why where you used to run and laugh cant i hear you anymore? they tell me one does not feel the burning alive its because the brain gives mercy to the body i feel the peeling of your skin its my reality everyday should i look for you too? and join them but i know you will never be found cremated againest your will your dust brings no peace for the living was i spared the stench of burning finger nails to live with my ghost called regret? should the ground bring forth green again and kookaburras laugh where they perished? in your rightfull place, why were we robbed by calamity? i will wander for a time and then settle only to wander again but the circles i walk are not on a path upward can our home really be nothing? my throat cracks on the inside of me i am torn to the core i am an open wound a thin veil of soot forever blinding could this really be all that remains? if i lay down here too can the earth take me back? would it be so cruel to spit me out ? yes i must gnash teeth untill i find courage that never comes alluding me as i search through pain for exsistence someone touches my arm and i turn it is slow but i see a twinkle in their eye it comes from the corner was that real or imagined? i search again eyes widened darting i see the twinkle and its shining at me was it God? was God talking to me? this person this stranger that longs to comfort me is like a mirror i can receive their love but am void of any returning falling into their shoulder this stranger lets me cry tears are long ago dried up but i cry silently for a long time no words are spoken or story shared the stranger receives my greif and returns only love their silence my permission allowing for the exchange the trading of sorrows and the return of love. my yoke is lightened my greif is shared and this stranger remains knowingly they too know loss and they too know pain this is all that i know of the stranger this and the twinkling of an eye. |

i just thought of a name-but am unable to edit the title this poem thingy is called- "Eyes That Burn Bright" on second thoughts nah, "Bright Eye" still not right  Got it- the title is........ "the Last Ember" |
