Detailed Backstory The Guo family was once a great military clan of Tang dynasty. Political shift and the continuous change of leadership had changed the clan into a less renown trading clan. The Guo brothers seek not to restore their former military might, at least not as zealous as the last generation. They understood and have accepted their current role as part of economic power and pursue good trade as a way to support themselves, their nation and its people. Guo Pek, the eldest, still has some streak of soldiership of his forebearers. He hone this talent and use it not to amass military might, but to help protecting the area. He has good relationship with local imperial guards and often cooperates with them. Some might say he is rather bland and not as bright as his younger brothers, no one wonders why Guo Ban took the management of Yinxing holdings instead. Guo Ban is the opposite of his older brother. Skilled and knowledgable in various field. He lacks the physical might of Guo Pek, but his Neigong is said to be the most reliable of the three brothers. He manage the day-to-day activity of their family business. Plenty of rumors circulating that Guo Ban dabbles in toxicology and other deed considered unsavory within the Jianghu. However, due to his reputation as local healer who had saved so many, such rumors often only taken with a grain of salt. The best explanation to the rumors is that he might’ve dabble in the art in order to find the antidote or how to counter it...... at least to those who view him favorably. Guo Cheng is the youngest of the trio, less experienced and a bit carefree. The existence of a godmark on his back puzzled the trio, because after several years, there are no signs of the mark causing any troubles for the Guo family. However, they suspected the mark might have a hand in Guo Cheng’s unprecedented potential in Neigong and Qigong usage. Guo Cheng manage to learn the basic of Taiji Jian, Taiji Quan and Hung Gar in a relatively short time. However, it will take a longer time (perhaps years) for him to learn the fabled Dugu Jiu Jian. Because there are less roles for him to fulfill in the establishment, his older brothers advised Guo Cheng to pursue his own path, thus sets him on his journey within the Jianghu. |
