Personally, I think the scary McNeely glaring at you while you read his posts really makes him very scary. I almost wish I could hack his account and replace his avatar with a clown or something. Maybe he can do that for April Fools day.

If you're not a Christian, then I don't feel that you should be interpreting the Bible and telling others how to follow it. Again, you're free to reply to essays but I don't want you starting them. I strongly object that statement. The Bible is free for anyone to learn and interpret for. Many Christian Religions have different views on the Bible. Like Baptist, Episcopalian, Iglesians and Catholics alike. They interpret the Bible differently. I would also like to ask the question: "What if the person believes in God but is not a Christian entirely?" Are they not restricted to interpret the Bible? The Muslims, yes, the Muslims too. Part of their religion says that they should believe in the Old Testament and the New Testament as Word from God Himself. What if someone Muslim joins the community? Then what? It's like your asking for ONE VIEW only. Can you lighten that rule for members(and future members) up a bit? You bring up some good points that I hadn't considered. Allow me to say that this is a spot for Biblical teaching and that as such is handled more strictly than anything else. I know some things about Buddhism and have read some of the Buddhist sacred writings. I believe I have a decent amount of knowledge about the subject. But I am not a Buddhist and would not presume to teach other members of that religion how to be better Buddhists. By the same token, I do not believe anyone but a Christian is capable of properly instructing others about how to live as better Christians. Furthermore, I believe only Christians have the Holy Spirit's guiding influence. Jews and Muslims do use some sections of the Bible as their sacred scriptures, meaning they have some knowledge of the same text. But they have come to different conclusions. They are in different religions and I still will not allow them to teach Christianity to Christians on this site. People within different denominations of Christianity are not under the same restrictions. Baptists, Episcopalians, Eglesians, and Catholocs are all permitted to post Bible lessons. I am not saying that no one but a Christian can interpret the Bible. But I would be highly suspicious of the source in a case like this, and therefore I won't allow that person to go on to attempt to take that interpretation and teach it to others.

I get what you mean, but, thought this was for the MORAL ones. Interpreting what God is trying to tell you. I would also like to say that We are Jews in heart.

The "Jews" and Islamic people bastardise the Bible to make it fit their own philosophies. The Bible is not for moral guidance, nor even for self help. It is how you come to know God better, and an essential part in helping people find the truth about Jesus: That is, the Gospel: Jesus was born, He was the Son of God, He was Sinless, and He died as our passover lamb, and was raised to life so that we might live forever with Him. Yes, the Bible does give moral guidance to Christians, but that is as a result of them being Christians. Look at James: "Do not merely beleive the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says." Great memory verse, I'll find the reference again. But using the Bible SOLEY for moral guidance is silly. The moral guidance contained inside it is meant to be a result of our Faith, not vice versa. Therefore, it would be dubious for people who do not beleive in Jesus Christ's death and Ressurection to be able to teach the Bible. The blind leading the blind. Hope this is helpfull. Hamish Wood.
