I won't be around yet to provide any match updates for the pre-season games .. as my brain is not yet in the footballing gear, there is too much going on outside in the garden etc - plus we have visitors down next week and the pc will not be on. I will be at Truro in August though!! Twitter updates I assume will be commencing. >> TWITTER UPDATES <<

Good research. I think someone on Twitter reckoned Wagner is Portuguese? Will be interesting to hear from those who were there how we played - lost 3-2 to a late goal, but of course the result doesn't matter a jot at this stage (not that we'd have said that if we'd won....) |

I believe Hayes was a stand in for Crane (on holiday), and the reserve keeper who had been injured at the last minute. |

Not a bad game for a friendly. We knocked the ball about well in the first half against a lively and committed Yeltz.Quinny levelled after we went 1 down and not much into the second half we made 4 subs at the same time and within seconds went 2 down.Danksy brought down for a penalty which Clem converted.Shortly afterwards we conceded the third. The result as Glyn says means nothing as it is the first proper run out and I would think the gaffer will be pleased with some of the things he has seen tonight.Wellers and Quinny looked good,Clem carried on from where he left off last season. The keeper is standing in as Craney is on his hols and as previously stated the other keeper got injured so thanks to him for helping out, despite being slightly out of position for their first he did OK otherwise. Paul Evans in goal for them in 1st half, other ex Pitmen were Marlon Walters and Justin Nisbett. Would expect to see the subs start tomorrow night with some of the others playing their second game in 2 days. Think that we will be looking good by the time the season starts. |

Halesowen were a different side to the one we saw at the end of last season, much more up for it this time. Some new recruits big lads and a couple of pacey ones playing with some aggression. A good friendly to knock off the cobwebs and shape up for the NPL. We were missing Chris Shaw (off getting wed), which meant Ben Bailey had to play on the left side of the back three instead of his usual position on the right. Mark Bradbury also then had a run out on the right hand side of defense and looked useful. Campion was captain and got himself forward a fair bit. In midfield Clemmo was looking good, not quite got the range on his free kicks yet but took a nice penalty. The big news in midfield was Jamie Osbourne who really impressed, not a dissimilar player to Clemmo in many ways. Elliot Durrell is apparently training well but won't be put into direct action for a few games. No sign of Ross Davidson. Up front Quinny looked sharp. Early days but Danks looks like he will be a great signing, exciting to watch, worked hard trying to create chances, won several free kicks. Wagner is I'm told a Portuguese introduction from Decio. Wagner, Hendrie and Big Marv had a run out up front but it was difficult to come to any overall view on them. |

Updates again on Twitter http://twitter.com/#!/Hednesford_Town A bit of tinkering with the line-up tonight, and Elliot on the bench - hope we don't rush him back... |

Another good workout against a team containing 2 ex Pitmen in their ranks.Steve Palmer and Mark Briggs both played for Wulfs and Briggsy hit the post with a free kick just after coming on at half time.Ozzie played central midfield and got better and better as the game went on.As Jas stated last night we will probably see the best of him playing there. The lads look fit and full of running, again knocking the ball around well.Hayes made a good save in the first half getting down well to push one around the post not much to do overall though.Wellers looked sharp and Danksy got better as the game went on.Clem strolled through the game and Hendrie was busy in midfield. All had a a decent game but the highlight was Elliott coming on in the second half.Hopefully he can get a few games under his belt and sharpen up his match fitness. We ended the game with Jay Denny at centre back! Ignoring the score, fitness levels look good and we are heading in the right direction - Stourbridge and Mansfield will be good tests as to how we are doing. Nice set up at AFC Wulfrunians. Well done lads. Edited by cliff edge, Jul 13 2011, 09:42 PM.

FT 4-1, thanks to Keith for keeping me posted in my continuing enforced absence Our goals from Camps (2), Thorne and Wellers, with theirs coming from a mix-up between Thorne and deputy keeper Decio I gather Dan's injury is "only a niggle" in which case thank God it's come in a PSF and it makes sense to take him off so as not to aggravate it Looks like est crows not many, let's see if we get a bumper crows for next Saturday's game, free admission and new kit launch |

Don't know what's happened to Tyree Clarke but Stuart Hendrie has signed for Hinckley. Anyone know anything about the new guys yesterday? Cliff Moyo, Ricky Nicholls and that lad who played in goal for the last hour?
