The Eye of the Board

Lali-ho! Anyone who was at the meeting last weekend remembers me as the only guy there after that one other guy left. For everyone else, my name is Ammar. I'm a young writer, having barely started my first novel. My biggest problems are with getting started, not getting sidetracked, and having enough confidence to share my bizarre ideas with other people. Hopefully Here Be Dragons will motivate me to write more and give me a nice group that I can bounce ideas off of. I typically lurk on forums but as this one in particular seems in dire need of active members, I don't know if I can get away with that on here. I'll certainly try at some point. Who knows, I might actually end my lurking days somehow! I look forward to reading, writing, and sharing works with all of you! |

Hi there, Ammar! It is good to meet you (again)! I see by your avatar that you are a League player? I considered getting into it (they have a character called Quinn! and she has a birb!) with an old Internet friend of mine, but sadly, my time is currently occupied by school, Pokemon, and arguing on reddit. Sleep optional. And yesss, do join ussss in posting way too many things on forumssss! ![]() Look forward to seeing you around! |

What would I do without the League of Legends? Probably be about 5 times as productive. If I had spent all the time I have played League up to this point on writing, I'd have finished at least three novels by now. But alas! We all have our flaws and quirks, and not the least of mine is that I'm hopelessly addicted to that game. I put a lot of effort into being as good at it as possible, and while that sounds like a waste of time to many (which to some extent is true), I've learnt many lessons along the way about how to deal with people in life. I never thought I'd say that a video game helped me with social skills, but dammit it's true. I've never joined a forum on its opening day before. Usually the forums I've joined in the past had hundreds of members already, which I found intimidating I suppose. None of that here, but it does feel a bit lonely at the moment. Hopefully the forums will fill up soon. |
