I must say I have met a couple of people who were not quite fond of the scientific method, but who still seemed to enjoy the God of the Bible quite a lot. Anyway, if one does not need God for morality, and one does not need God for science, what does one need God for? |

it seems one as such needs God to answer for or take responsibilty for allowing all bad that happens in this life to occur........when quite evidently these ones dont need God in the first place.....or so it seems |

Who are these people? And did we reach a conclusion as to what exactly God was needed for if he is neither neccesary for morals nor science?

Ah, thanx, then I get it ![]() Why does one need someone else to take responsibility for bad things that happen in one's life? Would it not be more mature to take responsibility over one's own life? |

Okay, but my question still stands for that one. And not everyone grabs hold of the closest deity whenever it would seem convenient. |

I interpreted Juniour's comment as saying that those who do not need a God chooses to believe in a God only when it is convenient for them. I think that the whole point of not needing a God is that you don't need one even when it would seem convenient to have one. |

it seems that a lot of ppl dont want God in schools or the courtroom or as part of their Lives yet they hold him accountable for the bad things that happen in this world.... |

Maybe they're maltheists. You know, peple who belive in a personal supernatural God, but don't think he's very nice? I didn't think they were all that common, but I don't know that many theists, so I wouldn't really know. |

funny but you have said you wouldnt follow a God who sends his own son to die or "killed his own son" i think u said-its one of the reasonings you gave for not beleiving in a God who would do this....so you justify nonbeleif by what you attribute to God as bad-even tho in this case its not bad-you perceive it as such |
