Looks like we should have a game, max 0c so wrap up warm....

forecast here -8c at 3 am so it will seem positively balmy to me over there.

Remember folks, no jolly swearing....

They really love us across at Leamington judging by some of the posts on their forum. Lets hope that we can pick up a similar result to what we got their last season.

If memory serves me right, they dont like anyone tackling their players, and words like 'flip' or 'crikey' could get you thrown out.

You are right Mick, if we dare put in a tackle then I'm sure the Leamington supporters will all be expecting a (redcard) !!!

In light of the previous posts, today was entirely predictable!!

The Brakes must practise falling over, squealing like girls and appealing every time there is a challenge, in training, they're very good at all of the above, so good indeed that when you get yet another complete muppet of a referee he falls for it every time. And biased linos complete the picture

With that in mind, and also that we didn't turn up for the first 5 minutes of each half, that was a tremendous performance and result today.

Wellecomme looks a real find - presence in the air and on the deck, chases down 40/60 balls, took his goal superbly (after Clemmo finally got one of his "world cup balls" through) and then kissed the badge - LOL

Quinny also took his goal with aplomb, passing the ball into the net.

And even Marv's impact for the last 10 minutes was terrific - blatantly shoved off the ball in his first action (ref bottled the penalty award, as he did red cards for two heathen challenges from Brakes players to whom he gave yellows instead), chopped down in his next break, and then headed into the net and flagged offside when in fact if he hadn't touched it I reckon Clemmo's free-kick was going in anyway!

In contrast to the behaviour of their players on the pitch, the club is superbly run (my 3rd visit); once you get your head round the fact that the stewards don't like you to swear (I didn't today, well, not loudly anyway) because they're trying to cultivate the "family club" atmosphere (and in the warm-up their fans even objected to their own players swearing!), it's a tremendous operation from which we can learn a lot - plenty of stewards showing you where to park (for free), eager young lads selling programmes as you walk in, plenty of food and drinks outlets, a good PA, and free mince pies on exit - a really nice gesture (though if I'd noticed they had brandy in them I might not have eaten two whilst making my way off the car-park)

I'm sure we'll be warmly welcomed back there in 8 days' time!! - but seriously, as I hear about aggro at both Halesowen and Nuneaton today, it was (muppet officials apart) a fine advert for NL football

... and no, Scott, they don't like us....

http://banter.cv31.co.uk/showthread.php?5782-Hednesford/page2

... but I daresay I wouldn't like them if they kept beating us.

It's odd, we travel a lot further south in this league, yet they're the biggest bunch of southern softies by far....

:P ;)

That win also takes us up to 5th place.

I have just read about the Nuneaton v Telford trouble and it sounds shocking to say the very least!!!!

Thanks for the links Guesty; the standard of debate on both of those forums speaks volumes about the muppetry of some (not all) followers

My reports from Yeltz were that two were ejected, woefully inadequate stewarding from the host club (for a crowd of 800+ if I recall correctly) but Stourbridge's stewards helped out and averted more serious trouble
