{{disclaimer, this is a fanfic wrote with original characters, those are mine, I do not own any of the bleach characters nor do I get money for it}}

Chapter 1:- while they're gone

The room was dark, except for a single candle sitting upon a table in the centre of the room. Three figures stood around the table, looking at each other. One wore traditional shinigami garments, with a captain’s coat over the black garb, Captain Byakuya Kuchiki. In front of the captain stood a male, with short brown hair, wearing hakama and a black tank top, with his zanpakutou at his waist. Next to him a female stood, again in traditional shinigami clothing, her blonde hair pulled back and tied with a bow.

“I have lost the trace of Rukia Kuchiki’s spiritual pressure in Heuco Mondo. I would appreciate it if you could use your talents to find and bring her back here, Captain Yamamoto would like to see her about going to Heuco Mondo against his wishes. He feels that the human, Orihime Inoue has turned her back against us; and doesn’t believe it is worth our efforts to reach her.” Byakuya looked into the male’s eyes.

“Who am I to turn down the great sixth squad Captain Byakuya, even though, I did retire a fair while ago. I don’t know why I should lend my services to you, especially after what you allowed to happen to my sister, for that I should kill you where you stand!” The dark haired man glared into the noble Captain’s eyes, not betraying any emotion.

“You are not strong enough to defeat a captain of my level, my zanpakutou and I would kill you within mere moments. I wouldn’t even have to release it.” Byakuya fixed him with a stare.

“I can see the hormones are raging out of control as always with you two,” the female spoke, tucking a stray tendril of hair behind her ear. Smiling she picked up her cup of green tea. “Plus we all know I am the strongest within this room. Kaji-da here would slaughter the pair of you without a seconds thought.” She paused to sip her tea. “But enough of this. I will not do your dirty work. I have no interest in being in your presence, just as my friend here.” She placed the cup down and walked towards the door. “Come Ken’ichi, we have better things to do.”

Suddenly, the door slammed open and a young shinigami burst through, a hell butterfly fluttering behind him. “Captain… Captain Kuchiki! We, we have a problem, it’s the living world… Arrancar. The Arrancar are attacking, the substitute team are nowhere to be found.” The young voice shook with every word as he relayed the bad news.

“Then find the tenth squad Captain. He is in charge of Karakura town, I’m sure Captain Hitsugaya will be more than happy to help,” exclaimed the sixth squad captain, not even sparing the boy a look, his eyes still focused on Ken’ichi.

“I… I would Captain Kuchiki, sir, but he – he’s not here just now, and we cannot locate him!” The shinigami looked pleadingly at the captain for help.

“I sai–“ Byakuya started to yell when a voice cut across him.

“I’ll go,” Ken’ichi said. “It’ll give me a chance to stretch my legs. Yuroichi says Karakura town is lovely this time of year, and it’d be nice to visit my old friend Urahara Kisuke!” He smiled, turning to walk towards the door. “Yosuke Maya, you should give this mission a try; I’m sure the good captain would be willing to reward you well.” Smirking he walked out the door.

“I’ll kill you, you little… Ah never mind.” Yosuke turned to face Byakuya. “This is indeed a troublesome development, I came back in the hope of helping to save Karakura town. I guess I should go down with my friend, two fighters are better than one.” She smiled grimly at the captain and exited the room herself, tapping the young Shinigami on the shoulder as she passed him.

Walking along a dark corridor, she looked around for her companion. ‘Don’t tell me he’s already left, I best go.’ She thought to herself, as she drew her zanpakutou. Slicing into the air, she opened a doorway to the living world.

As she stepped through the doorway she could hear voices, but couldn’t make out what was being said. She walked into a small room, the voices becoming more audible.

“And that’s what you think they’re planning?” Ken’ichi stood across from a man wearing a green and white striped hat. “If that’s true, this could become pretty problematic, but you never know, it could be fun. It’s been a while since I’ve had a good challenge.”

“As overconfident as usual I see Ken’ichi-kun… although it is refreshing to see you again,” Uruhara said with a broad smile as he looked round to see the beautiful young shinigami entering the room. “Ah Maya-chan, as beautiful as ever. I see you are still with Seireitei.”

The blonde nodded. “I’ve been promoted to sensei at the training academy, helping up and coming shinigami learn how to use their powers,” she said, a bright grin spreading across her face.

From the corner of her eye she saw a young girl walk onto the room, her black hair tied in two high bunches. Walking around the room, Yosuke looked at the posters lining the walls. ‘Is this really the ex-12th captain? Why does he live in such a place?’ Turning back to the group she started at the sight of the girl in Ken’ichi’s arms.

“How’ve you been Ururu? It’s been awhile little one!” Ken’ichi smiled as he cradled the girl in his arms.

“I’ve… I’ve been good Uncle Ken!” She chirruped as he released her. She looked up at Urahara, beaming. “I’ll… I’ll just go clean up!” She skipped off.

“She’s grown, glad to see she’s looking healthy. Anyway, these pleasantries are not why were here. Apparently there has been reports of an Arrancar attack in this area, I said I’d look into it.” Ken’ichi raked a hand through his hair as he spoke. “Have you heard or seen anything?” He sighed. “Sorry that we have to meet again under such circumstances.”

“I’ve felt some surges here or there, nothing too huge.” Uruhara looked towards the entranceway as a black cat sauntered in. “Yuroichi…” A smile spread across his face.

“We have a problem Kisuke. There’s been an attack, in the centre– I can’t take them both!” She gasped. Looking up, she saw Ken’ichi had already left.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

“So many souls… So little time to digest!” A voice laughed. The tall dark man who had spoken was wearing white, a skull mask covering his right eye.

“Calm down Yin Taku!” A female Arrancar stood next to him, smiling as she watched her friend charging and releasing a Cero. A nearby building was immediately destroyed in the resultant explosion.

“Ah. I can’t help it. To think he gave us permission to have some fun! It’s just a distraction, but I can’t help but have fun.” He burst into peals of laughter again. Opening his right hand, another cero began to build. Pulling back his hand he fired it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Ken’ichi flew as fast as he could towards the two Arrancar. “Cero!” Increasing his flash steps he drew his zanpakutou. He flew onto the path of the oncoming cero and used his zanpakutou to absorb the impact before thrusting it up into the air.

His breath came in heavy gusts. He looked up at the two Arrancar. “That… was close as hell!”

“Who the hell are you to ruin our fun?” Yin Taku yelled from behind him. Ken’ichi hadn’t seen him move.

‘He’s fast.’ Ken’ichi looked backwards into the Arrancar’s partially covered eye. “Ken’ichi. Ryozen Ken’ichi, and you are?” His breath still came out in gasps.

“You’ll be dead in a moment anyway, so I’ll be honest. I don’t feel the need to share this information; you’re only required to give your name to those at the same level. Seeing how you’re an insect compared to me, all you need to know is how pathetic you are. And I will kill you!” Yin Taku snarled, smirking at him as he raised his zanpaktou for the final blow.

The smirk faded from his face as their blades crossed in a flash of light. Thoughts raced through Ken’ichi’s head in quick succession. ‘I only just managed to stop it, I might need to go to the next level.’ He pulled his arm back, slashing he aimed for Taku’s head but the Arrancar had gone before he could finish the attack. Suddenly pain exploded in his back as Yin’s sword thrust into him.

“To slow, shinigami!” Yin Taku burst into laughter, blood dripping down his blade.

Ken’ichi turned so he could see into the Arrancar’s eyes. “Feast upon his final breath, and take your seat on the throne of creation… Neo… Rei…Ryu!” He yelled, reiatsu building up around him.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

“I see he’s never changed, as hot blooded and impulsive as ever,” Yuroichi said, smiling, now changed into her human form. “But he needs to realize that he can’t handle this one alone.”

Maya’s face flushed as she looked into the eyes of the former second squad captain and she stammered as she spoke. “I should go help!”

“My my, it would appear you are blushing a little, is everything ok, Yosuke-chan?” Urahara asked, a sly smile across his face.

“Ye… Yes Urahara-kun. I… I just didn’t expect to meet the great Yoruichi Shihouin while I was here.”

“Please, call me Yuroichi!” The Goddess of Flash requested. “But we are going to have to get out there before our friend gets killed before his time.”

Maya nodded, her face still bright. ‘Soifon said it, but I didn’t think she’d be so… so humble, even to me. If this woman only knew what she meant to so many people!’ She thought to herself as she continued looking into her eyes. “I will go now Yoruichi-sama.”

“That’s a bit better, but please, just Yoruichi!”

Maya nodded again. “I will be back as soon as I can,” she said, fading from the spot.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

“This is my release, this will be all I need to beat you, and you will die here at the feet of Rei and I!” Ken’ichi shouted, raising his zanpakutou.

Yin Taku looked at the former shinigami, at the transformation taken place. His hands now had the appearance of talons. His sword now spiked at the top, looking like the fangs of a dragon. ‘He has changed so much in just a moment. His killing intent has increased, but the scariest change… his eyes… bright… bright red, they look like endless. Endless space!’

Ken’ichi looked into the arrancar’s eyes. “I hope you’re ready!”

chapter 2:- To make the final Cut

“Feast upon his final breath… and take your seat on the throne of creation… Neo… Rei… Ryu!”

Reiatsu built up suddenly around Ken’ichi and swirled like a hurricane. Flashes of the blue energy cracked and exploded in front of his face. His eyes remain closed as he transformed. His hands grew, becoming talon like; he felt his zanpakutou extend and curve, the point splitting into two blades. He rested the weapon upon his shoulder, blades spiking out like the fangs of a giant beast.

“This is my release. This will be all I need to beat you, and you will die here at the feet of Rei and I!” Ken’ichi shouted as he raised his zanpakutou. He opened his eyes to reveal empty voids, blazing a fiery red.

In an instant he faded from the spot, appearing a moment later behind the arrancar, Yin Taku.

“I hope you’re ready,” Ken’ichi whispered, a sly smile appearing across his lips.

The former shinigami raised his blade, before fading again. Seconds later he brought his weapon slicing towards Yin Taku’s. The sound of the blades meeting sent a shockwave through Karakura town.

“This form of yours may have made you stronger, but you’re still nothing more than an insect beneath my feet,” the arrancar said, holding Ken’ichi off as he gripped his sword with one hand. ‘He’s strong, I barely stopped his attack,’ he thought to himself.

Both warriors continued tricking each other as they fought, blades glinting as they danced in the sky. Neither of them was gaining the upper hand.

(meanwhile)

‘I hope I’m not to late,’ Maya thought as she raced towards the battleground. ‘He’ll likely get himself killed if he’s not careful.’

The blonde continued leaping from building to building searching for signs of her former teacher. She glanced down at her zanpakutou sitting at her waist and then turned towards the horizon in time to see a shockwave flying towards her. “*!” she yelled, bending her knees she threw herself out of its way. ‘I guess I’ve found them then,’ she thought, launching off in the direction the wave had come from.

(meanwhile)

Ken’ichi raised his sword above his head again, preparing to slash downwards, his breathe coming in small pants. ‘This guy is good, I’ve never had so much fun before, but I must end it. I may need Bankai.’ Ken’ichi looked up to see a cero soaring through the air towards him. “Damn!” he shouted, raising his arm in front of his face in an attempt to block the attack.

The impact sent the ex-Captain flying downwards towards the city below, a huge crater appearing in the ground where he landed.

Yin Taku faded from where he was standing. When he reappeared a moment later he spun out, landing a kick into the gut of the prostrate Ken’ichi. Explosions could be heard as he was thrown into a group of trees.

He slowly raised himself to his knees, gasping for breath as he looked towards the man rushing at him. His legs wobbled as he pushed himself to his feet. As he looked at the blurred world around him, trying to regain focus he saw the female Arrancar standing nearby, watching him. ‘I’m almost out here… I can’t take another hit li–‘ His thoughts were cut off by a sharp pain in his stomach. Looking down he saw a sword impaled through his gut, blood seeping out the wound. ‘It… it… can’t be.’

A smile formed on Yin Taku’s face as he held the hilt of his sword. Stepping backwards he drew his zanpakutou out of the shinigami’s chest and placed his hand against Ken’ichi’s back. “Don’t worry, this will be from point blank range… you will not survive,” he said, raising his hand and building up another cero attack.

Just as he was about to fire off the cero a bolt hit his hand sending the blast into the air, completely missing Ken’ichi. Yin Taku looked around to see the source of the bolt. Seeing the young blonde shinigami he smirked. “That came from little you?”

Maya gripped her wrist, breathing heavily as smoke rose from her palm. ‘That’s about all I could do, but now I’ll have to step in to fight for him.’ She reached for the hilt of her zanpakutou, stopping at the sound of a familiar voice.

“I’m… I’m not done yet Maya, leave this to me.” Ken’ichi smiled grimly as he stood up. He held his arms out to reveal a shimmer of blue and yellow reiatsu forming cuffs round his wrists. “I guess I should release these.”

“What, what are they?” Yin Taku looked puzzled by the appearance of the reiatsu cuffs around Ken’ichi’s wrists.

“Kidou. Bakudou number fifteen, created by the ex-twelfth division captain… before he left that is,” Ken’ichi said, smiling as he spoke. “The cuffs are a binding, holding back my reiatsu, only allowing me to access the smallest amount. Now I’ve removed the binding, my reiatsu will increase by around five fold. I hope you’re ready,” he said again as the cuffs around his wrist faded and an eruption of reiatsu engulfed Ken’ichi, building up almost instantaneously.

Yin Taku suddenly felt the intense spiritual pressure pushing at him, causing his knees to buckle under him. He fell onto the ground. ‘This can’t be, how has he got so much power left?’ He struggled, trying to thrust against the pressure.

He felt a sword stab through his shoulder blade but when he looked down there was nothing there. ‘Was that his intent I just felt? He’s really prepared to kill me,’ he thought. All of a sudden blood exploded from his chest, but when he stared at Ken’ichi he saw the man hadn’t moved at all.

“The way I am now, I’m roughly at around thirty percent power. I believe you’re feeling it: my intent. I will kill you, and I won’t feel guilty about it.” Blue energy exploded around Ken’ichi again, his piercing red eyes glaring at the arrancar. Fading from the spot he appeared spinning in front of Yin Taku, slamming a roundhouse kick into the arrancar’s gut, lifting him from the ground. Spinning again, Ken’ichi slammed into his opponent’s face, sending the big man flying through the air, skidding to a halt next to a tree.

‘I can’t even begin to keep up with his movements. What is he? Some kind of monster?’ Yin Taku thought, his breath coming in short pants. He opened his eyes to see Ken’ichi appear in front of him, his feet slamming into Yin’s gut. The ex-shinigami held out his zanpakutou in front of the arrancar’s eyes.

“You have lost,” Ken’ichi said, raising his zanpakutou above his head and thrusting it towards the arrancar’s face. Just before it could reach its target, an explosion of dust built up around the two causing Ken’ichi to stop his movement in confusion.

“Destroy using a bullet with their name… Danmaku.” The shockwave released sent Ken’ichi soaring backwards where he came to a halt on the grass. He watched as Yin Taku made his transformation. At first, all he could see was the dust and smoke; suddenly a tail whipped and cut through the cloud. Ken’ichi’s eyes widened as the dust began to clear.

Where Yin Taku had been moments before now stood a beast, holding itself up with one hand and foot, tail thrashing around. No human flesh could be seen; only his mask remained, now fully covering his features with what looked like a goat’s skull.

Ken’ichi’s attention was drawn to the arrancar’s arm. The arm was normal up to his elbow, from there on his entire forearm had changed into a cannon. Yin Taku smiled, hidden behind his mask. “This is my zanpakutou’s release. You should feel lucky, you’re the first person to see this in battle.” He stood on both feet, gripping the cannon with his remaining hand; a red glow building up within the cannon.

‘A cero. But how can it be releasing so much power? That’s just crazy! I don’t think I can move in time,’ Ken’ichi thought as he watched the blast rocketing towards him. When the cero hit he felt like his flesh was being pulled from his bones as he plummeted through the air.

Struggling, he managed to slow his movement, one hand thrust forward like a gun, the other resting across his wrist. Gasping for air he saw Yin Taku appear across from him. “Well done, using one of your own attacks to lower the impact. Clever,” he said.

(moments ago)

“hado no sanjyu san: sokatsui!” Ken’ichi yelled out, sending a blast of blue energy from his from his finger. The blast made impact with the cero seconds before the arrancar’s attack tore into Ken’ichi.

‘That was close, if that had hit me, I would have been in a troublesome situation,’ he thought, looking at Yin Taku. His breath was still heavy as he tried to prepare himself for the next attack. As he released a breath, the air was knocked out of him violently as a fist hit his gut. He doubled over in pain, closing his eyes. As he opened them he saw he was staring straight into Yin Taku’s cannon. ‘This is not good!’ he thought. As he tried to move away he felt a hand gripping his shirt, holding him back. He felt heat on his face as another cero attack built up. Eyes fluttering shut, he built up his own reiatsu to protect himself.

Yin Taku laughed to himself as he continued to fire cero after cero into Ken’ichi’s face. He spun his arm out and threw the former shinigami to the ground, causing a huge explosion of dirt and dust as he landed. Yin slowly floated towards the crater, landing just at the edge of the steep drop. Laughter still came from his mouth as he stared down at the fallen shinigami. “This was way too easy. I mean, I actually thought you might be a worthy opponent to test my full power against. But just like everyone else, you didn’t stand a chance the moment I increased my power,” he said mockingly.

Ken’ichi slowly raised himself up. As he stood up a smile spread across his face.

“You seem happy for some who’s going to die!” Yin said as he folded his arms across his chest.

“I was just thinking,” Ken’ichi said, smiling. “If this is all you’re capable of, then we really didn’t need to come. I mean, you’re strong, but you’re barely a challenge. I’m actually bored. As troublesome as it is, I may be required to use Bankai just to show you how weak you actually are.” His smile grew as he drew his zanpakutou. “But just to warn you, my Bankai is legendary. Rei here is the strongest Dragon Zanpakutou.”

“*, *, *, that’s all I’ve heard from you since the start. You talk the big fight, but every level of power you’ve shown, I have surpassed easily!” Yin Taku raised the cannon again, aiming directly at Ken’ichi, a red glow beginning to build up, larger and larger until it almost engulfed the arrancar.

“How many times do I need to repeat myself? I am not a shinigami anymore,” Ken’ichi said, smirking.

Yin Taku fired the cannon, the cero attack rocketing towards the former shinigami. The energy enveloped Ken’ichi’s body before dissipating into a dazzling green aura.

Through the energy, Ken’ichi’s smile could still be seen. “Ban-kai!”

Death of Sin

“*, *, *, that’s all I’ve heard from you since the start. You talk the big fight, but I’ve easily surpassed every level of power you’ve shown!” Yin Taku said as he raised the cannon again. Aiming directly at Ken’ichi a red glow began to build up, getting larger until it almost engulfed the Arrancar.

“Ban-kai!”

As the energy began to fade from around his body, huge green reptilian wings and a tail rose up around him, before whipping out in the air. Gripping his Zanpakutou in his hand he parted his lips to speak, “I don’t care for the wars of the Shinigami, I have long since lost my interest in their meager disputes.”

Yin Taku sighed. “I grow tired of this discussion. As entertaining as you seem to find it, you do nothing but bore me. A man who was once a Shinigami, will forever be a Shinigami in my eyes, and all a Shinigami is good for to me, is dying.” Staring down at Ken’ichi. “I hope you enjoyed this life of-”

“Silence! I’ll kill you!” Ken’ichi yelled, fading from sight completely. Moments later he came to a halt behind Yin, unseen. In a blur of light and sound, Ken’ichi’s Zanpakutou thrust through the gut of Yin before being drawn out again and swept round, slashing off the Arrancar’s arm. He pulled the weapon backwards, preparing for his final attack…

- -Years before- -

Two men stood, their white robes fluttering in the wind. The sixth and fifth Captain symbols were clear for all to see. Floating around the pair were what appeared to be pink leaves. Byakuya’s voice could be heard as he stood in front of Ken’ichi. “Idiot, the damage you have caused…. All because you cannot control that Zanpakutou of yours!”

Bowing his head, Ken’ichi began to speak, “It was a mistake… I didn’t realize…”

“Didn’t realize…” Byakuya’s voice was becoming more raised as he started losing control.. “Didn’t realize? You wiped out almost half of the eighty-second district, you have no control over that beast. You are a danger to all of Soul Society, I should kill you where you stand.”

“Gomme. But, Bya…” Ken’ichi stammered, trying to explain himself.

“But nothing, if it was Yamamoto-Taichou who had found you, you would have been sentenced to death for that ‘little’ incident. You are unlucky in the fact that it was I who found you… saw the destruction you caused. I came here instead of Yamamoto-Taichou because I believe, unlike him, that you do not deserve the right to even step foot within the walls of the Shrine of Penitence. I, Kuchiki Byakuya, shall kill you now, and save you the embarrassment,” Byakuya spoke, as the pink leaves swirled around the pair.

Ken’ichi began to raise his head and tilted it as he took into view everything within the field. The pink leaves dancing in the wind, the gorgeous colors brought to life by the setting sun. The way the river rippled as the wind danced upon it. Looking over at Byakuya he gazed into the eyes of the sixth squad captain. Suddenly Ken’ichi’s eyes begin to change, taking on a dragonic appearance, a red fiery glow burning within his glare. “You speak, Kuchiki Byakuya, like I shall allow you to destroy me. I am not so easily defeated, a lesson I shall now teach you.” He spoke quietly, a dark edge to his voice, as he drew his Zanpakutou. “I am sorry for the death which I caused, but I shall not allow my life to be taken. How else will I atone for my sins?”

“I do not see that you have much of a choice. I will show you something that not many have seen. Ban-Kai,” Byakuya said, forcing his sword into the ground. Behind up many blades sprung up, an endless sight. “Scatter.”

Ken’ichi’s eyes opened wider as he saw the Bankai he had heard of it, but never seen. The blades shattered into millions of pink petals, rushing towards the bewildered Shinigami in a magnificent and terrifying waltz of pink. Ken’ichi was engulfed in a sea of pink with his only thoughts towards the pain as blood began to spurt and ooze from every cut. “Why?” His vision blurred before fading into darkness.

- -Flash- -

A clang could be heard as his sword hit the floor. He stumbled backwards from the Arrancar, fingers trembling as he remembered the last time he used his Bankai. ‘So many dead and by my hands?’ he thought, lip quivering out of sheer fear as he remembered the destruction he had wrought. It had been years since the power had been unleashed, since death had been brought upon his enemies from the incredible force.

A smile spread across Yin Taku’s face, hidden behind his bone white mask. The joy in his eyes was unmistakable. Using the cannon on his arm he slowly raised himself to his feet. “What’s the matter Shinigami? Do you fear death? Or is it simply that you are to weak to take the life of an enemy?” Haunting laughter could be heard from behind the mask as he spoke. Be walked slowly towards Ken’ichi, who was cradling his face in his hands, still shaking. “Do you wish me to end it Shinigami?” Yin said, blood still dropping from the ragged wound where his arm had once been.

“I will make sure your death is quick, so please do not worry about how you pass. Rest assured that once you die your suffering will end,” He spoke as he raised the cannon.

Ken’ichi continued to back away, blindly as the images of devastation flashed before his eyes. ‘Why now? Why must I remember now? Such a horrible act, I murdered, murdered them all. Why did…did he spare me? Did he even save me?’ He thought, ignoring the Arrancar walking towards him.

He doubled over in agony as a cero blasted into his gut. He clutched at his stomach and coughed blood onto the ground before him. Struggling, he raised himself upright despite the pain.

“I can see you shaking. You’re afraid. Finally you realize the level of the task ahead of you. Now, I shall put an end to your pain, to your suffering.” Yin Taku raised the canon once more, aiming towards Ken’ichi’s face. “Say goodbye to everything you hold dear. For after this, you shall be no longer.” As he prepared to fire his final attach, a crack could be heard. The Arrancar’s mask began to split and shattered, showing his confused expression. ‘What? Where did that come from?” He thought, realizing that Ken’ichi had faded again.

He appeared at Yin’s side, the hilt of his Zanpakutou slamming into his face, smashing the remains of the mask. “I am sure I said, silence!” He spun the blade around in the air and ripped off Yin’s head. His body fell to the ground blood spurting from the wound.

“Very good Shinigami, you certainly are strong as Aizen-sama has said. Rest assured, I am much stronger than Yin was.” A female voice spoke from behind him, grabbing Ken’ichi’s attention. “But I am not here to kill you. Aizen-sama wishes your assistance, he sees your skills as advantageous to his final goal.”

“I will not join, I wish to atone for sins of my own making. Joining a traitor kind of goes against my wishes.” Ken’ichi spoke softly, calmly.

“You only have two choices here Shinigami, either join with us, or you can die where you stand…by the hands of Sugimura Kurai” She said softly, with a level of anger in her voice that sent a chill through Ken’ichi.

“I have no wish to fight with you, so go home and grow old, only death awaits you should you choose to fight me,” said Ken’ichi, his wings flapped once, before wrapping around his body.

“Death! Death!” She roared, “Death is the ocean I swim in… the air that I breathe. I live to take the breath away from people like you, Shinigami scum. Its Aizen-sama’s wish to have you join us, not mine.” Fading as she finished her speech, she appeared behind Ken’ichi and slashed down at his neck. At the last second another blade appeared, bluntly stopping the movement.

“Ken’ichi is too polite. He will not battle with a woman, but I shall.” Maya spoke, holding the Arrancar’s blade back with little effort. “I have no fear to cut you down.”

“Back off little girl, or I’ll cut you into pieces. Either way the result will be the same, he will join us or die. Unless you wish to join him in death, I would run off, away back to Soul Society.” The female arrancar said, her anger rising.

“Sorry *, not on the cards. Never leave a comrade on their own.” Maya said. “Born from your fiery heart… Kaji-da!” A wealth of flames roared round her Zanpakutou.
