Because apparently you're bi. W Conc: While we may share a lot of similarities with animals, we are clearly different from them. If you had to choose between killing an animal and a human, which would you choose? (I know it's a crude example, but..) Rigging the game? Rigging the game would be taking away the opportunity to sin period, or forcing them to eat the fruit. While I admit that putting them in those conditions is a bit unfair, Adam and Eve still had every opportunity to say no to the Snake. Now as to why he puts the test there, that's a question only philosophy can answer. Which is sorta what I tried last time, and didn't go too well. One answer I've heard, which isn't very good, but it's to better display his glory. Which really just makes God a show-off, but then again, he deserves it.. so.. And when I was talking about God outside, the multiverse if you will, I meant that God knows all possible conclusions, and the paths to them, but as we live our lives, we move towards different conclusions. Although, I've heard a good book on the subject is Evangelism and the Sovereignty of God, by J.S. Pacher. |

That I do agree with. But if it were an innocent child or a baby animal? What would you choose to kill? |

You could, if you chose to. And how is it different? A human is a human. I'm not saying either deserve to die, or live, I don't have a preferrence. Merely curious. |

Hm. I'm not sure. probably the baby animal in that case. But then there's the predicament of the child growing up to be a sick sinner. |

Then C'est la vie. That's what happens. but there's also the chance it could grow up to cure cancer or save humanity in a different way. |

Not to derail your discussion (which is quite interesting), but I'll just jump in to answer Lue's argument: The fact that we would be more inclined to kill another animal than a human, is no more to the point than the fact that a wolf is more inclined to kill a deer than another wolf. Many animals share this trait. We also know that we are less likely to kill people who look similar to ourselves. That does not mean that people who look different from us are less human. It means that we, like so many other animals, protect our own. |

True, but something you don't often see in animal groups and herds is caring for the weak, the wounded, the disabled. To some extent, yes, but certainly not in the way we tend to care for the mentally and phsyically disabled. Unless you're Hitler. |
