Just been looking at their site to plan my route down there for 8 January

Seems the pitch is still snow-covered...

http://www.salisburycity-fc.co.uk/club-inf0

Interestingly they feature a projected final league table

http://www.salisburycity-fc.co.uk/league-table?comp=8&sort=6

... which shows us 6 points off the play-offs - I reckon 3 points at both Leamington and Salisbury should put that right!!

Well, part one successfully accomplished, and the table is suddenly looking better

http://www.southern-football-league.co.uk/league-tables/premier.asp?section=league-tables

But Saturday is going to be one heck of a tough challenge.... but maybe we can raise our game again, as we did in the home game...

Looks like it could well be a wet one on Saturday.

Looking at their record we are still the only side to beat them this season and they are yet to lose at home! Let's hope that we can do the double after the very good victory over Leamington the other day!

If you are thinking of driving to the game I would suggest coming off the M5 at Junction 11a and then going across country along the A417 past Swindon and through Marlborough and Tidworth. We go to something just past Salisbury every year and we have found this to be the best way over the years!

Got to say that we should be proud of the lads yesterday. were it not for a mad ten minutes following our goal and some highly questionable refereeing decisions (for both sides) from easily the softest referee ive seen all season we could have got a point and on another day perhaps escaped with a win.

Dunckley and Decio were superb and their number 11 was kept very quiet by Ben Bailey for the first half.

They certainly didnt enjoy being a goal down but i think their fitness levels tolled as we chased the game in the last fifteen minutes. A lot of their people said how good a side we looked so there are certainly a lot of positives to come out of the game for Tuesday and then the big Truro game on Saturday.

I thought we deserved a point yesterday, fairly even game.
Danny Quinn is the find of the season, stepped up from the Midland Comb and looks like he's played at this level for years. Six goals now I think, how many by the end of the season?

Agree lost game in a ten minutes spell but their fitness and overall skill levels of a team used to playing together seemed to edge it in the end but, we can't keep giving away penealties, at least it was not as soft as MUFC's today!!!

Very unlucky not to come away with at least a point.

And it was very interesting to spend most of the game among home fans (as there was nowhere for us away fans to congregate, due to half the ground being closed off); they spent the first half saying how good we were and the second calling us animals, thugs and dirty northern ba$tards.

I showed great restraint!!

It's a good job we don't have any aggressive supporters as some of the antics of the Salisbury fans were downright stupid.

I notice on their forum they say that we invaded their space; well we were attacking that goal second half after all! I'm sure all visiting fans take kindly to being jumped on top of when the home team scores - muppets!

The stewards just seemed more interested in making sure that you didn't stand on the yellow lines in the stand though than controlling this.

On the whole the worst thing we did was probably score as it kicked the home side into life and after a dodgy ten minute spell we found ourselves 2-1 down.

I felt we more than matched Salisbury and if you check out their forum they have praised us a lot. Some have said we are the best team that they have played this season, which is a big compliment when you consider Salisbury are still fulltime and train day in day out.

Very interesting

And yes, that incident when their left-winger skipped past two of our challenges and was clear in the box, then the ref pulled it back, was somewhat amusing

Message to Saolisbury fans, the lower down the pyramid you go, the worse the officials get, though conversely you can still find some muppets at the top level...

And yes Scott, perhaps they should have told us where they'd like us to stand, since half the ground was closed off; I understand it will all be open and segregated) when they play Wrexham in the Trophy next weekend....
