There are some things that you cannot post here, if you like your post count. Do not discuss religion, in any shape or form. Religion is a very prickly topic, and some people's beliefs may clash with others, and the safest way to prevent conflict is to avoid it. Do not discuss any involvement of any country in any war, as again people's ideas might not mesh. Do not discuss political events, or state the political party or person that you support. This is to avoid people flaming each other for being republicans (which has a different meaning out side America) or Democrats, or Liberals, or Labour, or Tories or whatever ones I didn't mention. You can post about election results, as long as you stay impartial. **More to come** |

Well right now we have a republican government, and we have two different republican parties. . Republican broadly means for democracy. Over in America it's considered unfavourably as last I heard. But here, republican means wanting independence from Britain, and we have one that wants the six counties back, and one that is broadly centred (the one in power). It kept the meaning as the party has existed since before Home Rule, before we were independent, and they have remained prominent. |

meh, democrats and republicans have there ideals really confused democrats have the "dont kill convicts" and "allow abortions" republicans are exactly the opposite or is it the other way around.....anyways, i think its all really stupid. for one, gays have the same right to marry as straights, religion and school should not be mixed together, women should be the one to say if they want an abortion or not, some people just deserve to die, open the borders and find the illegals and help them become legal, and for gods sakes, get the damn war over w/ w/ a well placed bomb. *. |

gays have the same right to marry as straights I agree, they should be allowed to have civil partnerships and to have the tax allowances, but calling it marriage isn't wholly proper, as marriage is originally the union of a man and a woman. religion and school should not be mixed together Why not? Over here the Catholic church controls over 90% of all primary schools and we constantly outscore America, so maybe they should. And also you have to remember that by eliminating religion from mainstream schools would result in a lot of people sending their children to religious schools, which would then become the mainstream ones. Women should be the one to say if they want an abortion or not Women should be allowed to abort up to... is it 20 something weeks? A foetus is not a child, nor is it alive, and up to the current limit, it is incapable of sustained life without the umbilical cord. But, after that limit the foetus is capable of life and should any doctor abort it after that time, they should be charged with infanticide. some people just deserve to die I don't see why. In some parts of New York, a black person has a longer life expectancy on death row than on the streets, so then by killing them you are actually doing them a favour. Also, the cost of death row versus life time incarceration has been used many times, and because of the amount of appeals to prove that beyond reasonable doubt that they were the perpetrator, the cost exceeds life incarcerations. Also, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, 1948, says "Everyone has the right to life, liberty and security of person". In fact, the United States Declaration of Independence specifically says that the right to life is one of the three inalienable human rights. open the borders and find the illegals and help them become legal America has open borders, it's just that the people don't meet the requirments, and anyone who had forced their way into an country has committed a crime and should be punished. and for gods sakes, get the damn war over w/ w/ a well placed bomb. There is so much wrong with this, I don't even know where to start. First off, America started an illegal war by not waiting for authorisation by the United Nations. It then started a POW camp that made itself, Britain and Ireland liable for war crimes. Second, that "well placed bomb" wouldn't do much. It could take out a city, maybe a county, but it wouldn't have nearly as much of an effect as it did in WWII. In fact, it would be counter-productive as it would be the perfect incentive for every other country to finally say "Fuck you" and launch the attack they can. And America could not win, they do not have enough atomic weaponry to defeat Great Britain alone. You really don't understand international politics, do you? Do you know why Russia and Georgia are at war? Are did you know at all? |
