Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - Australia Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Separately, Rudd angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.' 'This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom.' 'We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, learn the language!' 'Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.' 'We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.' 'This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. I think America can no longer consider itself a Christian nation, so I wouldn't apply the things in that letter to America. We have a lot of Christians, but we don't consider this a Christian nation or guide it by those principles. Freedom of religion and tolerance have worked toward accomplishing that, and that's not entirely a bad thing.
	Note that Cameron is not Patrick and does not run Godlimations.

I think it's one of the most hateful, hypocritical (both in American and Australian transcriptions), misinformed, paranoid and self contradictory rants I've read about Muslims recently. After saying that, it is important to remember that the original rant seems to stem from an American Air Force veteran shortly after 9/11 and that I, if I had been a Muslim, would have no problems forgiving such a clear knee-jerk reaction from a man in an agitated state in an agitated country being understandably outraged as he was. Now if I do my best to ignore the ranting and really look for trails of things I could agree with, I will grant the old veteran a point or two. Though it is not even mentioned in the rant, it is alluded to a point that one should not bow down to unreasonable demands from groups that seeks to suppress the freedom of others by claiming some sort of "respect" for their culture/religion/traditions/etc. This is something I strongly agree that liberal democracies should not bow down to. The freedom each citizen enjoys comes with the price of allowing your fellow citizens the same freedoms. The author uses uses sharia law as an example. I would add Biblical law, totalitarian law (Communism and Nazism) and kneeling down to the Elderly Housewives' Rosary Painting Club's demand for special privileges to this list. I also agree that I would consider it more polite and solution-oriented for immigrants to try to be as proficient as they can in the cultures and languages that are present in the land they find to be their new home. This is where many Americans, Australians and Norwegians should take a brief look at our own histories of oppressing the original inhabitants in the lands we once move into before we start throwing stones around. Most of the immigrants I know (Muslims and Hindus) integrate really well into the established society. I also think they should be met with an open mind in stead of prejudice. This does not mean bowing down to any unreasonable demands, it means to treat a fellow human as an equal even if he's wearing a turban. Still I would find it a lot more fitting if this rant came from an Aboriginal, Native American or Sami giving their perspective on it. Edited by Concolor, 20 Oct 2009, 01:44 PM.

And also, considering Conc's research, I would assume that somebodies trying to pull the ol switcheroo blackmail style. If so, shame on them.

When an Atheist makes up something that a Christian said and goes around saying it goes for all Christians he is using a "straw man". He constructs this as a false (and easily attackable) image of his opponents. Passing off a rant from an American veteran as a recent mail from the Australian Prime Minister is just plain forgery. Christian= but they don't follow any of the commandments... Atheism= so? Christian= so, atheists in Norway burn churches... does that mean you burn churches? Atheist= that's completely circumstantial! Christian= bingo. I'm not hating, that's an actual conversation I had one time.
