![]() The Suginami Community Center; while its entrance had not changed in over a decade, countless additions to the building over the past few years have seen the community center expand and add areas for a multitude of activities. Now bustling with activity on a daily basis, the Community Center was home to several tournaments, from simple indoor sports to games requiring ones mind to master. One such activity was taking place for one of the many types of competitions it has room for today; one that had helped breath new life into the community center. Announcer-san stood at the simple automated entrance of the building, microphone in hand with a camera crew with their van on standby near her. People were steadily filing into the building to get to their seats, waiting to watch today's event unfold. The announcer herself seemed just as excited, if not more so; she was a total Gunpla otaku after all! "Uwahh! There's certainly more people than last year's event! I guess people are itching to see some new blood spilled today!" the announcer shouted in a loud voice, a slightly creepy laugh following soon after her blood comment. She had wanted to participate too, as she technically had not been playing Gunpla Battle for that long... however events that had taken place over the past two years had made Yajima prevent her from doing such. She let out a sigh knowing she wouldn't be able to participate today... though there would be other opportunities in the future! "Oi, Aneki; we're gonna start shooting soon, get ready!" one of the standby crew shouted from the nearby van. That was Announcer-san's queue to stiffen up. Brushing her hair in place with her hand, her eyes seemed to light up as the camera was leveled in her direction. The red light turned on to indicate the broadcast was about to begin, with the cameraman holding up his fingers in a "3, 2, 1~!" action. Soon enough the cameraman gave the go-ahead, as the live broadcast began. "Hi there! Your friendly Gunpla Announcer-san is here today once again to bring you the fourth annual Beginner's Tournament! Today is a great day, as you can clearly say, as many people are slowly but surely filing into the Suginami Community Center here behind me where the tournament is being held." She let out a smile, as some of the people in the crowd behind her waved towards the camera or shouted out her name. Turning around to wave back at those behind her, her cheery tone continued to pick up as her Gunpla fervor began to spike. "Today there is a whopping 42 participants currently attending the Beginner's Tournament! That's a considerable increase from last year's participation list! Gunpla has never been more popular than ever! We're bound to see some great talent emerging this year!" she shouted, turning back to face the camera with a smile. "The tournament will start within the next hour! If you're unfortunately unable to attend, stay tuned while your friendly global broadcaster GTVN broadcasts the event live, straight to you! I'll be seeing you all again once the tournament starts! ...Back to you Kushieda-san!" |
