I don't think conrad has a problem, he's just use to treating god like a human. I'm guilty of this too. humans can't understand what a god thinks, just as something with 2 arms can't understand what it's like to have 4 arms. |

...and we can't understand why Baal (the one, true God) made people create the Bible so it would look like God had a son, Jesus. Baal sure moves in mysterious ways

Life is beautiful, love heals, people come through. Reason, compassion and love comes first. Everything else is secondary. Except for Skittles. - And emperor Cheezy!

You can't justify something by saying 'we humans are too small to understand it so you just have to accept it.' That doesn't justify anything. We could say: 'We humans are too small to understand why God would condone slavery in the bible, but because we have faith in him we're going to trust his pronouncement that slavery is all right in contrary to our own moral judgement.' On the contrary, we accept something when we are given reason to and not before. Quantum theory is invoked in the production of electronics, and empirical research, the Flying Spaghetti Monster is not. What you're saying is this: Conrad, you're too stupid to understand why God needs you to beg forgiveness before he'll save you from hell. In fact, we're all too stupid to understand why, but trust me. In my adventures in this life, I've made a few enemies both by default and by design. But no matter how much I hated them, you would only (and quite rightly) think me evil if I were to leave them to burn while when their house caught fire. If I were all powerful, you would demand that I saved their lives. Then why is God held to a lower standard of morality than I am, and I'm the one who is going to burn? Or does might actually make right? |

Sure. That's one way to put it. I mean, yeah, he was a jew who killed christians, but it's not like he made a massive conversion and saved thousands of Gentiles from their paganism. What would give you that idea? |

Because they were the worst of the worst... PAGANS! Lord save the pagans! I mean. He converted them because Jesus told him to go out into all the world and spread the gospel. And now you say, so that's your answer to everything, Jesus told you? And I say yes, then i say, Jesus loves me this I know, for the bible tells me so. And he loves you too! Then I sing the doom song. Doom doom do doom. |
