Roleplaying is a massive part of Hogwarts Roleplay, and being able to properly roleplay will ensure you don't get into trouble and can advance (progress to the next year). Out of Character (OOC) speech. If you want to speak out of character, always add a '[]' before or after the line. This is to help other players recognise that you're speaking about something that isn't directly related to your character, the storyline or the school. Actions If you wish to do an action, use a '*' or '-' at the beginning and end of the line. This shows that you are performing an action rather than speaking. This is vital in performing spells, as actions will show the spell being cast and how well it worked. Dueling Casting spells in a duel needs to be fair and precise. Mis-spelling any incantations means the spell will not work. A duel must also be equal, with both duellers casting equal amount of spells. Unforgivable Curses must not be used. Duellers can only use spells that they have learned, as spells are appropriate to the duellers level of knowledge. For instance, a first year dueller would not be able to use Bombarda as it is too advanced. When duelling, one dueller casts the spell and the other has to appropriately react. The dueller that has cast the spell cannot dictate how the other dueller reacts. Duellers must be fair and allow themselves to be injured or eliminated from the duel. Remember, you are students who will get hurt by spells. Proper duels need more than one line of speech, allowing the other dueller time to attempt to protect themselves. |
