Yue minority of Tang Dynasty

西瑏 (Xi Chuan), the Small Jade of Tang Dynasty
Xi Chuan is a sizable town located somewhere in the western part of Tang Dynasty. Like many commonly known part of Tang, Han is the majority of this town, with Yue only consists of small communities and few families. Xi Chuan might be known to the locals as the "Small Jade of Tang", because while it is still nothing compared to Chang'An, but the region surrounding the town is rich with resources. Agriculture and livestock can be grown easily there, the small rivers provide fine fishery products, and part of the land also provides ores and such. It won't be exaggerating to say that the people of Xi Chuan are enjoying prosperous life. At least, that is true for most of their people.

The Land of Contrasts
The contrast between the high, middle, and low class in Xi Chuan is crystal clear for the outsider. However, there is another clear border, which is obvious only for the townspeople themselves; social border between Han and Yue. Han is practically dominating in this town, either in power, influence, and other political matters. Even the highest standing Yue clan in this land has little to nothing when it comes to control or influence, even the tiny bit of the town.

Low-to-middle class of Yue had worse condition, as their role in this town society never goes far from being 'entertainers' for their Han counterparts. The most fortunate ones, especially the women, could be taken as the town officer's concubines, but that would be highest 'position' they could reach. The highly regarded clans of Yue had tried to protect and defend the lower classes of Yue people from the Han's 'oppression', but most of their efforts went in vain.

Tales of Guan Family of Yue
It's not like the the people of Yue were satisfied with this condition. Among them is the Guan Family, one of the highly renowned Yue family in Xi Chuan. This family was known as the most vocals within the small communities of Yue. However, even with their withstanding, there is nothing the Guan Family could do to face the domination of Han, at least not in this town. The heir of Guan Family, Guan Teng, always dreams about building a place where Yue people of Xi Chuan can have a better and independent life, not being controlled by others.

Such ambition has emerged far from previous heads of Guan Family, but none of them were able to make it happened. It was either the Han's interference which never allowed such event from happening--or the previous heads felt the obligation to withstand their position and defend people of Yue in Xi Chuan. Even for Guan Teng himself, his future bold decision to leave everything behind and chase the dream will never had occurred, if not for the unfortunate events which befallen to his close acquaintances.

Tales of Lu Sisters of Yue
Unlike the Guan Family, the Lu family was mostly known by the townsfolk, officials and commoners alike, as the Xi Chuan's most treasured artists. Their theater in the town's square is known as one of the town's treasure. Being treated in such way, members of Lu family was regarded as the most fortunate amongst the lower class of Yue people in Xi Chuan. From generation to generation, the officials of Xi Chuan were not dare to touch the family, as doing so would also mean waging war against the rest of parties which also held the power within the town. Aside of that, it was rumored that Lu family also had quite close connection with Guan family.

However, incidents befell this family in some recent years. The worst started from few years ago, when their theater building suddenly razed by fire. Later, another unfortunate followed by the sudden death of Lu's family head and his wife in quite recent time ago. And for the most recent one, another rumor said the youngest of Lu sisters was stricken by severe illness. Those unfortunate chain of events coincidentally started to occur after Lu family taken in an orphan, making more unpleasant rumors about them to circulate within Xi Chuan.

Nonetheless, despite of those rumors, several town officials started to lay their eyes upon the struggling remains of Lu family; now only consisted of the fair maidens of Lu, known as the Lu Sisters. Each of the officials carefully devising and plotting various schemes to claim the beauties under the guise for 'restoring Xi Chuan's pride and treasure'...

Recent Events
However, before any of those scheme could take place, the people of Xi Chuan was shocked by a surprising and unexpected news. The young and new head of Guan Family, Guan Teng, declared that he has taken the Lu Sisters as his mistresses. The officials of Xi Chuan were enraged by this news, and tried to exile and get rid of the Guan Family. Already prepared for this situation beforehand, Guan Teng immediately took the Lu Sisters and most his family's assets out from Xi Chuan, making him loathed by the Han of Xi Chuan for his greediness and cowardice, while also condemned by the Yue of Xi Chuan for leaving his people.

Nonetheless, these young people of Yue already set their mind to their goal and determined to fulfill them, whatever the cost is. Using the talents and expertise of Lu Sisters, they decided to make a travelling theater group as their identity, as they wander into the untamed world of Jianghu.

Unbeknownst to the group, though, there is one person amongst them who was struggling to hide the [Godmark] which suddenly appeared on their body, far before the journey started...
