Is there some kind of trick here, or is this just a joke puzzle because the last one was so hard? |

Well it doesn't say whether you are X's or O's. Perhaps if people choose something different they are led on a different quest |

I assumed this was a test to see who would overthink it. It really is quite simple. So simple that it's trying to trick you into thinking there's a secret answer hidden somewhere. There's a quote from a novel I read that I can't remember, but it goes something like "If you want hide something from somebody that they expect to be hidden, put it right in front of them." I forget the context, but it was something really clever, and I believe this is similar. Anyway, I don't feel like downloading the image, MS Painting it, finding somewhere to upload it, and then finding the best to send it, so I'll just say that my answer is that since O obviously went first, an O should be in the top left. I thought the rule was usually X's go first. I answered X. edit: I got a reply for my answer of X. It was http://pastebin.com/stTcmuhr, which is called "Play by the rules" It's a pastebin that says: B2 Pawn to B3 King's side Knight to C6 King's side Bishop to B2 A7 Pawn to A6 G2 Pawn to G4 H7 Pawn to H5 Queen's side Bishop to G2 A6 Pawn to A5 B3 Pawn to B4 G8 Knight to H6 F2 Pawn to F3 B7 Pawn to B5 B1 Knight to A3 C8 Bishop to B7 E1 Queen to F2 C6 Knight to E5 I haven't looked at it yet, but this seems to be a deeper puzzle than we though. I'll try putting that on an actual chess board. edit; that didnt seem to form much of a pattern. I'll try again and search for some answers. Edited by Mathyland, Jul 25 2016, 02:17 AM.

Ah, multiple steps... well I'd need a Ron to my Hermione for this one, I don't know anything about chess other than those sound like chess piece names. |

I sort of know how chess works. The moves it says to do all follow the rules. The weird thing is that it is backwards. It has the king on the left, and the queen on the right. That would mean either there was a mistake, or black is going first, which breaks the rule of white always goes first. I don't see how this means anything though. It breaks the rule of white always goes first. Edit: I think this was a mistake based on the church of satan's response to my telegram I sent him explaining this. Small mix up! I should stop staying up late to make these. >_> I accidentally confused the king & queen (I know, pretty stupid of me). It should actually be unaffected though. Here's the correct moves: http://pastebin.com/yU41x7RQ |

I've double-checked and I'm certain it is unaffected. Apologies for the confusion. |

That's okay, we make mistakes. I still have gotten nowhere with this. If this is something like the opening of a famous chess game, I don't know what game, and I can't find it. The church telegramed me saying "Maybe you don't have all the pieces necessary to solve this yet. ^_^". I don't know what this means. Has anyone found anything of use? |
