The sound of a motorcycle disturbed the relative peace of the quiet neighborhood where the shop, Gigun-Z rested. The day was clear but cold. Fresh snow still lingered on the ground from a previous night's snowfall. The local highschool had just gotten out but Aida had ditched today anyway so it wouldn't have mattered to him. The sleek black motorcycle he rode on caused his jacket to blow in the wind. On days like today he just couldn't help but feel somewhat morose. It was the weather. It clear but cold. This sort of in between state that bothered him. He was someone who believed in absolutes. Give him a clear, warm, blue day or a cold snowstorm. Why was he even bothering to come out of his comfort zone to some hole in the wall shop run by a bunch of nobodies? Well... apparently there was a kid there that was a fan. As much of a grump and antisocial bastard that he was he wasn't the type to say no to a fan. When one of his friends told him that a young boy and his sister frequently visited the shop she worked at Aida felt obligated to make a public appearance. Normally he shopped at G Muse whenever he needed parts for whatever new project he was working on but today he'd come to Gigun-Z under the pretense of shopping in order to surprise a young fan. He had to admit he'd probably wouldn't have agreed if the boy didn't have a little sis like he did. It tugged on his heart more than a little. Ayame... he thought as turned down the street where the shop sat. He heard of the hobby shop and pictured it'd be this tiny run down ass shit shack but it was actually quite sizable. He couldn't help but whistle a little as he parked and locked his ride up. He was wearing his usual attire, black like his motorcycle. A sleek black longcoat and a navy hoodie underneath with tan pants and black boots. The word's "Dog Eat Dog" were emblazoned on the hood of the hoodie. Since earning the nickname "Black Dog" Aida fully embraced the canine imagery associated with him and taken to wearing a leather choker complete with a silver paw tag. He pretty much stood out like a sore thumb when he walked into the shop. He stuck out even more when he called out, "Oi, I'm looking for Tsubasa, is he around?" From out behind one of the shelves a young boy, no older than eleven, with messy brown hair poked his head out shyly. Aida didn't need any hints to know that this was the kid. So he just walked over to him, knelt down, and spoke as if it wasn't a thing in the world that one of the regional champions was here in this little shop just for him. "Yo, I heard you were a fan so I came by to see you. My friend who works here says you've been asking around for lessons. If you're cool with it I can teach you a thing or two about gunpla battling" Aida gave the boy a warm smile and the boy's eyes lit up. He was so happy to meet his idol that he just stammered incoherently and could only nod in response. For most of the rest of the afternoon Aida rented out the store's gunpla battle machine and used it to teach his fan lessons. It was the first time he had done anything like this. He wasn't really use to it. Most people tended to fanboy and fangirl over Ayame, the real brains of the "Twin Fangs" and not him. He was just the "pilot". He made her gunpla move but she was the one who made them. She was the real world class gunpla celebrity. He was just second class in his mind. Of course Aida had no way of knowing what strange circumstances would happen upon him today. He had no way of knowing what this little visit would lead to. |

"Wow! He's so amazing!" A girl proclaimed as the window view of the stores Gunpla Battle Deck was crowded around by many teenage and preteen girls. It seemed word had gotten out that a young gunpla star was in the neighborhood and of course the battle-groupies flocked. Sighing to himself as he swept the store, Matteo Salvatore found all of the activity great for the store but for all of that said activity - so much more work. It didn't help anything that his co-workers were off shopping, leaving him to tend to the store pretty much by himself. Sure it wasn't their fault - not like they knew this was going to occur - but it was still bothersome that it cut into his building time for the Serafino. With the tournament not too far off, Matteo needed more time to fine-tune the Serafino and work out some of his ideas into the frame itself. But with days like today, there really wasn't anytime and so the teenager spent most of the day cleaning the shop, selling the kits and stocking the shelves. All in all, it was a profitable experience for the store and a day that went by fast thanks to the activity. As the day drudged on, the store had quieted down considerably and it was around this time Matteo finally had a moment to himself to see what all the fuss was about. Still standing at the window was a younger girl watching intently. A wide smile on her face as she admonished from afar. Matteo smiled, while he may of disliked the extra work it was always great to see people fall in love with Gunpla for their own reasons. Standing next to her he peered into the room. The young boy was picking up on the basics quickly and his teacher - dressed in all black - seemed content. The Gunpla on the other-hand, Matteo caught sight of. His eyes widened for the moment and it was at this point the two seemed to be done. The Gunpla the "Celebrity" had brought with him, it was - "Thank you!" Called out the sister as her and her brother thanked the young gunpla star for taking time out of his day to teach her baby brother the basics. The two made the air warm and inviting as they left - leaving just Matteo, his Boss and the Gunpla Kid. As he began to help clean-up the rental room he softly spoke out to the young man - though he didn't intend for him to respond or hear him...but the room was small and sound filled it. "Your gunpla is crying...sad..." |

Teaching turned out to be a lot harder than he thought it would be. Not because the kid wasn't a natural. No, it was his OWN inexperience in doing so that made it trying. He had simply been a natural so he had no real wisdom to impart beyond not thinking and just feeling the machine. Luckily for him Tsubasa was a naturally like himself. Even though the boy was just using a straight assembly he built that day he could pilot it like someone who had many more months of experience. It made Aida smile genuinely. The next generation was in good hands. Hell, if he didn't watch out the boy might one day challenge and beat him! He even told him as much which made Tsubasa beam. Just the thought of going toe to toe with his idol on even grounds was enough to instill a fierce desire in the boy to train hard and one day challenge him. Aida was happy to oblige. The hours went by and eventually they had to stop because it was getting late. Tsubasa waved the boy off and watched the elder of his two sisters pick him and his younger sister up. She was kind of pretty but Aida wasn't about to hit on his new protegee's older sister. That wasn't cool in his book. Instead he sort of just collapsed and slid down against the wall in exhaustion from training the overly exuberant Tsubasa. Yes, he certainly wasn't use to this sort of thing but it wasn't unpleasant. Maybe he'd set a full on tutoring service through the store? He'd probably have to clear it with the store manager and see what Mizumi thought of it. Man oh man was he beat though. So much so he didn't notice that he had another guest. Not until the older teen spoke. Aida could only somberly nod in agreement, "The Yojimbo's incomplete. That's probably why." |

Matteo listened to the words the "tutor" spoke. His demeanor wasone of loss and morbid sadness...like a puppy who had lost its master. He heard the excuse, the Yojimbo's incomplete. Scoffing, Matteo put his broom aside and walked to the small refridge unit that they held for drinks and other gunpla related snacks. Grabbing two soft-drinks, Matteo tossed one to the young man and nodded before opening his drink and draining it. It had been a day, Mizumi and Asami both still shopping and the Boss-man out of the shop leaving Matteo in charge. Sighing, he placed his drink down and stared hard at the young mans Gunpla. "Yojimbo doesn't cry because it's incomplete. It cries because the pilot isnt understanding its feelings. It screams for attention and understanding." Drinking his pop again, the Italian spoke in a mocking tone. "Maybe your just a bad builder." Shrugging, Matteo went to go back to work. Little did he know that Aida was a former combatant on the global scale. Little did he know that his sister was the true artist responsible for the masterpiece before them. Matteo didn't know anything about this guy, just that he seemed lost and pathetic and his Gunpla with its hasty repairs and scratched up finish spoke of someone with no clue on what they were doing. Matteo hated that and it was known he was a bit gruff around the edges for people of similar variety in a hope that it would snap them out of their funk. It was the italian way! Yet...it didn't always work. |

Aida shrugged. Despite those being fighting words they were true. He had nothing to refute it with. He was a shitty builder. So he merely caught the offered soda, cracked it open, and drank slowly and silently. It was awhile before he spoke, "Yeah, I was only able to hastily slap together some outer bits for the Yojimbo. I don't have the skill to finish what my sis started." With another shrug he just nodded in agreement. "As far as builders go I'm pretty shit. My sister though? She put together the Yojimbo's skeletal frame. I couldn't even hope to match her skill. She was one of a kind heh." Aida downed the can and slammed it against his knee. "Building ain't my forte anyway. I'm more of a fighter. Name's Aida, Tsukuro Aida. I'm the Kansai regional champion. One of anyway. The other's a hardcore builder from that gunpla school. Heard he took part in the team based under 19 division. I'm the regional champ of the solo league. Not to brag about it or anything. I'm just the pilot. Couldn't have done it without my sister Ayame" Aida's words would normally sound cocky but there was something in his eyes. That mournful look was slowly being replaced by a flame. A tiny spark of passion and zeal shone through the darkness. "What about you? You must be pretty good yourself if you can shittalk like you've been. What do you say? Wanna throw down?" |

Matteo listened to him express his expertise being beyond underwhelming in the style of building but it wa how he referred to the word Sis that caught his attention. It was an inflection - a pause of desire and concern as well as loss..all in one word. Staring hard at the other for quite a period - Mattoe finally shrugged and finished his drink. Of course, that was before the introduction of whom he was caught his ears. "You must've loved your sister alot. I can hear it in your voice. As they say in Japan - a persons love must trancend all things. Still - Let us take to a bout. I don't care I just don't think you understand the amout of loss you're going to feel when Ibreak that flimsy thing into pieces." With that he turned his back to Aida and walked into the battle-room. His hand grasped his GP Base and Gunpla and he took his position on the other side. He wasn't impressed by what he saw both on the model and in his words. In short, he felt as if the young man was just floating in life at this point with no purpose. That meant he was merely a rabid dog... |

"I do. Some day she's going to wake up and I'll be able to show her the world trophy I got using her designs" there was a bit of wistfulness to Aida's voice. It was unlike the tone he took before. He also, most importantly, likely debased Matt of the notion that he was sad because his sister was dead. She wasn't, she was just in a coma and had been for a little over a year now. She would wake up someday and he made it his goal to be truly worthy of her skills by then. Her gunpla building skills were great enough that she had been called the second coming of Iori Sei. A fact that Aida would bring up when he decided to get a bit nasty. Instead of getting in Matt's face about it Aida shrugged off the older boy's taunts. Normally he'd get riled by it but he was in an exceptionally good mood thanks to his tutoring lesson. Nothing made him happier than helping out the next generation of builders and fighters. "Awfully big words there for such a little man. If you think you can break the gunpla built by the girl called the second coming of Iori Sei then you're welcome to try." Aida followed Matt and took his position up at the battle table. "Come and test your mettle against one of the Twin Fangs, Aida the Black Dog!" NOW he was fired up. |
