Ultimate Threadkiller Posts: 1,858 Group: Members Member #295 Joined: 3 July 2009	Okay, so the last half hour I've been freaking out and crying my head off-My poor baby, Maddykins, has fleas. There were a few that i noticed and a bald patch and blood and little brown things that turned red when you get them wet (Turned out to be her own blood-oh!) So i washed her, and the fleas went CRAZY! All around her little butt and neck, and suddenly they all started crawling on her FACE!!!!!!! I freaked out, my mom finidshed bathing her, and now I don't even want to look at her (It was the scariest thing to see bugs crawling on my angels face, you know how much I love cats! Imagine your own child or the person you love most being eaten alive slowly by little bugs-eeek!) HELP! If your cat has had fleas, what on earth do I do? Can they kill her? YECH! cheesy
	At Wendy's one day... My bud to cashier: Hey can I have some ranch? (dude hands her some ranch packets) Me-OH THANK YOU ALMIGHTY RANCH GIVER! My mother to my bro-You need to find a nice girl and settle down. An Italian girl! And no Sicilians! If I find out you’re marrying a Sicilian I’ll beat you to death with my slippers! Administratinator Posts: 1,740 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: 20 December 2007	It's unlikely they'll kill her. Get an anti-flea shampoo. Until then, give her a thorough bath. And keep her outside whenever possible. You don't want an infestation of fleas.
	Note that Cameron is not Patrick and does not run Godlimations.

You do realize letting her outside was how she got them in the first place. And you could always start giving her flea medicine, like dogs.

Death Posts: 1,553 Group: Members Member #310 Joined: 15 July 2009	Keep her away from all beds, mattresses, pillows, couches, your hair, etc. You don't want these fleas to stay in your home. Taking her to a vet seems like a good plan depending on local vet prices and whether or not he'll just sell you the anti-flea shampoo you could've bought at the pet store yourself. Oh and don't panic, she'll be fine. But it will be annoying until you have gotten rid of the fleas.

This Person Has No Life Posts: 4,055 Group: Members Member #48 Joined: 18 June 2008	I cant beleive i am typing this for a cat.....but Cheezes so upset ! you need Eucalyptus oil from the heath food shop or online 100% pure its really cheap Everywhere the cat sleeps (including ur bed) wash in really hot water with 10 drops oil per litre water- let it soak for 30min-kills everything including eggs,dustmites,ticks,fleas etc...its a disinfectant aswell all those types of little critters will die and if you keep using it chances are you wont see them again ALSO get a spray bottle fill it with half vinegar and half water add 10-15 drops of the oil and use it to spray carpets,lounge AND THE CAT AFTER ITS BATHED IN HOT SOAPY WATER.-then spray the cat reguarly in tick/flea season use a flea comb to brush the cat first before you bath it if you can follow this and Bobs your Uncle

It turns out only 5% of fleas are on Maddy, the rest are in my bed.....eww...... UPDATE-She stopped scratching, but I can see fleas crawling on her face;My poor baby! She hasn't moved from the bed in forever, but another reason for that is she CAN'T get off the bed, shes obese. The dudes at the pet store told us that the fleas will most likely latch on to only one of US, and we automatically knew I was the victim. I'm the only one who snuggles the cat (bit scared to now....) And yes, we keep her on the bed. We sleep in the living room on the floor, anyway. Plus after we found out she had fleas and had already been on the bed, it really wouldnt make a difference. We washed the cat stuff like you said, Con, and got the vinegar like ARZY said. We sprayed her with flea stuff and put oil on her neck. She still purrs, so she must be okay. We're gonna wash her again today.

The demona wolf Posts: 454 Group: Members Member #216 Joined: 24 February 2009	Ok so my dog had fleas the first thing you should do is wash the cats bed....Fleas lay eggs and are just about the most annoying suckers in the world. next wash all the carpets then vacuum and spray them with an anti flea solution you also may want to do this with furniture too. also keep in mind some fleas only infest animals....But they are still a pain. if you want to go for organic no bath try Mexican chili powder or any other spicy sort of dry solution and just rub the fur with it.... Some spices drive fleas crazy like Garlic and onion....You can try those too! (the garlic works against Miskito too!) so these are a few of my tips remember to wash all fabric items....Fleas will infest your clothing as well....may want to wash those in case of any eggs... so As a vet assistant in training I hope your kitty gets well soon! ~Zeo
