~H~ogwarts Community Rules Key: PRR = Hours of posting rights removal DB = Days banned MI = Moderator intervention All users will receive ONE verbal warning before they get a sanction overall. You will not get a verbal warning for each rule broken. It is possible to get more than one verbal warning depending on time between your last sanction. 1. Misdemeanor Infractions The following infractions, once broken, will result in a fixed 6 hr PRR, per incident, after a Verbal Warning and will not increase the warning level. Double Posting/Spamming Necroposting Autoplay Social Media Personal information & users under the age of thirteen Cybersexual images and text Excessive Swearing Double posting/Spamming - You are not to post two or more consecutive posts in any section of the forum. If you want to bump a thread in which you were the last poster, you must wait 48 hours. Posting more than twice, or bumping before 48 hours will be considered spam and you shall be warned accordingly. Spamming a thread with something that does not relate to the original topic is sanction-able. Necroposting - The revival of topics that haven't been posted in for a maximum of six months is allowed, if the revival can be seen to benefit or directly relate to the topic at hand. The revival of old topics for the sake of reviving them will result in moderators locking those topics. Repeatedly reviving old topics for no reason will result in a sanction. Pinned topics are exempt from this rule. Autoplay - You may include music or other appropriate audio in your topics, however using the autoplay feature is not permitted. The dimensions of the music bar should be large enough to include the Play / Pause button as well. To make sure autoplay is not enabled, be sure that the URL does not include "autoplay" in it. Social media - The social media sites 'TinyChat' and 'tumblr' are not to be directly linked to, other sites may be linked to, but if the links contain content forbidden on the forums, we retain the right to remove them. Images hosted on tumblr are allowed, as long as they do not break existing forum rules. Personal information & users under the age of thirteen - Users under the age of thirteen are not allowed to post any personal information or links to personal information on the forums, this includes photos or video footage of an under thirteen. Other members are advised to exercise caution when sharing personal information, if the moderators feel there is significant risk they reserve the right to remove your personal information from the forums. Cybersexual images and text - Whilst we're not attempting to infringe upon your rights by banning cybersexual behaviour, we do insist that you do not post screenshots relating to, or capturing the act of, cybersex. Writing things of sexual nature will also not be encouraged. Intention of the image and/or text will also be taken into account. Excessive swearing - Curse words are not to be used excessively nor are they to be directed to any member. Excessive means more than 2-3 times per topic although context of the use of the words might trigger the infraction.Refrain from using inappropriate language, including language that may look, sound like, stand for, hint at, abbreviate, or insinuate profanity, hate speech (including but not limited to racial, ethnic, or religious slurs), illegal drugs/controlled substances or illegal activities. 2. Trolling/Baiting - The spamming or trolling of any thread is forbidden. Posting 'troll' responses such as "u mad?" or posting something unrelated to the topic is considered spam. Minimum Sanction: 24 hr PRR Maximum Sanction: 14 DB 3. Plagiarism & copyright infringement - Posting content that is not yours is considered plagiarism if you do not have permission from the original creator of the content and do not cite the source(s) used. In the case that a post is found with plagiarized content, the user will be given a warning by the mods to fix the post within twenty-four hours. If the user fails to do so, he or she will be sanctioned. Minimum Sanction: 24 hr PRR Maximum Sanction: 7 DB 4. Leaking/Account Sharing - Leaking, or the distribution of any information inside the Mod/SS Dens or the bathrooms is strictly prohibited and will result in the appropriate punishment. Upon discovery of the leak, your access to the Den/Bathroom will also be revoked/removed. Users are also prohibited from sharing accounts with one another. Sharing accounts could lead to personal information of other members to be compromised through personal messages or the access to forbidden subforums. Minimum Sanction: 7 DB Maximum Sanction: 30 DB 9. Avoiding punishment - The evasion of a forum punishment by use of another account (be it yours or someone else's) or any other means to access the forums will result in a punishment for everyone involved, including an extension on the main account's punishment. Included under this rule is the use of a spare account to fake, even if not used to avoid a ban. The banned member will not be able to access or post on the forums with or without a third party's help. You won't be able to do these things on behalf of a banned member: - Posting an application - Posting an IC log (e.g. MLE, Healer, Professor) - Sending a report (e.g. traits and abilities) Reports and/or IC logs through Skype, Habbo Message, etc. can be accepted by the respective HoD but it is left up to their discretion. Minimum Sanction: 24 hr PRR Maximum Sanction: 30 DB. Serious cases can result in a permanent ban 11. Bullying and Harassment - Bullying and Harassment directed towards members of our community are not permitted when it comes in the form of something with malicious intent or thoughtless provocation. Harassing another member is also not allowed and this includes, but is not limited to, sexual or verbal harassment. If a member or members of the community have behaved inappropriately towards another, the victim or a 3rd party associate may report this to the moderator team. In the event of such a report, the accused, the victim, and any witnesses may be asked to provide a statement regarding the events. If the moderators find the incident(s) to be unacceptable by the guidelines below, then the individual involved will be sanctioned. Guidelines: - Threatening OOC behaviour/speech - Violent OOC behaviour/speech - Direct insult - A deliberate attempt to make someone look bad - Using a disagreement to justify a personal comment about an individual - Pressuring another member to share personal information to you Minimum Sanction: 24 hr PRR Maximum Sanction: 14 DB 12. Each side will have the opportunity to provide evidence in the form of screenshots or a maximum of two witnesses per side. If the moderators find the incident(s) to be unnacceptable by the guidelines below, then the individual involved will be sanctioned. Guidelines: - Sexism - Racism - Homophobia - Religious persecution - Xenophobia - Ageism - Any other recognised group within society Minimum Sanction: 24 hr PRR Maximum Sanction: 14 DB The Car Kids Clause For the majority of cases all punishments will be within the parameters given. In the following cases the moderators are allowed to go out of the parameters to give a sanction: - Trolling Accounts - Hacking Threats - Posting Porn - Spreading Child Porn - Direct Insulting* - Bullying* *In the case of DA and Bullying, the Car Kids Clause can only be used when the CONTENT of those actions is of extreme nature. In simpler terms, the mods can go beyond the established punishment measures when the action is illegal and/or breaks the ToS with Zetaboards. Notes - The Administrators and Moderators reserve the right to edit or remove your posts with a valid reason, with or without consent or notification - These rules are in conjunction with the zetaboard terms of service you agreed to upon signing up to the forums, which can be found: here - Each rule has it's own chain of punishments, so a verbal warning for one rule does not mean you will jump to the second level of punishment if you break a different rule. - All sanctions above a verbal warning will be accompanied with a ten percent warning level increase. - If a user reaches a combined total of 70% on their warning level, even if spread across multiple rules, then a moderator intervention will take place to try and curb the rule breaking. -If your account is banned or has it's posting rights removed you are not allowed to ask another user to post for you, the only exception to this is that you may ask another member to post up an application for you. They aren't however allowed to post any response(s) for you after the posting of the initial application. -If a member is found to be lying or hiding information from the forum moderators with intent to protect another user, then they will also be sanctioned. -Punishment and sanctions given in the past under a different set of rules are still valid and do not merit any pardon in the event the rules change. -If knowledge is withheld from a person who clearly has information on an offense that puts our forums or our members directly in danger, they can be banned for withholding that information. The only events considered to be a danger to our forums are situations where hacking related actions would put our forums or FiendFyre in danger and when there is nudity spread or personal information, which results in an illegal act, used against a member of the community. To find someone guilty of withholding information there must be irrefutable evidence of that, gossip or hearsay is not a good basis for this. - These rules cover the forums, `H`ogwarts affiliated rooms, Habbo mass messaging, and Skype, if said message is directed to the community at large about a member of the community. All other media are outside our jurisdiction, unless the matter is brought within our jurisdiction by a member of the community or the moderators and admins feel the perpetrator is a direct threat to the members of the community. The moderators will still take reports from all other media and a sanction will be decided off the severity of the report. -The Whistle Blower Protection Act of 2016, is a Hogwarts community rule that protects Mod/SS whistle blowers who work with high management (SS/Mods) and report agency misconduct. A Mod/SS Team violates the whistle blower Protection Act if they take (or threaten to take) retaliatory personnel action against any employee or applicant because of disclosure of information by that employee or applicant. Whistle blowers may file complaints or use third parties to do so that they believe reasonably evidences a violation of a rule or regulation; gross mismanagement; gross waste of FiendFyre funds; an abuse of authority/power; or a substantial and specific danger to public health or safety. In the case of a third party, this person cannot be punished or threatened to be punished for withholding the name of the whistle blower. - Actions that are illegal in the United States of America and the offended party's country of residence are considered against the rules of `H`ogwarts. - Questions that go un-posted and unresolved for a week or more can be resolved without the original poster's permission. - Members may not use someone else's photo as their avatar or put it in their signature without the consent of the member in the photo. - If another user is caught making a false report, they will receive a sanction. This can include, but is not limited to, lying about the situation or tampering with the evidence. -Any posts or topics that contain sensitive material that may offend or trigger members of the community require a trigger warning placed in either the topic title, description or beginning of text. Such offensive/triggering topics include but are not limited to: -Rape -Violence -Mental illness (includes self-harm) -Suicide -Incest -Graphic text/images If you're unsure if your topic/post needs a trigger warning, you may ask a moderator. Appeals: - An appeal may only be requested if your ban is greater than or equal to a month. You may contact a Senior Staff member or a Global Moderator and display accurate evidence as to what you have done to improve yourself after the ban. Any and all attempts to continue hassling a mod before/during/after your appeal's verdict may result in your loss of your right to appeal and/or a longer ban time. The amount of months you must wait to appeal for your bans are as follows: When you reach 100% warning level you must wait 3 months before you are able to appeal. If your appeal is declined, you must wait an additional 3 months. When you reach 120% warning level you must wait 6 months before you are able to appeal. If your appeal is declined, you must wait an additional 6 months. When you reach 130% warning level you must wait 1 year before you are able to appeal. If your appeal is declined, you must wait an additional year. Edited by thebiggeek102, Oct 24 2016, 05:16 PM.
