It was a candlemark before R'kevel had said wing drills were supposed to start. And where did little miss Sashati find herself? In her weyr with a certain strong substance sliding down her throat. Already she had drank much more than her petite frame should be able to hold and she would sway precariously if she stood. Mine... You know you shouldn't be drinking that, it makes you all funny... It's really fun sometimes, but R'kevel said that if you show up to drills drunk there will be serious consequences! I don't want you to get in trouble dear one... I don't mean to question you but... Are you sure you should be drinking that stuff? The sweet little blue voiced his concerns to his lifemate, watching her stumble as she moved to the other side of her room. "Oh Kalian, m'dear Kalian, we truly have... We have... Nothing. We've no-thing to fear. R'kevel won' back up his" Her words were punctuated by a loud hicup. "threats." She finished with a little grin. Her words were slurring themselves and her voice a bit more high pitched than normal. Oh this was proving to be a fun day...
The morning had started out terrible, dreams plagued the girl of her former lover and his handsome bronze, but dreams of the sickness that stole him away turned those lovely dreams into nightmares of the most horrid sort. And this led to early drinking and continued through the morning until the afternoon. Yet now quickly approaching was the time for the wing drills that afternoon. Kalianth was getting more and more edgy and uncertain. Sure Sashati could be fun while intoxicated, yet she also insisted on doing dangerous things... She was daring and eager to try new things while drunk and today promised to be no exception if nothing was done about it.
Kalianth eyed his beloved lifemate as she stumbled about the weyr seeming rather agitated. Dear one... Drills will be starting in less than a quarter of a candlemark... He was highly hessitant to mention this and his mindvoice was soft, but Sashati flew into motion, yelping as she tripped over her feet and fell on her face in her hurry to get the riding straps. She quickly jumped up earning a series of concerned chitters from her beloved little tunnelcat. "M'fine really Rosco... Jus-fine..." She couldn't help the giggles that rose from her as she stood unsteadily to her feet before moving purposefully toward her dragon. She strapped him up, getting them, for the most part, correct. Kalianth looked them over before nudging his beloved lifemate gently. Dearheart... Are you going to be alright to fly? I'm worried about you... Sasha nodded quickly, swaying on the spot. "O'course my love... I'll be jus-fine, don' worry about me..." She smiled and patted his flank gently before moving to scramble up on his back, sort of securing herself into the straps. "Alright! Onto the drills!" She crowed out as punctuation to her statement and Kalianth would comply, flying down from their weyr as carefully and easily as he could.
He was nervous about heading for the place where wingdrills were to be held. He just knew Sashati would get into trouble, maybe him as well! And he dreaded facing Wachieth and his rider. Yes! Wachieth! He would warn Wachieth! Surely things would go easier if he did that... So with that he would make contact with the onyx dragon. Wachieth my friend... I hope yours is in a jovial mood... Mine... Made a mistake today and she is completely... Well intoxicated. He cringed internally as he spoke, but flew on toward the training grounds anyway. Thankfully today was for unmounted drills, at least she couldn't get herself as hurt as when they performed in the skies. That was a little bit of relief to the little blue as he flew toward where the wing was gathering. R'kevel was already there, likely with a couple others and the little blue came in for a landing. Sashati giggled gleefully clearly far gone as they landed. Kalianth winced as he stumbled a little due to her leaning too far to one side, but they made it safely to the ground.
"'LO R'KEVEL!" Sashati called out in her most boistrous and flirtatious voice, waving cutely to him before trying to get out of her straps. Alas one of her feet caught and down she tumbled, foot turning so it didn't cause any damage, to hang the woman at her dragon's side. Kalianth cringed and lay down trying to ease the pressure that would have been put on Sasha's trapped foot. Her shoulders and upper back found the ground and she hung upside down grinning like an idiot. My oh my but she was in a GOOD mood. Soon enough she reached up with both hands to try and undo the strap and untangle her foot. Before long she succeeded and fell the rest of the way to the ground in a very unladylike fashion with a loud 'oof'. Kalianth snaked his head over to nose her in concern rather thankful that Rosco hadn't decided to join them, or else he'd be all over hissing at everyone to stay back from the intoxicated girl. Sashati lay there for a moment, staring at the skies as she tried to get her bearings. Finally she grabbed gently only Kalianth and pulled herself upright. It was obvious that something was amiss, and if Wachieth hadn't told R'kevel, he'd be able to guess on his own.
Sashati swayed a little on her feet before performing a bit of a salute to R'kevel. "Sashati and blue Kaliant reporting fr duty!" And that was followed by giggles that would have anyone raising their brows in astonishment. Something was truly wrong today, it really was. And it was true, she was so drunk that it was apperant in almost her every movement and word. Oh this day was not going to be plesant... At least Kalianth had the decency to look highly embarrased for the show his rider was putting up. Crazy girl...
Just about, besides we have a candlemark before the wing gets here.
R'kevel had set up the day's 'Drill in the training grounds since it was to be an unmounted 'Drill. They had done a lot of aerial drills lately so he figured he'd change it up some. They would be reviewing basic formations and discussing tactics to avoid during a 'Fall. Reckless behavior was one such thing they would be touching on. Unfortunately for him he didn't realize that the wing was going to get a prime example of reckless behavior thanks to a certain bluerider. He reached for his lifemate and found the onyx sunning out in the open ground in front of the training hall. The rest of the dragons would be gathering there in less than a quarter of a candlemark.
R'kevel left the sunning beast alone for the time being continuing to set up for the unmounted 'Drill. He would have liked it better outside but with it overcast and clouding up it seemed a storm was approaching so inside it was. Tables and chairs were set up to one side of the Training Grounds making it appear almost like a lecture hall. The other half was still open for those who wanted to brush up on their basic combat skills after the 'Drill if they chose to do so. Observing his work he nodded to himself finally satisfied with the setup. With that he went out to greet the wing as they arrived for the 'Drill. He felt Wachieth's sudden alertness before fury welled up in the onyx.
SHE'S WHAT?! the onyx bellowed jumping to his feet. R'kevel cringed at his lifemates sudden and harsh fury. What the shards had gotten Wachieth so angry all of a sudden?
Wachieth what's going on?! R'kevel demanded as he jogged outside in time to see a familiar blue and his rider arriving. The onyxrider frowned as Wachieth repeated Kalianth's words with a snarl. Calm yourself, Wachieth. I'll deal with her. R'kevel spoke scowling at Sashati's drunken display. At least her blue had gotten her safely here.
Mine, this is an outright display of disobedience. Tell me you aren't going to allow this! Wachieth growled and R'kevel scowled at the onyx.
Go calm yourself down before you hurt someone you arrogant beast. R'kevel chided and turned back to Sashati as she giggled. That sound was a little unnerving coming from the normally sarcastic woman. In fact this whole display was so out of character it wouldn't have taken him long at all to realize she was drunk even without Wachieth's warning. Said onyx was grumbling softly though he had calmed down. R'kevel sighed rubbing the bridge of his nose as he pondered what to do. Finally he turned a scowl to the blonde blue eyes narrowing at her. She might think it was funny to show up drunk but it was no laughing matter when she could get herself sharding killed.
"I ought to string you upside down in the weyrbowl for a candlemark for this." he spoke voice dangerously calm. It was the tone he used when he was severely pissed off and trying sharding hard not to blow up at the person who had annoyed him. "Why in Faranth's name do you think it was a good idea to show up to a 'Drill drunk?! You just endangered not only yourself but Kalianth and the rest of the wing as well. I'm extremely disappointed, Sashati, I expected a lot better from you." he added shaking his head. Oh he was pissed but he wasn't going to give Sashati the benefit of seeing it. She would see nothing beyond the calm arrogant mask of disappointment, blue eyes hard as ice.
Very nicely handled. Wachieth commented privately and R'kevel gave the onyx a slight mental nod. Wachieth could feel the bitter anger and disappointment his felt at Sashati turning up drunk. What was it with females and their ability to piss off males? Something for him to contemplate at a later time he supposed.
"Get yourself back to your weyr before you hurt yourself or someone else." R'kevel ordered sharply still scowling at the young woman. He couldn't believe her audacity. He could understand rebellion but this? This was just plain reckless. "I expect you clear headed and sober at the next 'Drill Sashati, you understand?" he demanded firmly his tone slightly harsher than maybe he'd intended. Still he was annoyed and trying not to act on the urge to shake her silly.
Still that sounded like an awfully good idea about now...
Kalianth was suddenly uncertain that telling Wachieth was a good idea and he inwardly cringed seriously wishing he could turn tail and fly off to hide in his weyr. He didn't want to face the Onyx's wrath! Oh yes if he was to wear boots, he would be shaking in them. The obvious fury in the Onyx's mind voice made the much smaller blue falter in his flight. Oh yes this would not end up well! But he didn't respond again, not feeling that any more words from him would help in the least. Instead he just continued his flight path toward the area where they were to gather.
The blue watched as Sashati engaged in that embarrasing display trying to help where he could, but there really wasn't a whole lot he could do. He felt the fury radiating off the large dark dragon and his lifemate. My Sashati... Maybe we should just go... He murmered softly to her, but she just waved him off while she tried to loose herself from the riding straps that hung her upside down at his side. Yet finally she managed to get free and upright just in time to hear his coldly delivered words.
These words shocked Sashati for a moment, but she gave that playful grin once more. "Sounds like it could be fun..." Yet his tone unnerved the young woman more than she would admit. Instead she straightened up trying to regain her typical composure, yet it was nigh impossible in this state of mind. Yet before long his cold words continued. As he spoke of endangering Kalianth, she turned to look at the little blue. She would never endanger her beloved blue... Never! She'd kill anything that tried to harm the blue... She'd protect him with her very life! When he continued on about endangering the rest of the wing she kind of wrote him off more than she should, but to endanger Kalianth... That was more than she could take. "Kalian wasn't in danger, whachoo talking 'bout? He's jus' fine!" She didn't respond much to his words on disappointment. That too was a bit more than she could handle. But finally that overly joyfulness had faded considerably and already she was starting to sober up a bit. She had really upset R'kevel and for once in her life she really cared. Yet there was more to it! A knife to her heart to find that he didn't care a shard about her! Or at least that's how it felt at the moment. He didn't care why she did what she did... Heck he probably thought she just did it out of defiance! Well heck to him if she would let him know anything different.
Kalianth watched helplessly as he felt the surging of confused emotions that welled up within his beloved lifemate. He gently snaked his tail tip around her calf higly debating on just swinging her up to his back and flying off with her. He wanted to wrap her in his wings and tell her that everything would be okay... He wanted to protect her but he knew she had to face some things without him and this was one of those things. Kalianth fixed R'kevel with those piercing eyes that whirled with worry, if only the man knew what he was doing to the woman before him. But how could he react any less? She had done something highly disrespectful even if there was legitimate reasoning behind it.
"Shar' it R'kevel and shar's to you. Mebee you 'xpect too much, 'ver think of tha'?" She hissed softly, her words slurred, yet the emotion showing more than she would have liked. But as she spoke, she felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. She fought this, but the alcohol wasn't helping in the least. She finally moved to Kalianth's side unable to argue and crawling up to sit astride her dragon, trying to secure herself. She angrily wiped at her eyes not wanting to let the rest of the wing see her like this, but not quite knowing how to stop it. Finally, without a word she nudged her little blue gently and he took off toward their weyr again.
They flew together in silence to their shared weyr and Kalianth managed to land carefully enough and Sashati dismounted. But instead of moving to her bed she just sat down right where she was, angst and a deep upset flowing through her. These feelings upset her little blue as well and he nuzzled her gently, his eyes pools of whirling yellows. He soon lay down beside her not even minding that his riding straps stayed on for now. He lowered his wing gently around her, drawing her closer to him as tears began to flow freely. "Oh Kalian'... What've I done... I'm ruinin' ever'thin'..." And yet before long the woman fell asleep against her dragon's side to sleep off the effects of the alcohol.
