, with often mixed results and a plethora of factors that will affect its outcome on any given situation. Brainwashing on the other hand, now thats evil.) And I'll check that link out when I have my speakers working. Thanks anyway.

Perhaps some personal revelation in your capacity as -forgive my naivety-"Linguistic Interpreter" in regard to the propaganda evident in my list of fav (well known) movies from a couple of posts back-starting with-" finding nemo" i would really,really like you to check for any potential brainwashing. so gallo your stuying marketing right? so what does Mac Donalds sell? BTW Here is some corrections on your movie reviews: The Left Behind series was a movie made for Christian's that showed the people left behind from the rapture because there Christianity was paper thin and they had to face the Tribulations to make it to heaven. If you didn't read Revelations in The Holy Bible (By God Through many Prophets,Disciples ,and men of God) than yes, The Left Behind movie seems against Christianity and Cathlolicism, but really it is meant for Christian's. It was made so we could have repentance for our sins and realize our faults and fix them.
