William walked around in the gunpla shop the visited yesterday for a battle event. He recently fought his first battle and decided to obtain a gunpla of his own to use with relying on events to supply him with theirs. He asked the person at the counter for a place to start looking and he was guided to the many isles in the back of the shop.

The first section of the shop was large scale kits. Not exactly suited for gunpla, but fun to collect and build none the less. The second section seemed the latest release section. William didn’t exactly know what to look for in a gunpla so he skipped this section to look for something older and stable. The third section of the shop seems to be a “Clearance” section. Discounted, excess gunpla with damage to the box. Seems that the shopkeepers were trying to get rid of them. William stopped passing by and decided to check out this section in case he could pick up a bargain.

“Right... Let’s look here… “ZSSA”... An exposed backpack but it looks to be a solid missile carrier.” He put the box down on the floor and kept going through the stock. “Strike Gundam... Hmm... This doesn’t look too bad”. Again, William put down the box on the floor as he looks at more options. “Montero.. A nice balance there”. Once again, he puts down the box with the others, weighting up his options.
“Hmm?” William went as he noticed a dusty box at the back of the shelf that now revealed itself behind the removed boxes. It stood alone from anything else. Reaching out, he pulled the box out of its hiding spot and swept away the thick layer of dust that held to it like a moth clings to a source of light.

“RX-78GP00 Gundam “Blossom?”. He noticed that there wasn’t another copy of this gunpla in the shop, nor that the box wasn’t damaged like the rest. Perhaps it wasn’t a popular model and it was kept in low stock... but that seemed unlikely as this shop always seems to keep high numbers. Perhaps it was unpopular? Maybe a fault in its design? Or perhaps it was rare?
In any case, William glossed over the box over and over like he was mesmerized at what he found.

Among the many visitor that day there was a rather unique young lady, despite her looks she was formally dressed with a dark blue business woman attire complimented by a white under shirt and skirt that reached just above her knees.Normally Jane would avoid a place like this but today after coming out of work she decided it was time to see what the Gunpla battle phenomenon was really all about. It was rather surprising to see people from all ages and backgrounds visiting the store ranging from socially awkward otakus, preppy looking teenage girl and even grown up men with a few westerners and pacific islanders thrown into the mix as well.

Not only the sheer diversity captivated her attention, the further Jane walked into the store she stumbled upon some really cool looking robots and while she was an avid video gamer the curious woman had no idea what was the deal with all these different designs that came in all shapes, colors and flavors. ' Its no wonder Gunpla battle is so popular then.' If people where allowed to play with these cool looking robots then it made a lot of sense the hobby popularity suddenly skyrocketed like this.

While browsing the rest of the store Jane stumbled upon a really good looking young gentleman who was digging out a box out of a shelve. Despite her short stature amd petite looks Jane was not shy so she approached the man as he observed the box belonging to the rare GP00 Blossom. " oh, that's exactly the robot I was looking for." spoke up the small woman not bothering to hide her new Zealander accent while smiling heartily after walking up to the Australian gentleman. of course she had no idea what the GP00 was, she was only trying to strike up a casual conversation. From the looks of it chances where such a good looking fellow was picking it up as a gift for a younger relative or maybe his son. " or is it? man, most of these Gendumbs look almost the same." This wasnt her trying to feign ignorance, Jane really didnt know better,

William raised his eyebrows at the woman who approached him. Despite how she was dressed her age belied her. She looked 15, but she acted like she was 10 years older then that. Still, her accent was something noteworthy. A new Zealander, perhaps? Back when he used to be in the army William used to work with 2 new zealand transfers who were part of a joint army project.

"It's pronounced gundam. Miss" William spoke. He decided to hold his tone in check, especially in a public place like this. She may look young, but if anything he remembers what his father said about women, and that's to treat them with respect. "There is something for everybody I believe. While many do have similar looks they can vary greatly in performance, weapons, size and function. I'm new to this myself so I'm looking for something that fits me."

William wiped away the rest of the dust of the box of the GP00, and began to put back the boxes he misplaced on the floor on the shelves where they belonged. He holds the box with one of his hands and starts to walk for the counter.

"You looking for one yourself?"
William asked.

" Gondom, right! you can drop the miss part, mate, name's Jane but my friends call me little Jane. wanna be my friend?" It would take a few more tries for Jane to get the pronunciation right but so far she was making progress when taking her accent into account. " heh heh heh 'size'." cackled the mischievous young looking girl unable to resist the immature urges to turn that informative comment into a twisted joke. " What a coincidence! i'm also new to this first time I come to this store myself. I guess you could say i'm looking for one but its not going to be easy with all of these different models on display. These are kinda tiny, though." She was slightly dissapointed by the small scale of the majority of the 1/144 models until she found an HGUC Sazabi. " oh look at this sweet ass robot." Unlike the other kits the Sazabi was a towering monster compared to the rest but it could use a glossy purple coat of paint.

William noticed the size of the Sazabi was a good head taller than the others, it was especially wider than the others. It was a rather amusing to measure the size difference between the average gunpla that was here, along with the size of it's future fighter.

"Friend huh? I guess i wouldn't mind." He said. William didn't really know people in Japan. Despite his two years living here, he didn't really fit in well with others. Perhaps it was because of the culture, or perhaps he missed those he could relate to. He kept moving around in japan.

- I guess i could stick around for a while - He though to himself. Being near this set of shops would be handy in the future as well.

"As a first sign of friendship. Allow me to buy this gunpla for you."William grabbed the 1/144 Sazabi Jane was interested in and placed it on top his own and started to walk to the counter.

This sudden proposition made Jane blink twice. " That's real kind of you, bro." If this good looking fella wanted to buy the gunpla for her then she wasn't going to stop him. " i'm all about equal relationships so as a token of appreciation why dont we play a few battles? I saw that there's an area where they let people put these together and take them to those holographic tables to play, you know us Gendems newbies have to stick together and all that." William seemed really eager to make new acquaintances , after all the two of them where westerners and even though Jane was partially japanese she'd spent most of her life in the anglo sphere. " so, where ya from, handsome? i'm from Christschurch in the southern islands but i've been livin' here for three years. You look like a Brisbane sorta guy, no offence!" Commented the curious Jane right after William was kind enough to cover the Sazabi expenses and his own GP00 at the register. It was a nice change to talk to someone in English again so she was a bit more chatty than usual.

" Thank you and have a nice day." chimed in the cashier lady once the purchase was completed as she put the two kit boxes in a sack with the receipt of the purchase inside handing it over to William.

Minako meanwhile was bored, so very very bored. Since she didn't have school today she had decided to take the chance to wander the city, looking for something fun to do. She was wearing a simple black and white dress that reached her knees and black knee high boots. Eventually she found herself wandering into G-Muse, not to buy anything but simply to look around.

As she walked through the building she was not for the first time amazed at the variety of people around the store. It was always amazing how a hobby such as this could bring together so many different types of people of different ages, social status, and even nationalities. It was actually part of the reason why she had decided to come in here, she loved watching the different groups of people interacting.

Speaking of watching different types of people interacting, there was a particularly interesting pair, both of them seeming to be foreigners, that had caught her gaze. She didn't want to approach and ruin their conversation though so she simply decided to stay hidden, flattening herself up against a shelf and peeking around the corner, listening and watching, following them if necessary. This was definitely going to be fun.

William shuffled around with the bag as he grabed and passed over the Sazaki to Jane as he turned to anwser her question."Actually, a small town in victoria. Ever heard of the town Blackwood?".

William turned his head noticed the hobby supplies on one of the shelves near by. He didn't have anything to use when building gunpla and it would have "Hmm... there is alot of other things we should pick up while i'm here. Tools, markers, paint, brushes and a few other things". He points to the shelf next to where Mianko was hiding by. "Good to stock up". William grabs a plastic basket and started to walk over.

"Right, lets see.. cutters, files, every color of paint, line markers, one of every brush, one of..." he casually speaks out as the others watched him grab everything his arms could reach. The people around him became perplexed at the rather greedy shopper William have become. "And this should do for starters" The plastic basket he had in his hand was loaded almost to the top with as many hobby items as you could think up, the worth of the lot of them had to be somewhere between $500 to $600 dollars.

"This should do for starters. Hey Jane, you said there was a area for assembly right?"

"Cant say I have, One of my friends was from Ballarat. always kept telling me about this fancy ass alpine resorts. I dont like snowy weather, i'm cold as it is." Casually continued Jane with the conversation paying little mind to how William so calmly filled the basket with hobby supplies. It was odd seeing a tourist spending so much money in this alone instead of Tokyo's frenetic wild life and prostitution parlors, but to each their own."Excuse me, missy." With a smile the purple haired girl politely told Mina to move over so she could get a few things from the shelve. She was happy with the Sazabi kit she'd gotten for free so the only supply she really needed was a hobby knife, pair of markers and pliers which she paid with her own money. " Yeah I saw some kids putting together some of these kits in tables over there." The shorter woman was glad to walk Will to the area she mentioned earlier, as expected from a day like this there where only a couple of other fellow gunpla enthusiasts assembling their kits over a space of three large tables so there was plenty of room to choose from.

" This things remind sport car with all its curves and stuff. Red is kinda over used so I might give it a coat of glossy purple." Truth to be told she'd expected her new friend to be a city boy as opposed to a country fellow, would certainly explain his rugged handsome look.

Minako did move over though she couldn't help a pout even with how polite the incredibly short woman was. Oh well, at least the woman hadn't realized that she had actually been stalking her and her.. acquaintance. It irritated her though that her cover had been blown within just a few short moments because she had chosen a poor hiding spot. She watched the woman walk away, her head tilted slightly to the side. What did she do now? She couldn't really follow them around now, though she was still fairly intrigued by them. Well.. if push came to shove actually initiating contact would be the best plan. For now though she walked over to the assembly area herself, looking around so as to not make it look like she was following the pair.

"You know, purple is a color of nobility you know?" William quotes. He doesn't really remember where he heard that from. School perhaps? A TV show he watched as he drank at one of the night time bars he lingers at. Noting that he still hadn't paid for his supplies yet, he turned around from Jane's point of view. "One second Jane. Let me buy this stuff."

William walked over to register and paid for everything he picked up before, a quick swipe of a card and it was done thanks to modern convenience, before returning to where Jane was. When he got back he sat down and placed the box holding his gunpla in front of him. He just now noticed the box size between the Sazabi and his own was equal in size, perhaps slightly larger, despite the Sazabi looking considerably larger in size. The extra size must come from the core fighter it comes with.

In any case, William opened up the box to find parts of all shapes and sizes still on their frame. This took him back, back when he was a kid he used to build all sorts of kits with his father. Model aircraft, tanks, dioramas.. He got good at it later on and started to make impressive displays. William was sure he could apply his old hobby skills to gunpla. After all, the principles is the same. Grabbing and shuffling though some of the tools in basket, he grabbed out what he needed and started to analyse the gunpla's instructions.

"This looks like it will be fun to build. The parts don't require glue it seems and just snap fit together. No fuss or mess."

" It is also the colors of the Sacramento Kings, the Ballas gang and the most popular tone for phallic sexual toys ... not that I would know why is that." Jane eyes widened in surprise after that last part. Her hair was also light purple. " Sure." patiently she awaited until Will returned not seeming to regret spending so much money on hobby supplies. " You seem like a hard worker, Will. i'm an insurance agent for a company based at Shibuya." inquired the smaller girl curious about what did her new friend did for a living as she sat down in front of him , setting the Sazabi box and other tools on the table. " its also cool how these are molded in different colors instead of being a plain gray tone all over. Red is sorta overrated, though." While the Sazabi was very awesome looking in a mean, circular shaped way the original tone seemed really unoriginal.

"Interesting descriptions of purple there.". William had to fight the urge to laugh at such a comment. He didn't want to embarrass her in front of the public. "Insurance agent huh? Must be nice having a job. I myself is actually unemployed. Have been for 2 years. I find it kind of hard to find work in my field of expertise.".

William hopefully didn’t want that part of the conversation to keep going. If push comes to shove however he would have to come up with a lie of some sort. While he was effectively removed from his past life, it wouldn't be wise to give others details about it, especially if they had the right connections to call up on it."I have to agree with the colouring here. It's quite a nice change from what I’m used to, and red is most of the time too bright as an effective colour. You would stand out far too easily, especially in the open. Just like the color white.. which is... everywhere....hmmm."

The default coloring of most gunpla confuses william.

It was unexpected to hear that answer, however Jane was smart enough to pick up the hint and dropped the topic coming to the conclusion he must have been rich. What could be his 'field of expertise', though? Judging by his natural tan and lean muscular complexion he was no bureaucrat. Maybe he was a wealthy farmer, certainly he fitted the profile of an outback cowboy. The more Jane thought about it the more she compared this to a romantic novel.

" You bet most of these Gundams are white, red and blue. I thought it was a japanese show not American propaganda." On each table there was a book with helpful tips for first time builders which included thinning paints and washing the kits. Jane found it very informative and gave it a brief reading before passing it over Will in case he needed it. " Maybe its meant to blend in a comic convention!" Was the conclusion the quirky young looking woman came up with.

"Since when does low profile colouring or effective camoflarge mean american propaganda? With how it is now it's asking to get shot miles away regardless of what country is involved." He replied with enthusiaism. Perhaps a little too much. Talking about topics that relate to warfare meant that william could relate very well and the talk about visability was close enough in that regard.

Err..Anyway. Lets see how these gunpla fit together. William spoke with a more straight voice like before. He grabs the instruction manual and the cutters and begins looking at the peices on the frame.

" Chill out, buddy. I was talking about the white, red and blue color palette." Jane was not the kind of woman to get easily intimidated, instead she raised her voice to match Will's. Clearly this was a mere misunderstanding so she was more than willing to forget about it. " I'm all about rule of cool and all that but there are colors that simply have no business being on a cool looking robot, like puke green, outside of a matching camo pattern or some shit.." Now that Jane was more confident around Willian she began letting her tongue loose as it was usual for her.

" There arent that many pieces, i'll get this motherfucker done in no time. Hey wanna go grab some beers later? I know this nice bar not far from here. With the money you saved me getting this big guy I can pay for the first two buckets of the night. imported beer, of course! none of that watered down japanese bullshit.." Since they where speaking in english Jane was even more confident to raise her voice in that obnoxiously playful tone she had't used in a while.

William was taken aback by the sudden..'relaxation' of her speech, not that he really cared at all. During his military training days he had to deal with enough foul laugange from both his superiors and his fellow recruits to simply just ignore it's impact. "Being cool will attract the wrong attention. Just saying.".

Noting the larger and simpler body parts of his friend's gunpla, he had to comment. "At least your Gunpla has lots of simple, large peices for it's body... mine is going to take a while.". The many peices of the body itself was not just for the gunpla itself but also the core fighter that comes with it, not to mention the connector peices for the fighter and the gunpla's body itself. The complexity of this kit might had been what made this kit not as popular as others. From the looks of things, it's going to take alot longer for himself to finish this kit then how jane is going over on her Sazabi.

He smiled at the idea of drinking with a friend at least. Drinking alone for such a long time has made the times spent at the bars...dull to put it at the least. "I'll take you up on the beers. Don't mind a drink myself.. helps me relax my thoughts."

" Awesome! i'll drink you under the table." It was pleasant to see that Will wasn't making any comments about the fact she looked like some underage chick, Surely Jane didnt need to prove she was old enough to have a drink though no one believed her until she flashed her ID. In reality Jane wasnt a big fan of bars , though they did play good music. it was depressing to go all by herself not to mention it was cheaper to get shit faced home but now she at least had some company, certainly no one would bother her when accompanied by William.

After a little while Jane was almost done putting together the Sazabi large legs and was now assembling the arms, making sure to seam all the marks. each one of the limbs gave a good sense of scale when compared to other 1/144 scale models. " So, does it turn into a plane? oh wait the Jet thingy is actually some sort of component? I'm at loss here." It was no wonder Will would consider this so time consuming when taking into account the intricate design he was working with.

"I don't think you can out drink me, lady. My body is stubbon." William chuckled and smirked at the idea of a night of heavy drinking.

"About my Gunpla..." William showed jane the back of the box of the GP00 and shows her the core fighter and the gunpla joined together at the back. "Well, it does this".

"Seems it can detach itself from the body mid battle. Either as a escape or to be used as a additional way of attacking since it can take it's equipment with it. I guess that's one thing with gunpla I have to like and that it is creative in how things work.. William finishes up the core fighter with the torso and begins to connect the two together. The fighter's bulk sticking out of the back like a waist mounted cape of sorts. He places the finished body down and begins to clip out the legs.

" Fancy stuff! according to the manual this Wasabi had an escape pod in the shape of a ball that goes inside the head." For Jane reading basic hiragana was not a big issue, after all her Japanese mother had taught her all three alphabets since young age which she found needlessly complicated. Despite her status as a dual citizen she was only a quarter Japanese, her eastern heritage was not obvious at first glance. " Almost done ... " After a little while longer all that was left to assemble was the upper body. " These are pretty simple to build." Before long all that was left was putting the weapons together. " Wonder if we could do like cooperative battles."

There was an empty holographic table in the back which always picked up random maps
