In my middleschool the seniors get to do a movie, provided by my homeroom teacher. I want to try out for the lead male role, and I have til november 13th to memorize the part. Any tips on how to add drama, emotion etc to the passage so I can win lead role? I'd appreciate it a lot.

By middle school and senior I assume you mean 8th grade.
For one, memorize the part. Maybe not word for word, but get the gist of it.
Then, think about the character, and how he would say it. If it's a thug, talk like you're from the hood. Exemplify your actions by interacting with others.
Then, put yourself in the character.
Be the character and just let the words flow.
Make it so that you would respond how the character responds to the previous line.
That's just me atleast.

if you're auditioning, it's best to be neutral
(more details later)
you're trying out for one character or a variety of male characters?

first things first
reasearch your character a bit -its place in the storey its culture its relationships with others...etc..
you then need to start with emotion
dont try to "be" a character-start from the inside out first try to "feel" like the character feels....

i suppose when you say "get to do a movie" you mean its a screenplay as opposed to on stage theatre-how you audition for each are different

eg-if its a movie you gotta express most of the emotion in your face and not move around too much so the camera doesnt have to follow you around everywhere-if its stage its the opposite-think expressive gestures-think like italians how they talk

*as for memorizing*...seeing as you have to NOvember...
learn your lines first
then learn your cues (ie -what prompts ur next line etc...)
then learn the other characters lines (i have been to Auditions where the casting people just say O.k can you read so & so when you are auditioning for another part)
then practice your emotions....practise your "feelings"
eg-dont try to look or sound angry---->"feel" angry

oh heaps more tpo say got sore fingers....

the one main male character. He's kind of an abusive, pompous jerk/emo type. I've been in the depressing mood lately so I decided to try out. I have to be very emotional, it's a social-experimental-apocalypse move, similar to Donnie Darko with some vorago and I am legend thrown in.

So your motto would be... everybodies going to die, why live?
Or maybe, Everybodies going to die anyways, why not enjoy myself?

well, acting is like writing a story. if i'm writing a sad emo story, i think dark thoughts, listen to emo music, read emo stuff, bla bla bla. so look into your characters background, change YOUR lifestyle to match his, listen to music you think he would listen to, look at things the way he would. also, there is nothing wrong with adjusting your character so you can play him better. add a funny side, different history, and stuff like that. personalize him, add some of your traits and you wont be nervous or feel akward.
I have always been the lead in my plays ;) and youre a very artsy person. usually peopl,e who arent good at writing and art arent good at acting.

Project. There is nothing I hate more than a soft-spoken person acting on stage. You can barely hear them.
My Command is this:Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he should lay down his life for his friends.

Yes, be loud, be yourself, and scare the audience.
