This more positive answer was enough to make the excited raven haired teenager flash a confident smile. She was proud of her ' salesman' instinct always managing to convince others using the right words as opposed to simply forcing her views on people. " We'll have a meeting this monday and i'll be glad to see you there. just bring your student ID with you in case anyone asks and i'll get you registered as an adviser for the team." Surely the others would feel the same way having a new face around. Soon the conversation moved into the topic of actually waging battles. " Plans laid out before combat only take you so far. Personally I prefer gauging the capabilities of whoever i'm fighting against on the fly. There's no telling how another player might react so all I can do is prepare for the worst case scenario." All of a sudden her tone of voice changed now exhibiting an almost arrogant level of confidence. The piece of information Misaki omitted was the fact the other members of the club where very dangerous opponents in battle. ' I hope the others don't scare her away during practice.' Of course they could always set the damage settings to the lowest level preventing their Gunplas from getting obliterated into little shards of plastic. " Even then my hands still shake at the control sometimes whenever I get too into it. I guess you could say i've grown fond of that uncertain feeling." All of those positive and negative emotions where what Misaki considered as ' occupational hazards' at the end of the day this was simply a hobby with little to no real life repercussions. |

Yuuka slowly nodded, flashing a bright smile. "Alright, I'll make sure to be there." Honestly she was a bit nervous about it, having to face so many new people at once but she had been convinced already and she knew that at least there would be at least one familiar face to ease her into it so she was also really excited. She could only hope that it would go well, which she was pretty sure that it would turn out alright. She couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at the sudden confident, almost arrogant tone of voice that Misaki had as the conversation moved into actually waging battles. The girl seemed to be pretty sure of herself, though everything that she was saying was most definitely true. Yuuka's main problem was just that though, due to her confidence issues she always thought of the worst case scenario and it caused her to panic. She could only hope that wouldn't end up getting in her way. "Hmm.. you definitely seem confident, I wish that I could say the same about myself. Whenever I get behind the controls I end up thinking of the worst scenario and it sends me into a panic. One day though I'll fix my issues and be able to proudly call myself a fighter." A sudden fire seeming to ignite in her eyes as she once again reminded herself of what lay in store if she were to fix her issues. Though at the same time a blush had been crossing her face, this was embarrassing to talk about but she just found the words coming out, almost as if she felt that just talking about it could help to fix it. She hadn't felt this comfortable interacting with someone in a long time, it was kinda strange but nice at the same time. |

" Maybe battling just isn't your thing." There was nothing wrong with being a dedicated builder leaving the fights for other far more aggressive competitors, Gunpla battle was after all still dominated by the male community which could make it slightly hard to get into for some girls. " Nothing to be ashamed of really its just a game and what matter the most is how this hobby brings people together." Right now Gundam was more popular than ever all thanks to the Plavsky particles and systems that operated under this principle. The tournaments and other events also attracted a lot of people from different backgrounds and since there was a risk factor involved in the competitive levels of the game there was a portion of the community who merely refused to gamble their models structural integrity in some random match vs. other players. " I'm not that good really! I just cant help it but raise my voice too much sometimes." Quickly apologized Misaki realizing it she'd come out as brash. After being put trough the meat grinder that was the club practice and the beginners tournament she'd probably gained too much self confidence. Just like that Misaki noticed it was almost closing time. Once more she'd gotten so absorbed talking that time went flying by. " whoops!" The kits she'd picke up at first laid in a nearby shelve easily within her reach. " I'l go pay for this." After getting that done maybe she could convince Yuuka to continue their conversation somewhere else. A snack shop or maybe a Ramen cart in case they where feeling hungry enough. |

Yuuka nodded, she had never really thought about it that way but maybe she really wasn't cut out to be a fighter. "Maybe you're right but I need to keep trying." She just wasn't sure but she did intend to keep trying until she could figure it out. For now she could only just keep doing as she had been while trying to improve. It wasn't just combat where she lacked confidence so maybe once she started getting better in other areas it would help there too. If not then maybe she would just stick to being a dedicated builder, she was positive that she could at least handle that much. "Yeah I know, it really is amazing how something like this brings together so many different people." Despite that, it was a shame that it was still mostly male dominated, though that was part of the reason why she knew that she couldn't just give up. She couldn't help but giggle as Misaki seemed to be apologizing for her earlier brashness. Though suddenly she looked up at the clock and upon noticing the time blinked not once but twice. Well then.. it seemed that they had gotten so absorbed in their conversation that time had flown by without her realizing it. With her own kit in hand she followed Misaki over to the register to pay for her own kit, which in all honesty she had almost forgotten about even though it had been right in her hands. All the while thinking that maybe she could get misaki to continue their conversation somewhere else. She wasn't sure if it would happen but hey a girl could hope right? |

Misaki walked out of the store with her loot wrapped in bags and Yuuka following not far behind. The store closed in the early evening during the weekends but it was still only 8 o clock. The trip home was half hour away so there was still some time to spare before her mother started calling her trough the phone demanding to know her exact location. " All that nerd talk made me hungry." Commented the younger girl already getting a slight craving for salty snacks. There where plenty of places to choose from and since it was saturday most establishments where packed full of customers. Even the street ramen cart where loaded with people arguing to get a seat and their orders taken. " I aint in the mood for none of that." It would take literary forever for any of them to get their orders served. " I knew I should have taken lunch earlier today." There had been so much work to do cleaning up she had skipped lunch break in order to get the work done in time for shopping. In the end it had been totally worthy. |

Yuuka followed Misaki out of the store, the bag that held her kit being held in one hand while the other was busy texting her mother to let her know that she would be home late. It took only a brief moment to receive a response and with a deep breath she put her phone away and sped up her pace a bit so that she was walking side by side with Misaki, nodding in agreement at the younger girl's remark. "Yeah I'm hungry too." Though where could they go? Since it was Saturday a majority of the establishments were packed full, including the street ramen carts and as a result weren't really an option unless they wanted to wait forever. "Well then that means we need to find something quick yet at the same time fulfilling." She wondered a moment if she should ask just why it was that Misaki would have skipped lunch. Would it be appropriate? She really wasn't sure and she didn't want to take any chances so she would just avoid it. "Anyways I'm up for just about anything really. Except I have a severe pineapple allergy so we have to stay away from that." She felt a bit embarrassed talking about her allergy but she felt it was entirely necessary for the situation, plus she wanted her new.. acquaintance? Friend? Whichever she was, she wanted to let the younger girl know more about herself. |

The night was still young, regardless of the time, as many people whom now roamed the streets seeked the thrills of the night life; and because it was a weekend there were many, many different groups wandering about, drinking and laughing in the streets. One person in particular seemed out of place, yet at the same time the attire this person wore fit the night life's motif. Mei-ling hadn't expected this when she was approached with an offer for a part-time job as an advertiser for a new, upstart late night restaurant. Of course, the requirements for the job were rather limited and very specific, but she felt it wasn't too much to ask. Must be female and 18 years or older Must not mind dealing with customers face to face. Must be vocal and precise when asked questions about the establishment. Above all else must be friendly. There were some things she had concerns with, but it wasn't hard to convince the girl that she was greatly helping out by accepting the job. The hours were good, from 8 PM to 2 AM, which worked into her busy schedule during the afternoons and early evenings. The pay was wonderful, which also assisted her greatly by providing her monthly report back home with some physical proof she wasn't just wasting her life away over here. Mei-ling just hadn't expected it to be this sort of advertising though. She was wearing a shorter skirt then usual, a black frilly one that showed off her legs, which for once wasn't covered up by the lengthy thigh highs she usually wore with her outfits. A white button up blouse, frilled with fine inlaid designs that served to hug her figure complimented her surprisingly .. shapely, yet modest bosom and midriff. Complimenting her attire were some white wrist cuffs and a pair of thigh boots. In her hands were a set of advertisement flyers. There was more .. but she was now down to the last dozen or so and she was diligently handing them out to whomever would accept them. They all accepted. |

"Really? you're seriously missing how tasty pineapples are." This reveal made Misaki appreciate more the fact she didn't suffer any kind of allergies. it was also useful to know that way she wouldn't accidentally fed her new found friend any portion of the 'forbidden' fruit. " I know a place not far from here." Since all the fast food establishments where crowded they would have to settle for a maid cafe. After walking trough another city block Misaki attention was caught by a familiar face handing out fliers in front of the restaurant she'd refereed to a few minutes earlier. It was their couch Xiao Mei Ling wearing the complimentary uniform all of the servers had to wear. It was an unexpected coincidence to meet each other at a time like this what was more surprising was how cute Ling looked like dressed like that. " its nice to see you, Sempai." Too late did Misaki realized this might not have been the time nor place for honorifics as she walked up to the entrance to greet the chinese girl. Upon taking a closer look inside there where still some tables available. |

"I've heard as much before, it sucks but oh well." She hated her allergy really as she knew that she was missing out but there wasn't anything that could be done about it. Anyways she really was starting to wonder by this point where they would end up going as it was starting to seem like quite literally all of the fast food restaurants were crowded but it seemed like Misaki had an idea so that was good. "Well then, lead the way." They walked through another city block and it seemed that something or someone had caught her new friend's attention. Yuuka turned her gaze in the same direction and.. holy crap that girl standing in front of the restaurant handing out fliers was absolutely gorgeous, that uniform making it even more so. What was more was that Misaki seemed to know her and with a bit of a chuckle mixed in with a quiet sigh she followed her new friend as they approached the entrance. "Senpai? I'm assuming that you know her?" |

After handing out the final flyer, Mei-ling closed her eyes and sighed, exhausted. A familiar voice caught her attention though as she looked up, recognizing the voice as belonging to her club mate from Torrington; Misaki. Straightening herself up, she folded her hands together and smiled happily at her, head turning to regard the new voice which belonged to a girl Mei-ling didn't know. Had Misaki made a new friend already? It would appear so as she noticed the bags they both carried in their hands. "Hello Misaki, you're out rather late? Did you manage to make a new friend and potential team member?" She would ask, directing her smile to the other girl as well. To be honest she was rather embarrassed she'd been caught wearing her uniform by a stranger. Then again many strangers were passing by, but they were potential customers she didn't really know and weren't related to her in any way. People like Misaki on the other hand though, that see her everyday, were different. |

Misaki was perfectly capable of understanding Mei Ling part time job and wouldn't talk about it with anyone else being members of their club or not. " That's right, she's Xiao Mei Ling and this is Yuuka I just meet her at a nearby hobby shop a few blocks down the street." It was up to her to introduce the two college girls to each other. " I got off work a while back and went to pick some new material for the club when I found her browsing the store so we talked for a while until it got this late." Was her honest answer to the question asked by their team coach. " I figured i'd bring a new customer here since we've worked an appetite while discussing building tips. So, would I apply for a special discount?" Joked the youngest girl of the trio still quite pleasantly surprised to see their senior dressed in that attire. On this day and age any kind of honest job was good enough for aspiring students such as themselves and servers, specially pretty females made very good money. Yet for some reason Misaki couldnt stand the idea of other people specially men flirting with Ling. jealousy perhaps? no matter these thoughts where safely stored in the back of her head never to be shared with anyone else. |

Yuuka gave Mei Ling a small, shy smile and a wave as they were introduced by Misaki. "It's nice to meet you." She was glad that Misaki was doing most of the talking as she knew that she likely wouldn't have really been capable of it herself, at least not yet. Through this exchange she had also learned something new about her new friend, it seemed that they all had some kind of job. She could understand the merits of part time jobs, herself actually having several, though she really wished that they would pay better. Although, as she looked towards Ling she couldn't help but notice just how pretty she was again, she was definitely much more.. endowed than herself and it made her feel a strange sense of jealousy. Oh how she wished that she could look that good. Anyways ignoring those thoughts she turned her attention back to the conversation at hand, only to be distracted again as a light rumbling came from her tummy. "Man I'm hungry." She mumbled under her breath, hoping that nobody had actually heard that. |

Mei-ling held a finger against her lips, contemplating this "special discount", looking off to the side as she did so. To be honest, she was still a relatively new employee, having only just recently started work in the 'Eternal Cherry Blossom'; the name of the restaurant she worked to advertise for. Then again, the owner did seem to take a rather strange liking to her and she was certain he wouldn't mind giving friends of hers that special discount. With a nod, she smiled again towards the two girls and gestured with a hand. "Of course, a special discount can be arranged. Come in and have a seat while I go talk to the owner. You've been here before, Misaki, so I'm sure you know what to order." With that, she headed into the busy, bustling restaurant and disappeared into the crowd. |

" You know I was just screwing around with you, right?" It was unexpected to see Mei Ling take her poor attempt at a joke literary, an embarrassed Misaki scratching her cheek with her index finger while contemplating the possibilities that laid open now. With a shrug she motioned Yuuka towards an empty booth where they could take a seat and wait for their server to arrive and take their orders. The bags she was carrying where kept under the table out of the way for the time being. Not feeling particularly stingy the raven haired teenager ordered a nice steak cooked medium rare and with a side of mashed potatoes and french fries. It would be impossible for her to finish it in a single sitting yet this didn't stop her from ordering it. For complimentary drink an icy glass of Speed Cola. " Mei Ling our team coach. pretty isnt she?" Since Yuuka would become part of the team it was appropriate to let her in on this info. " She's even more dangerous in Gunpla battle." The smiling chinese girl was the 'Night Witches' Marksman specialist but sniping the enemy was not the only thing she excelled at. |

Yuuka couldn't help the small smile that formed as she tried not to giggle at Misaki's obvious embarrassment to having her joke taken literally, it was just so cute to see her like that. Letting out a deep breath she followed Misaki inside and towards an empty booth, setting her bag under the table to keep it out of the way as she sat across from the younger girl. When the server arrived she ordered a well done burger and a side of french fries and for a drink was an icy glass of Speed Cola. It was a simple meal, but one that she knew would satisfy her. With a deep breath she leaned back against the booth and let out a quiet sigh, grateful for the moment to relax after having been on her feet for so long. Her relaxed state didn't last long though as her raven haired friend reminded her of just how pretty Mei Ling was and she suddenly found herself blushing as not for the first time she imagined herself with a body type like the other college girl's. "Yeah she really is pretty. I wish that I could have a body like that..." She found herself speaking almost absentmindedly, not even realizing what she was even saying at first. Though after a moment it finally clicked with her and she quickly rushed to move away from the fact that she had said something so embarrassing. Why had she said something like that out loud anyways? "So she's a pretty skilled battler huh?" |

Mei-ling returned some time later, having managed to secure a special discount for her friend plus one. Holding a duo of trays in both hands, she smiled at the two from afar as they seemed to be getting along. Her hair had been tied back into a simple ponytail, obviously due to the fact she'd been asked to take care of orders and serve the customers their refreshments. As she arrived at their table, she put down the first tray consisting of a still hot and sizzling steak, freshly made mashed potatoes and a large heaping of oven baked fries on a plate. A sauce boat of gravy was also present as a topping for the mashed potatoes. The owner had gone to great lengths to ensure Mei-ling's friends would be well-taken care of. Having taken care of Misaki's order, she directed her attentions to the new girl, laying down her order of a burger with a side dish of freshly made fries. The burger was rather generous, it's buns freshly toasted with butter, the beef patty between was large and still dripped with delicious fat which ensured all the flavor inside would explode within one's mouth. It was then topped off with two strips of melted white cheese, a small layer of lettuce, and a fresh slice of tomato to top it all off. With that done, she placed the orders of Speed Cola down in front of the two, before hugging the last serving tray against her chest. "Enjoy." Mei-ling would say, looking around to see if she was needed before taking a seat next to Yuuka, seeing as it was the closest seat available. "Has she decided to join the club already, Misaki?" She would ask, amazed at the girl's persuasive abilities. |

" Compared to me she's very skilled. I really lack the patience to play sniper, my hand shakes too much all the time." While waiting for their food to arrive Misaki explained the blonde that their current members specialized at different roles and their personal Gunpla selection reflected this. Misaki's niche was simple fire power taking advantage of the explosive armament to compensate for her lack of accuracy. she would talk on the behalf of Sia and llona's but decided against it at the last minute. It would be better if their two exchange princess explained that to Yuuka themselves. Looking over her shoulder she'd turned in time to see Mei Ling approaching with their respective orders in tow. Her mouth already watering upon taking a closer look at the sizzling steak fresh out of the grill. " Itadakimasu." Once her plate was set on the table she reached out for the bottle of tomato sauce applying just the right amount on top of the side of fries before sprinkling pepper all over. " I invited her to be our guest at the meeting we'll have at the start of the week." If anything she wanted Yuuka to choose for herself upon seeing the kind of club they had and probably get to know the other members of their 'culturally' diverse group. |

Admittedly, Yuuka wasn't entirely surprised as Misaki explained to her that each of the club members all specialized in different roles. There were so many different Gunpla and methods of approaching combat that with a bit of creativity anyone can manage to differentiate themselves from another. "I actually prefer a close range approach myself, when I'm not panicking I typically try to be fairly aggressive and launching quick strikes once I find an opening." She explained, omitting the fact that her preferred method of combat stemmed from her own desire to be able to more easily approach others in her interactions with others. It was just embarrassing but it was how she rolled. She turned her gaze as Misaki did just in time to see Mei Ling approaching with their respective orders. Man that food did seem good, her stomach agreeing with her by lightly rumbling again. "Itadakimasu." Once her plate was on the table she waited for Misaki to finish with the bottle of tomato sauce before reaching for it herself and applying a bit on top of her fries and then a bit more on the generously stacked burger. "Honestly I'm pretty much already sold. Misaki was pretty persuasive." She didn't know what kind of people she would end up meeting or even fully what she was getting herself into but she did have a feeling that it would turn out okay. |

"That's great to hear." Mei-ling would say, happy to know that Misaki hadn't scared someone off like the last dozen or so. And those were actual applicants that had come to be interviewed and subsequently challenged by the overzealous club president from Torrington Academy. They all left crying. Regardless she directed her attention towards the girl sitting next to her and nodded, eyeing her with a keen interest as she wondered how the girl would fight. "Oh yes, did you help her pick out a kit as well? Or did she already have one?" |

Personally Misaki never considered her fault that out of all those applicants none of them had the stomach to accept their defeats at her hands. The 'Condor Legion' was the name she picked for their small club but unofficially each of the original members could refer to themselves in any way the desired it to be. " We never really talked about it yet. Back at the store we where discussing how to customize our models using non Gundam related weaponry and equipment I guess I forgot to ask." Misaki was easily distracted it was fortunate she didn't forget to introduce herself to the timid Yuuka. Now that the fries where warm enough she began eating them one portion at the time not feeling in any particular hurry despite how hungry she was. Not very often she'd have the pleasure and privilege to enjoy dinner with like minded friends of her own age group and hoped they would be able to have more gatherings like this one. Wiping her tender fingers clean with a napkin Misaki turned her attention at the simmering steak flawlessly holding the fork and knife to cut it in delicate portions. Like always it was cooked to perfection and the soft meat cooked on its own juices overloaded her taste buds with pleasure to the point it was physically painful for a brief seconds. |
