Now if we group the holy trinity (father, son and holy spirit) in to one unity and call it "God". We now have three different types of belief:

^o) say what????? You've completely lost me here....

Ah, sorry: Which doctrine of the trinity do you subscribe to?

Do you think it is one entity with three aspects, or three different entities in one unity?

there is no actual "doctrine" on either one.... there are thoughts and theories.... but I would say and the bible I believe leans the way that its both......

okay, would you agree to the following statement:
"The trinity of the father, son and holy spirit can be described as one God."?

I think the danger here is simplification of God into a sense we try and understand.... To try and bring God down to our level on this point is impossible to do... There is the holy spirit, Jesus (is God's Son).... and God.... BUT they are also ONE.... That connection will be VERY apparent in heaven, but here on earth, ehhh.... Not so much.

well said

in response to the original post, i believe in God, whom i have never seen, because of faith. that is the exact reason it's CALLED faith

Great, now red herrings are flying all over the place.

@redang: Okay, trying again with new definitions. I suggest that there are three different types of belief:

- Human wisdom: Based on observations of the world.
- Human belief: Not based on observations of the world, and not from God.
- Faith from that God-thingy that we don't quite understand: From the father, son, holy spirit or any other aspect of this God-thingy.

What do you think of these groups? Is there some type of belief that would not fall into one of these groups?

the word swiss cheese comes to mind when i read these definitions because there are sooo many loop holes in them that they look like swiss cheese.... you're trying to define God again, (and i know you're trying to say "i'm also trying to defing man") BUT... If many does indeed come from God, then maybe this too is too much to try and put into words.... chech this guy out, this will define my faith.... http://kadence.tv/ .... God Bless and have a great life guys.... With any question ask what the Bible says.... I think there is alot of "thinking" for the sake of saying something here.... Help others!!! This site is wonderful for that!!! Lue i'll miss you the most!!! peace =)

I didn't try to define God, I tried to get you to tell me what kind of beliefs you differentiate between. I still don't get it.

If you think there are holes in my definitions them I'm asking you which definitions would be better?
