After a very disappointing first round the participants where issued new Gunpla models for the next battle in the 0080 event. This time the battlefield was the interior of the Ria colony in side 6. The mildly developed metropolitan area. Unlike the last time the objective was fairly simple: Both teams would fight until the last combatant remained. Earth Federation players where issued GM commands ground types while Zeon players where given the choice between Zaku Kais and Dom II's sporting colony attack livery.

The earth Federation players deployment base was located at the local garrison located in the outskirts of the metropolitan area. Zeon players would deploy from the colony space ports directly into the interior.

( Post order is as follows!: Earth Federations players get the first move followed by Zeon players. Each team must adhere strictly to the post order though the 48 hour rule is still in full effect. Players would only be skipped if more than 72 hours pass after the last post so each team leader is responsible for the attendance of its own subordinates.)

NEW RULING: automatic shell based weaponry fire FIVE rounds per 2 AP. that would mean four attack instances before a gun with a capacity of 20 rounds has to be reloaded, therefore all your machineguns now have 20 rounds per magazine to all Zeon and EF players alike. this is taking in consideration the SLOW rate of fire of early automatic mobile suit weaponry.

Well that last match was unfortunate, Mei-ling sighed. There were good days and bad days she supposed. At least the facility was kind enough to let them keep going rather then just end the event entirely. Getting herself comfy, she launched the GM Command into the field and looked about, taking in her surroundings as she waited for the rest of her teammates to come. If any would still want to be in a team with her, that is. She did kind of mess up after all.

Alex overcame his sickness that ended up ruining his first match. "Ugh, I don't know what that breakfast had in it." he was complaining about it. He rested his hands on the controls, the visor of his GM Command lighting it. With a kick from the launch pad it sent the GM Command into the battle zone. Landing at a cross section between several buildings. He looked around the city, panning the camera. "Phalanx Four to Phalanx One, where do you think they will come from?" he ducked the GM Command down below the view.

William launched himself into the battle without much of a fanfare. He was still new to this but he got some experience in with how the orbs interact with the gunpla. Landing next to the other GM's. He checked his weapons out as he spoke on the radio as his gunpla faced Mei-ling's one.

"Phalanx..err...two here. Reporting for duty. We didn't get much action last battle so hopefully this time we can get into the thick of it.".

Hideo felt very giddy for the moment. The Dom was a good mobile suit in many respects, but first and foremost? It's ground speed was super fast. It took all of his willpower not to speed the thing around like a bat out of hell. "Tactics" he told himself coolly, acknowledging Kurtz and moving deliberately slow to the right flank. He liked how much coverage this zone had, and remembered that if used right, the Dom was a beast at urban combat. Whether it was better than the Gouf, for example, remained to be seen.

His Gunpla, a Rick Dom II, carried the 360mm Giant Bazooka in hand, along with a 90mm MMP Machine gun on the waist and a heat sword on the back. On the extra skirt space, one magazine for the bazooka and one for the machine gun could be seen. That would be it, however. If things got too hairy, he would focus on closing speed with the Dom and using its close-combat capabilities to the max.

"This is gonna be fun" Hideo said, trying not to sound too excited.

(Dunno what the full AP count of the Gunpla is, but er, 1 AP for movement I guess.)

Kurtz looked at the Zaku II Kai that he had been given. 90mm gun, 32 rounds, and a single HE grenade in its launcher. Three more hand grenades on the model and an axe. Basically, it was an infantry suit, meant to get close to the enemy and annihilate him. And from what he had been told, the scenario was urban. Not an ideal situation but one that Kurtz felt more comfortable with. He was heartened to see that the machine had the B type helmet that resembled the M35 helmet.

"Kameraden, we are the attackers again. Speed is key. Deception is vital. Seelöwe 4, stick with me. Seelöwe 2 and 3, work together. Concentrate fire on a single target. We will advance from the center. Move to our right flank and cover it. If they hit from the left, circle around and strike them in their flank. Or strike from the sky."

Michael was Seelöwe 4. Hideo and Akira, paired together, were Seelöwe 2 and 3 respectively

Again, it was a poor strategy in Kurtz's mind. There was no reserve this time. But then, this was a battle of maneuver in dense cover. Kurtz knew from experience that a Dom, no matter how it was armed, would be a formidable opponent. 90mm rounds would have difficulty penetrating the frontal armor. As he moved his Zaku II Kai forwards, Kurtz noted how the suit had heavy frontal armor as well without sacrificing speed. The drawback was that it had a shorter operational range... in the anime. In this game, operational ranges rarely mattered.

Kurtz moved behind a tall apartment and peeked out from the side before retracting his head quickly. "Advance from cover to cover." It was clear so far.

Michael Grimme was given his MS-09R-2 Rick Dom II and began heading for the arena inspecting the weapons it had been given. He lookd to Kurtz as he spoke and gave a nod at the speed is key part. The Dom series was known for being fast, so he felt that he could meet that requirement. Michael had almost forgotten he was Seelöwe 4 but with that Kurtz had reminded him. He smirked upon being told to concentrate fire on a single target finding that to be a good plan. The whole plan seemed good enough for him in his opinion and thought for a moment as he stood at the gp base. Placing his MS-09R-2 Rick Dom II onto the gp base he waited to be entered and took hold of the control spheres. The moment he launched he kicked hovermode on and would of course follow Kurtz whilst scanning around with his monoeye which ended with the signature flash. He had in his right hand the 360mm Giant Bazooka though planned on having two weapons active soon enough. He stacked up behind Kurtz on the apartment deactivating hover mode and coming to a stop."From what I recall sir around the city is some dense hilly forest, there is also a particularly drained water way." he informed their leader. With that he followed the order Kurtz gave and came around the corner to the street before switching on hover mode and going down the street keeping an eye out for their opponents. As he went he bent slightly and with his left arm grabbed a parked car and then chucked it diagonally left the next street over. The vehicle no doubt showed up on sensors as it quickly flew to the next street over and crashed after having been tossed diagonally left. If it somehow did not show up on sensors one might here it when it smashed into the pavement. Michael then came to a stop next to a building that was a bit taller then his mobile suit at an intersection. Looking up and down it he would see no sign of the enemy team. He would note the large alleyway that ran behind the building."Clear, tossed a decoy." he said before reaching with his left hand and grabbing his heat sword activating it. He waited for Kurtz now as he had his double wammy ready. It was highly unlikely that the enemy team would spot him visually yet as he is on a different street entirely.

Akira was stunned by the rather quick first event. It was over before he had even had a chance to enter the fray appropriately. However, he was sure this one wouldn't be over as fast. Exchanging the Hygogg for a Zaku II Kai, Akira placed it on the GP Base and launched it into the arena. The green mobile suit landed on the street with a mechanical thud and slid a good 3 feet before coming to a stop. The pink mono-eye flared to laugh and gathered data on the surroundings. "Ah yes, I remember this setting. Depending on the enemies tactics, this should be interesting." Akira chuckled to himself. He was already immersed into a battle that had yet to officially begin. Of course, his first priority was linking up with his allies.

The clunky Zaku made its way down a main street before making a left down a somewhat narrower stretch of road. His allies were two blocks down, an appropriate distance. If he got too close, the enemy would have a chance to wipe them out in one fell swoop if they played their cards right. Akira wasn't that stupid. He kept his distance, hugging the side of a tall building. The head of his Zaku peered around the corner, hoping to get a glimpse of any enemy mobile suits. One of his allies had sped ahead, launching a car down the street as a decoy. It would certainly catch the attention of the Federation players, though it probably simply acted as an approximation of where the Zeon players were staging. With that in mind, Akira turned and went two blocks west and one block north. He needed to put more distance between him and his allies so he'd have a good vantage point to ambush their enemies when they inevitably descended upon them. The Dom's could take care of themselves. Akira's Zaku on the other hand couldn't hover and thus was a slower machine. His movements and timing had to be accurate if he was going to be just as effective.

With that in mind, Akira peered around the corner once more, the pink mono-eye scanning the streets ahead for any sign of movement.

"I have no idea." Was Mei-ling's only reply to her teammate from the last game. "I mean .. they obviously have a very good person telling them what to do, sooo I guess we can expect a lot of fancy tactics and maneuvers." She also had no idea what the other team was using, which was an added plus as the challenge would prove to be an exhilarating way to find out just how well she could react. With a tilt of her hand, she turned the GM's head around to examine their surrounding area. It would appear they had all spawned in some sort of reinforced structure complete with high walls, guard towers, a hangar bay to their left that most likely would have housed their GM's, a barracks next to it and what appeared to be an administrative building located just south of that. They were all huddled around the courtyard, surrounded by what appeared to be a series of markers that formed into a square, in the middle a flag-pole flew the colors of the Earth Federation.

Having taken in her surroundings, she practically beamed, her engines revving up with excitement once more as she went over to the entrance of their fortification and poked the GM's head out. To both of her teammate, "Well, I don't think we need to worry about having to fight inside the city, we're kind of far away from it. This place must function as a fort of some sort, we've got walls all around us, though I don't think they'll do much to stop a mobile suit, it'll still provide a nice amount of protection from being spotted .. hrm .. if we lay the GM's down next to the wall I think we can lay down some decent fire before they get into range."

They still had time, most definitely. Her sensors hadn't picked up anything, which meant the other team had spawned within the city itself. "Let's start building some fortifications!" Mei-ling would say, using the GM's hand to point towards the hangar, in particular the steel that made up it's shape and form. "We can use the beam sabers to cut out some plating and make some rudimentary cover, reinforce the walls with 'em, make a barricade .. yeah, I think we can do this. Let's all have a blast, Phalanx." She would say, heading over towards the hangar to begin preparations for their defense.

"Oh yeah, what are you both armed with? I mean, what did you spawn in with? I would love it if one of you had a one-eighty or a three-eighty. Maybe one of you was lucky enough to get a beam rifle?" She would ask, having not yet checked her own load-out.

Alex shifted his GM over toward Mei-ling's, moving out from behind his cover. "Bunker down in the base huh?" he would ask and then nod his head. "Since this is a straight up fight, taking a defensive posture would be good." he said as he checked the sensors for a second then looked to Mei-ling. "Phalanx Four will watch the perimeter for enemy activity." he said to his team.

"I got you covered while you work, Phalanx One." he said. Alex's GM Command moved to the wall, visually scanning over it as he began his guard shift. "I'll let you know if they start getting close." he said over the Comms. "I only got the bull-pup, but if you check the hangers there might be a bazooka or cannon in them." he said, though wasn't really sure. "Depends if the battle system is going to be nice to us and if the Event Planners took into account every little detail." he chuckled at the idea.

"Phalanx Two, how are you holding up on your end?" he asked the other member of their team.

"I'm handling OK here Phalanx Three."

He notices the rifle and the shield in his hands as he takes in the surroundings. Seems everybody was equipped with the same thing. Beam sabers, Vulcan guns too. William Shouldn't had expected much of a difference. It's mostly the same as the last gunpla he thought to himself.

"Phalanx One, I'm armed the same as everybody else."
He replies to his team leader. Just then A thought occurred however to William. Gunpla, while it holds true to some aspects of warfare it is rather different in execution. Considering he used his thrusters last battle to move quickly couldn't the enemy do something along the lines? Couldn't they simply bypass the walls and jump over them?

"Phalanx One, Can't they just jump over the walls? Didn't you say the walls wouldn't help us defend against a mobile suit? If that's the case then I'm going to check if there is any weaponry we can use in the base. In cases like this, the best defense here is a good offense." William lit up his thrusters and quickly dashed into the hanger. Surely there had to be something useful against the incoming threat. He scanned over the contents of the hanger slowly, looking at anything weapon shaped that could be held or used by a mobile suit. "Phalanx Team. Is there a long range weapon of some sorts for this mobile suit? Somebody said something about a cannon of sorts"

"Where are they, I wonder?"

Hideo stopped his Dom behind a building, trying to look ahead. He got the idea that the opponents would be somewhere ahead of them, since typically GP fields were designed around head-on confrontation. Despite the power and speed of his Dom, he understood the range of the Gunpla was somewhat limited. Perhaps not any worse than the GM Command, but nothing to snipe about. He waited till his partner in the Zaku arrived, and continued to move slowly forward, taking cover at each building. He would go as slow as the leader dictated.

Nothing. No reaction. Something was wrong. Very wrong. If Kurtz was the defender, he would have thrown out a skirmish line of some sort to make contact with the enemy. As it was ... his own units hadn't touched a thing. Contact with any enemy would have slowed the advance down and Kurtz had proceeded on the assumption that there was a skirmish line. He slapped himself mentally. These were civilians! How could he have forgotten to factor that in!

The enemy were in a fixed position somewhere so Kurtz pulled up his map. It told him that the historical Federation base was ahead. A walled complex and somewhat fortified. Time to pull a page from Manstein. If he was going to hold a position, that would be the obvious spot. Time to pull a page from Manstein. "Okay, marking assault point," Kurtz informed the team, "We will hit it from de front. Seelöwe 2 and 3, get in close and strike from de flank with speed!"

Kurtz advanced faster until the complex was in sight. He took cover behind a building and begin observing what he could. No movement on this side. Perhaps they were on the other sides? Suddenly, the flare of jets blowing against the trees told Kurtz that the enemy was here. He glanced at his sensors and saw that there was at least one detected enemy on it.

"Achtung! Enemy panzers!" he called to them. He waited for the others to get into position before attacking. "Seelöwe 4, when you are able, bombard them with your rockets!"

Michael peered up and down the street for a moment expecting a GM to come around a corner at any moment. That simply did not happen and that left him confused for a moment as he was used to the enemy coming to him at this point. Upon hearing Kurtz speak up he listened intently and watched as the marker went up. Of course! How could he have forgotten about the federation base. He should of said somthing about that but Michael in his eagerness had forgotten. Upon being told they would hit from the front Michael revved up the hover jets of his MS-09R-2 Rick Dom II. Upon seeing Kurtz advancing he pushed the thrusters and began to head down the street in serpentine form having gone around the street corner through the intersection and towards the Federation base. Speeding ahead the Federation Base would soon come within sight but not exactly within viable range. With that he would push the thrusters harder and hover diagonally left as to force them to lead their targets but he would also serpentine a little not wanting them to get a shot off on him as he got closer. With some extra effort he would of transitioned from hover mode to full on thruster mode and headed into the air. Now able to see into the base he spotted Mei-ling's GM heading for the hanger and quickly took aim with his 360mm Giant Bazooka and fired a single round. The round heads right for the lower torso of the GM that Mei-ling is piloting. Having stopped thrusting upwards he began to ensure his quick decent by shifting and kicking thrusters to begin bringing him down as to avoid being a sitting duck in the air. As he did this he began to move backwards diagonally towards some outer buildings of the city. On the way down he aimed with his 360mm Giant Bazooka once more and fired. The round fired from the 360mm Giant Bazooka heads for the upper torso of the GM. Upon landing Michael would engage hover mode and move backwards as quick as he can in serpentine before abruptly punching left and then coming to a stop behind an apartment complex on some of the outer streets.

Akira smirked as the battle began in earnest. Bazooka rounds, machine gun rounds, all were flying across the battlefield. And of course, Akira's team had a plan of action. Akira, designated Seelowe 3 was paired with Seelowe 2: Hideo. They're objective was to flank the enemy and take them out, if not pin them at the very least. Akira had caught up to Hideo and was following closely behind, moving from building to building as cover. The assault point that Kurtz had marked was a Federation base, and by all accounts it was the logical place for the Federation players to spawn. And considering they hadn't run into anyone yet, they probably hadn't left. Flanking the enemy meant hitting from the side or from behind. Going around the base to the back seemed like it would be the best plan of action as the enemy wouldn't be expecting them to make the journey all the way around. If they stayed out of sensor range it could work out just perfectly, but Akira wondered if Kurtz and Michael could hold out long enough for them to stage that attack.

With the first shots having already been fired by Akira's side, the clock was now ticking. He opened a comm channel to Hideo. "Hideo, we're moving up on the left side of the base. Stay as far away from the walls as possible, we cannot afford to be picked up on the Federations sensors. Save your fuel and stick close to me." Akira was fired up, recalling everything from Gundam 0080 that he could. He could picture the layout of the battlefield, the positions of their mobile suits, even what they were carrying. The only two things he wasn't sure of was what MS their opponents were using and where they were positioned exactly. They were inside the base, that much was certain. He needed more intel before finalizing his plan of action. He opened a channel to Michael who was engaged with the enemy. "Seelowe 4, can you make out what type of mobile suit the Feds are using? And if possible, try and wire a video feed to me so I can keep track of the battle while we get into position." He opened one last channel to Kurtz, Seelowe 1. "Seelowe 1, I may have a good plan. Gonna hit them from two three directions at once. My Zaku II Kai will slow everyone down, so I'll hit their base from the left flank. I'm going to send Seelowe 2 to the very back of the base. The Feds won't be expecting it since its a long ride from this end to that end. It's a long shot, but if we can catch them off guard with two surprise attacks while you and Seelowe 4 keep them occupied at the front, we may just win this battle. Is it doable?" The whole time he had the three comm channels and broadcasting to one another so everyone knew what was going on. He wasn't going to leave them in the dark to wonder where the hell their backup was.

The Zaku II Kai exited the city, stopping at the edge of a building to wait for Michael's answer. Akira was practically a repository of Gundam knowledge. If he could get the model of the Federation suits, he could accurately plan how to get past their sensor range without getting picked up until the attack began. "Hideo, we'll stop here for a second. Stay behind cover, we can't risk the Feds making optic contact. If they see us we might as well just storm the front gate." Akira relaxed a bit at his controls. He wasn't going to go down without a fight, and he sure as hell wasn't gonna let them get a cheap win by blowing their plans to hell.

Mei-ling came out from the hangar's entrance with a pile of neatly rectangular pieces of what was once a part of the hangar in the GM's arms, having taken out a significant portion of the left-most steel housing to accommodate for the preparations they were making. There was still a little time left for them to fortify, or so she hoped, before the enemy team finally realized they weren't going to be fighting within the city itself and headed towards the base itself. Getting to work on the walls themselves, she placed and secured the steel "plates" against the fortified walls, one after the other until it reached a quarter of the way towards the entrance.

"Mmm, well, from the looks of things we're all using the RGM-79G GM Command .. so if you didn't already have the weapon equipped to your load-out, then I guess all we have is what we get," She would state, shrugging. "Honestly, it'll be fine. A shield, head-mounted sixty-mil's, a beam saber and ninety-mil machine guns. Plus the GM Command is the best, performance-wise, in the Federation arsenal."

She gave an encouraging smile and thumbs up to the rest of her teammates through the view-screen.

"We'll be fine. At this point I would think the enemy are equipped with either or late-era Zaku's and initial mass-produced versions of the MS-09B Dom, so they have a pretty diverse make-up compared to us. I took a look over the topography and map while I was busy cutting out the hangar walls. If it's just Zaku's, then I'd say they'll attempt to surround us and attempt to overwhelm us with a simultaneous assault from all sides. If it's just Dom's, then they'll use their advantage in firepower and mobility to attack head-on. They aren't invincible, so just focus your fire until you break through that armor of theirs. Last thing, if they're equipped with both Zaku's and Dom's, then the same as the above except they'll be doing both. Flanking and Assaulting."

Mei-ling directed the GM towards the hangar once more, her intent to get some more steel to place against the walls and maybe even the gate itself if they had time. Which it would appear they didn't. A tingle shot through her body, where instinctively she gripped the controls and pulled her GM back. An explosion followed a mere millisecond afterwards as the 360mm shell fired towards her detonated with a loud crack and boom. Mei-ling's GM came out of the black smoke scorched but intact, it spinning about to face Phalanx Three, whom was on sentry duty.

She laughed, adrenaline pumping through her from that surprise attack.

"Here come the dogs of war, eager for a bone from their master, the God of War! One Dom confirmed unless a Zaku can suddenly fly or a blue Gouf's an enemy non-player character." She would say, doing a quick check over her load-out and status as she got up against the wall next to Phalanx Three.

"They got here faster then I thought they would. So let's prepare a warm welcome for our guests, shall we, Phalanx?"

Alex smirked as the Dom approached, it was faster then he originally thought. He didn't have time to explain to the others just to shout "Enemy attack! Phalanx Four closing in!". The GM Command roared to life as it made a hop over the wall into the courtyard the Dom was moving into. Before he could get close the Dom had already taken a powerful leap into the air above him. Turning his GM Command toward the Dom while it was in the air, Alex stayed behind the Dom and watched it. "Where are you going?" he asked.

He watched as the Dom opened fire on the base, taking note of only two shots. "I'll wait for it to land, then jump him from behind." Alex said. He also watched as it slowed down in mid air and then sped back up to try and land sooner. The pilot of the Dom was crazy, since slowing down and then speeding up to get to the ground sooner risks him crashing. Alex was by the buildings watching as the Dom flew backwards toward him and he grinned. He watched the Dom get closer as it was getting near it's landing point.

He was waiting back near the buildings, opening fire on the Dom as it hit the ground with the 90mm Bullpup. Hit or not he didn't care, he just knew he had to take this guy down before he could get back. After firing off the fifteen rounds of 90mm Bullpup at the Dom, Alex kicked the thrusters on launching the GM Command forward. Left hand dipping back to the waist to grab a beam saber. Alex manipulated the controls to get a shoulder to hip slash across the Dom's torso to try and silence it with one solid motion. "Hit him!" Alex shouted.

"Roger that, Phalanx One. By the way, found nothing here. Been wasting my time searching for imaginary weapons"

William gripped the orbs in his hands and readied his weapon and shield in his GM's hands. With haste, he turned his GM out and walked to take a look on the situation outside. From the radio call he heard eariler one of the enemies attacked without the others. Considering the weapon it was carrying was explosive, most likely some sort of launcher or bazooka, standing out in the open would be unwise. Cover was the best course of action to take here so William walk back into the hanger to hug one of the sides of the door, rifle at the ready.

"Phalanx. Do we have visual of the other targets yet? If they plan on attacking us from multiple angles it would be wise for some of us to stay in reserve to react to those attacking from the flank or rare. We don't want to lose our advantage here and stand outside of terran that benifits us." He had to keep his eyes open. Looking from behind the hanger's interal wall he watched for the incoming threat. They wouldn't attack from the front, it would be a disadvantage to them due to how the terran and the base was set up around them.

Hideo made a face as he followed Akira into cover. "Yup, gotcha. Beauty of this thing is the engines on it, but darn am I itchin' for a run" he chuckled, his eyes scanning to find natural cover in the urban outskirts. That was the funny thing about colony simulations: there was really no suburbia. His Dom kept the bazooka at the low-ready, which for a Dom meant slung under the shoulder. It could be fired over-shoulder or under, each just as effectively, and that suited him just fine. Another thing was that he could keep the foot turbofans on the Dom legs running for a long time, but the sound they made increased with speed. To go slow meant to be quiet, but if he needed to move fast, throttling them was what needed to be done. Oh the desire to go fast.

He went over the "simulated" data that was sent about the rival Gunplas. He had no idea if he had been spotted, but by now it wouldn't matter anyway.
