Saturday was without a doubt Misaki's favorite day of the week for several reasons. Their private academy only held classes from Monday to Friday which allowed her to do full house maid work during the weekends, a part time profession that her demanding parents practically forced upon the teenager since last year or so. The house she worked with was located in one of Tokyo fancy neighborhoods and on her way home she could take a trip trough Akihabara. One of the perks of working part time was of course she was getting paid for the services she provided to these influential wealthy families. Surely her parents could afford to give Misaki a healthy allowance yet her mother always expected the young lady to be able to stand on her own and learn the real value of work. As the sun set Misaki walked trough the side walk going slightly off route so she could take a quick look at one of the many hobby shops located in the bustling shopping district. Unlike G-muse this store specialized in non Gundam model kits, mostly military vehicles and other mecha anime robots and toys. From what she'd seen some participants in the tournaments had really cool kit bashs so the curious teenager wondered if she could use her new found modeling skills to try an original design and maybe pick some souvenirs for her gunpla club friends. |

Yuuka let out a quiet sigh as she looked down towards her own shadow, it was Saturday so there were no classes and none of her part time jobs had needed any help so she had found herself with nothing to do. Though that didn't really last long, she had gotten bored sitting at home so her parents had decided to kick her out for the day to stop her complaining. Luckily she had just been paid from her various jobs and had also received her allowance so she had a hefty amount of cash tucked away in her wallet. As such she had decided to take a trip to Akihabara and was currently walking down the sidewalk as she had ditched her car not too long ago in favor of walking so she didn't miss any interesting shops. In order to avoid the crowds though she had taken a less occupies route, one that would lead her to what she had heard was a fairly interesting shop that from what she had heard would hopefully make for some good souvenirs. Anyways she looked up just in time to see someone else following her route, and what was more was that they seemed to be headed in the same direction. Suddenly her natural shyness gave way for her curiosity and instead of keeping a fair distance as she normally would have done she found herself speeding up her pace to catch up with this stranger, though she wasn't speaking yet, simply observing. |

There was so many people walking trough the streets that there was no way Misaki could have been able to tell she was being followed. The cheerful girl was very absorbed thinking on the gifts she would take to her Gunpla club friends a small consolation gift for Miss Sia would have been appropriate and maybe a new set of modeling tools for Mei Ling which she could use to further improve her GM Sniper after her tournament adventure ended in a disappointing draw. The store was aptly named 'Akibahara Hobby Town' and while Gundam models where part of the line up there was only a small aisle dedicated to Gunpla as opposed to G-muse . The rest of the store specialized on bigger scale Radio controlled aircraft, Train sets and even western table top miniatures such as Dungeon and Dragoons, Warhammer and Battle tech to name a few. " Hello and welcome" There was a middle aged couple talking at the register who greeted Misaki with certain familiarity. The woman was a fellow japanese wearing her purple hair in a ponytail, the man looked like a westerner of medium complexion. judging by their matching weeding rings those two where married. " Bussines as usual." Replied Misaki with a wide smile already making her intentions clear she was here to spend some of her hard earned money. After the initial greeting exchange Misaki ventured deeper into the store arriving at the section opposite to the Gundam shelves, her eyes scanning the diverse aircraft model kits that ranged from Biplanes of the great war to modern Jet powered aircraft. One of her friends Miss Sia Gloster was an avid aerospace enthusiast with a knack for World War II propeller planes. Unlike Bandai's Gundam kits these neded much more effort since the plastic was one tone all around and the construction required extensive use of glue. |

Yuuka was beginning to get a bit nervous as she followed the girl down the street, she had been fairly successful at tuning out the crowds so far but it was getting to the point where she couldn't really ignore them any longer and it was taking all her willpower not to just run the other way screaming. However she knew that she couldn't go home yet and she had to get over this fear that she had of large crowds eventually so she pressed on. THis would prove to be a good experience for her. She couldn't help a small smile as she reached the store and saw the name on the sign, it was certainly aptly named, that was much for sure. Well that's one way to name a shop I suppose. Now let's just see what kind of stock they have. She was certainly impressed at what she initially saw as she walked through the doors and took a quick look around. She could see that there was only a small aisle dedicated to Gunpla but she could get that back at G-muse so it didn't bother her much, no she was here to see what else was available. She gave a short greeting to the couple at the register, just to be polite, and began a venture deeper into the store, looking around as she passed through, her eyes eventually falling onto a diverse set of aircraft model kits at the other end of the store. Now there was something interesting, her dad had told her a lot about the different types of aircrafts and the models that he had built over the years and she had to admit that since building her Gunpla she had gained an interest in the hobby herself. With that she went to browsing the selection, though she couldn't help but notice out of the corner of her eye that the girl from before was present in the same area. Coincidence? Yep, completely. |

While browsing the section dedicated to combat aircraft of the second world war a single model stood out from the rest. The artbox displayed a lean and menacing bird of steel soaring above a chaotic landscape. It was the JU-87 'Kanonenvogel' or Cannon Bird belonging to the Eagle of the Eastern Front Hans Ulrich Rudel. Immediately Misaki pictured those large caliber guns on the REGZ sub flight system. according to the specification on the box these where exclusively used to hunt and destroy the unrelenting tide of Soviet tanks that swept across Eastern Europe during the last years of the war. There where also a few more features included on the kit since it was a limited edition off sorts. upon opening the box to check the contents the teenager was pleased to see the scale of each Gunpod matched the REGZ, though sh would have to do some minor modifications in order to fit the lethal contraptions under the wings of her own Gunpla kit. " Yes this is what i've been looking for." It was fortunate the kit was on sale as if the hand of destiny guided her to this point in time. After a brief budget estimate Misaki deducted she could still pick something else to further improve the REGZ and still be able to afford gifts for her friends. While turning her head to see what else was on display Misaki caught a glimpse of another young lady browsing the store. Appearently modelling hobbies where more popular than ever with the female sector. |

As she browsed Yuuka found herself picturing the ways that she could possibly customize her Gunpla. At some point she had to further customize it and seeing these different aircrafts gave her plenty of different ideas to implement later on. Pausing in her browsing a moment she pulled out her wallet and began counting her cash, letting out a quiet sigh as she closed her wallet and put it away. She had just enough to buy a kit. Unfortunately most of these kits seemed to be a bit costly so she would likely only be able to afford one if she wanted to have money left over so she had some careful considerations to make. Her gaze turned back to the models, her lips pursed as she considered what she wanted, her mind going back to what her dad had told her about the different types of aircraft used in the wars of the past. Some were meant for combat while others had been for simple deliveries, some had been meant for speed while others had been weighed down by weapons but in exchange were able to provide more firepower. She knew that it didn't matter much but with her current thought process she just couldn't help but think about it that way. "Man, this is a difficult decision." she muttered to herself as she continued browsing, slowly inching her way through the store entirely unsure of what it was that she wanted. Though she did notice the other girl looking in her direction so she inched closer in that direction. Hey they seemed to have a similar hobby and she needed to get over her shyness so what better way to start than by trying to communicate with a potential acquaintance. Right? |

Another thing that Misaki wanted to try on the REGZ MA component was mounting bigger, meaner missiles for use only against fortified enemies. Her thoughts immediately pointed her in the direction of a Super Etandard Jet aircraft which gained fame during the Falkland wars due to its lethal role sinking British warships. Her curiosity grew exponentially when she heard the blonde woman pondering a question out loud. " I know how you must feel with so many to choose from." Was her try to strike a casual conversation. Everytime her gaze turned to another part of the shelve she immediately spotted something else that captivated her attention. She would have to bring Sia to this store later. |

Yuuka could have sworn she felt herself jump a foot or two into the air as she heard the girl speaking to her. "A..ah yeah." She hadn't expected to be spoken to but it was actually kind of a relief that she didn't have to initiate a conversation herself. Now that it was started though she had to try and keep it going. "I just feel a bit overwhelmed with so much to choose from. None of the shops back home have anywhere near a selection like this and I'm really not even sure where to begin so I've just been randomly searching shelves." She spoke as her eyes continued to wander the shelves wondering if she was doing this 'conversation thing' right.

It felt slightly awkward to see the blonde woman stammer anxiously at their innocent exchange of words. Could it be the large selection was making Yuuka too excited? Misaki was no stranger to that feeling. " For beginners you cant go wrong with Bandai Gundam kits." This girl didnt look like a experienced modeler and she knew even the most simple military tank or aircraft kit required much more effort that the relatively simple snap and fit Gunplas. It was a coincidence that the few Gundam themed models in store where mostly the latest SEED, Unicorn and AGE variety in all grades and flavours. In the meantime after offering that healthy advise Misaki picked up a small scale Spitfire MKII pre painted kit that looked absolutely beautiful. The Supermarine MK IIB was equipped with four 20mm Hispano-Suiza cannons an update over the previous model whose armament consisted solely of rifle caliber machineguns. Yes Sia would most likely love it. |

Really Yuuka was just nervous, hence the stammering though there was no way for anyone who didn't personally know her to know that. Though she couldn't help but raise an eyebrow as Misaki spoke next. For a moment she had found herself actually considering the girl's advice until she remembered that she had come in here for something a bit different than usual and that she was no beginner, well she kinda was, but that was exactly why she felt like she needed to try something a bit different, something more complex. "Ahh actually I'm well aware of the Gundam kits, I've built and customized a Gunpla of my own. I had actually come in looking for something a bit different to help improve my building skill and maybe find a few ideas for a new design." she wasn't sure if she was talking to herself at this point but she found herself speaking anyways. The girl had seemed willing to help before so maybe this would provide for a good opportunity. Besides she STILL had to get over that shyness thing, especially since she felt it was a bit shameful that she was still so shy despite her age, so trying her best to make at least a new acquaintance was pretty high up on her priority list. "I'm just not sure what I want.." she said almost absentmindedly as her eyes drifted over to a set of military tanks, her eyes suddenly sparkling with fascination, now that was interesting.. |

It was a nice surprise to find a fellow Gunpla enthusiast. Yes it all seemed so obvious now, why else would a young girl be interested in this constructive hobby. " So you're looking for material for your next big project? it all depends on the kind of mobile suit you want to customize." External weaponry such as gunpods, bombs and missile based on real life machinery would be obviously best employed in a model with a transformable feature and long enough wings to fit said weapon system. It wasn't as simple as gluing these pieces together; specialized hard points had to be fitted to ensure the weapons would separate from its host during Gunpla battles. It was difficult not to notice how Yuuka blue eyes sparkled upon setting her eyes on the tank models who consisted mostly on armored fighting vehicles of the second world war. Tigers, Shermans, T-34/85s and a few other classic armored chassis where available all of them vastly different designs from each other. " You're more of a Tank person, huh, miss? My name is Misaki by the way." an introduction was in order now. |

Well now they were onto introductions hmm? This was certainly going well. "Misaki? That's a nice name. I'm Yuuka."[/color] She introduced herself as she began looking through the tanks, her gaze finally settling on one model in particular, a TR-85 which she proceeded to pick up to get a good look at the box. "Yeah, I've always loved them since learning about them in school. If there's anything that can take a hit it's a tank." It was difficult for her to hide her fascination and apparent excitement, particularly with the way her eyes still sparkled, but she didn't really mind. She suddenly blinked as she remembered that she had forgotten all about Misaki's earlier question. Well that was embarrassing, she had let herself get distracted. "Oh right, yeah I am looking for material, or at least inspiration." She bit her bottom lip a moment, chewing on it as she pondered the model that she held in her hands and began muttering to herself. "I could work with this I think. May need to pick up a few extra parts though." |

" Its nice to meet you, Yuuka." It was surprising to see that of all the tanks on display the blonde choose the hugely popular Soviet T-34. " The secret of this tank toughness was the way the armor is angled." Not particularly a thick skinned armored vehicle the slopping doubled its effective frontal armor making it quite capable of deflecting large caliber shells at long distances. " its actually pretty quick and maneuverable for a thirty ton tank that is. Dont tell me you're planning on making a shield out of its turret? Top armors are the least armored sections of their chasis so bear that in mind." For now Misaki was really enjoying being so informative. For her mobile suits where the future descendants of these rugged battle tested instruments of destructions. |

Yuuka nodded in response to the information that Misake gave. Ideas were already formulating in her mind and the information being given to her was helping them to form more clearly. "Actually yeah, the plan was to make a backup shield out of the turret and I'm sure that I can put some of the armor to use somehow since it's not particularly thick. Might take a bit of extra work though, and I'll have to be really careful but I think that I can manage it." she took a quick peek inside the box to give the parts a quick glance and closed it again, a small smile present as she was satisfied with what she saw. She could definitely work with this. Taking a moment to stretch she looked over towards her new acquaintance. "So what has you here? You seem to be rather knowledgeable about all of this. It's actually really helpful." Then she let out a light gasp as she realized that she had forgotten something. "By the way It's nice to meet you too." |

" If you want a bigger stronger 'shield' go for the IS-3's. Its a much heavier descendant of the T-34 with a turret thats practically perfectly round shaped and much more durable." Of course mounting such contraption would heavily affect the Gunpla balance with its massive weight. The larger gun barrel could also be problematic since it would drastically reduce its mobility in tight quarters. Definately not the type of equipment one would fit to a simple Dagger. " I came here to pick up some souvenirs for my friends at our school'd Gunpla club." Every few days The members of the club would gather after classes to further improve their building skills following the expert advise of Xiao Mei Ling a college student who also acted as their team couch. " and while browsing I found the perfect way to make my own kit stronger." With the skills she'd acquired over the past weeks Misaki was more confident than ever. |

"Hmm.." She chewed on her bottom lip a moment as she thought the advice over, weighing the various pros and cons. Something heavier would be stronger and much more durable but at the same time she didn't want to limit it's close quarters capabilities, plus there was balance to worry about. So it seemed like it wouldn't quite work with the Dagger but it was definitely something to keep in mind for a different model. As she was lost in thought she was also listening to Misaki answer in response to her question, stopping her contemplation long enough to respond as the girl finished speaking. "You're part of a Gunpla club huh? That must be pretty nice, being able to work with others and even having expert advice to further improve yourself." Truthfully she was a bit envious, she had never really gotten a chance like that, though then again even if she had she probably would have refused it due to her own inability to deal with group situations. Still though.. she couldn't help but feel like maybe it would have been a good opportunity. Oh well, at least she was meeting more people that could actually give her advice, and possibly become friends with, and that was really all she could ask for. The only question was how to continue this interaction. This was something that she had never really been much good at so she really had no idea what she was doing. |

" It really is. less than a month ago I could barely build a High Grade kit, let alone paint it correctly." Part of the reason Misaki was able to improve so much was because the other girls and herself shared a lot of interest which frequently meant they could talk about the same topic for hours non stop while polishing their artistic modelling skills. " We also get a lot of practice battles against each other and lately been trying to issue a challenge to other academies with clubs like ours." Judging by looks alone Misaki was able to deduce Yuuka's age, she couldn't have been much older than 16 and her personality seemed to reinforce this theory. Their age groups matched and being a fellow female Gunpla builder made her a perfect candidate to join their growing club and Gunpla Battle team. " Would you like to join us? we're based at Torrington private academy so we're all girls." A cordial invitation was in order. |

Yuuka could hardly believe what she was hearing as Misaki invited her to join her school's club. "Well I would love too but I don't think that I would be able to. Ya see.." She paused a moment as she chewed on her bottom lip again. She knew that she definitely looked younger than her true age, and definitely acted like it. "..I know that I don't look it and definitely don't act like it but I'm actually 19 years old and a University student so while I would love to I don't think that I can. I really do appreciate the invitation though." Now that was the truth, it hurt a bit to have to refuse, as A. it would have been a chance for her to get to know more people and B. It would have given her a chance to improve her own skills while getting to know other female Gunpla builders. Oh well, there wasn't anything that could be done about it now. At least not in her mind. |

Judging by the hesitant way Yuuka refused it was clear that there was a way to convince the shy blonde. Forcing the matter wouldn't help so instead all she could do was make a suggestion. " That's not a problem. our school allows us to get college advisers for club activities. even our coach studies at Yokohama technical college and since i'm their leader getting approval from the school council would take less time than you think." With a reassuring wink Misaki hoped to change her senior's mind. " The choice is yours but i'd still like to get to know each other better." Aside from their very different personalities both of them shared a lot in common. The fact the two of them now found themselves on a niche shop like this one further reinforced that notion. " Do you play battles as well?" |

Yuuka tilted her head slightly to the side as Misaki presented another option to her. An adviser huh? The whole thing was sorely tempting and if there was a way.. then maybe she should take it. After all it was definitely a great opportunity for a variety of different reasons, the most important being the opportunity of possibly making new friends and the second being an improvement of her building and battle skills. More than that though it pleased her that Misaki seemed so willing to get to know each other better. "Hmm? Well yes I do.." She began in response to Misaki's question of if she played battles. "..But I lack confidence so when it comes to the thick of combat I get very nervous very easily and mess up. I'm great at coming up with battle plans but when it comes to actually carrying them out I choke.. pretty badly." It was a problem, one that she knew needed to be fixed at some point. At that point she had come to a decision regarding the girl's offer. "Ya know, I would love to join you if you'll have me. It sounds like a great opportunity in so many different ways." She spoke with a light nod. |
