Sorry but the world and everything in it is passing away....

man can regenerate all sorts of things but the dilemma of eternal life still eludes him and will in every lifetime to come.....

you can compare mans "knowledge" and "wonderfull advances" but there is no permanent cure to death now is there? or the any real answers.

Now death is seen as a natural part of life - whats the explanation from an atheists point of view?

Why when everything evolves and struggles to survive does it ultimately die? tell me please?

Why is greed, rejection etc.. etc...continued to be bred down the generations? why is there poverty?

Why does half the world reduce pollution while the other half lives on a rubbish dump?

Why am i here?

What is the purpose of all this life/living ?

Why do bad things happen to good ppl ?

Why do the ones i love hurt me?

Why do some starve to death while others pay to be entertained?

Why does sex sell?

Why is there human trafficking?

Why do i have to die?

Why was i born at all?

did i get off topic?-think about it-not really.

no cure for death - wow, i didn't ever think of death as an illness but the end of illness. But my dear Arazec, while we may now die, there are people working on advances which will make our lives so much longer.
Im actually going to try to answer your questions, so bear with me.
Death isn't so much a part of life, but the lack of it. Like what darkness is to light...
Not everything does die (there are 250million year old bacteria!) but arguably the reason why things do die of old age is because there is an evolutionary advantage to a somewhat shorter lifespan - more generations means faster adaptation. Evidence we've found from playing with mice ageing genes shows that the longer they live, the fewer and later they have babies. This isn't necessarily good if you need to out evolve your competition.
Greed and poverty - maybe out of lack of empathy for "dole bluggers" - getting and holding a job can be very difficult for some people.
Pollution - tragedy of the commons.
You're here because you're not over there.
Purpose of living? Find one. And then give it your all.
bad things and good people. what about bad people?
The ones you love hurt you because the ones you don't care about don't affect you. Why they might do so - insensitivity?
Starvation - supply and demand. distribution is often one problem,
sex sells because its hot
trafficking - because some people think you can own another person.
why do you die? entropy
why were you born? for the same reason you had a child
off topic? yes

Yeah, see bacteria (depending on the type) don't have to die. Ageing is something that actually is programmed into do (to simplify grotesquely, we age to reduce the risk of cancer - studies with rats found that you can make them slow ageing, but get cancer, or you can reduce the risk of cancer, but then they age too quickly!). Unlike us bacteria have nothing to worry about cancer and can live much longer. Plants are pretty good at living ridiculously long times too.

Having said all of that, the bacteria were actually revived from stasis in a salt crystal. So they live a long time because they can hibernate for Era (And I think I am a deep sleeper!)

@ARAZEC: Short answer to most of your question from an Atheist's point of view: The world is like that because we were most probably not created perfectly from an all powerful and loving God. Reason does not need to be an inherit property of the universe, but can quite well be an entirely human invention.
Life is beautiful, love heals, people come through.

Reason, compassion and love comes first. Everything else is secondary. Except for Skittles. - And emperor Cheezy! Posted Image

Another perspective on Arazec's questions is this. If there were an all loving God who not only took an interest but also intervened in human beings then why is there any of this?

so your unbelief system of unbeleif based on reason is a pretty shaky foundation for unbeleif....

@Condraw- dissapointing :( you mean mutation usually is unbeneficial ???? and that evolution is really about shortening lifespans? wow and Cancer-the incontrolled birth of new cells is really a blessing?

@ARAZEC: If you read post #212, conradw answered all your questions. Yet you only dodged his. I assume this means you have no answer to this question.

I meant "reason" as in "there is a reason why things are happening". A better word would probably be "meaning" or "purpose".

No, actually, mutation is usually neither harmful nor beneficial. But if your species is going to compete with another, you have to reproduce in order to get the beneficial mutations. Now for some species, a longer lifespan actually makes them compete more effectively not less, and in other species, the selective pressure isn't as strong so they don't need to spin through generations quite as fast (eg Galapagos tortoise). Cancer isn't a blessing (and I don't appreciate you mischaracterising my words like that) but it is unfortunately more likely if damaged cell lines don't die out.
