Actually not that bad, I am glad I picked it up. The story is a bit more involved than usual, and you're given the option of multiple dialogue choices at certain places, but never anything too extreme. Generally different ways of answering a question that end with the same general response. The tutorials can be annoying to deal with, as usual, but once you get into the meat and potatoes of the game it really takes off on its own. Typical Zelda formula of "Get the three Xs, go to the temple, get some more stuff and beat the game." Sidequests have a more tangible feel to them, having most if not all of the sidequest lines focusing around collecting Gratitude Crystals to help turn a monster into a human.

Chronologically, it takes place way before any of the other Zelda games, and it sets the scene for why the struggle of the triforce exists; Why there is always a Link between Zelda and Ganon.

It's pretty rad.

Do it yo.

You NEED Wii MotionPlus, either the controller or the attachment, to play it.

Which is kind of great, because it means assholes walking in front of your TV and sensor bar won't fuck up your Wiimote connection. You can literally play with a cardboard box between you and the screen, Wii MotionPlus don't give a fuck.

It's a good game, but not a good Zelda game.

I liked it very much, but it felt so small and limited. There should be the sense that you're going on a great adventure! But the thing is, the overworld is a lot smaller than it seems at first, not to mention that the bird doesn't feel as quick as Epona! I really liked the sidequests and characters a lot, especially Peatrice, she is easily the best character, but I just didn't care so much. The combat was innovative and made sense for the game, but it felt too slow for me. I guess what I like the least is just how much I have to use the Wiimote. Really, I like the game a lot, but I liked Wind Waker and TP so much more!

Also, Fi was annoying as fuck.

I understand what you're saying. The world was pretty small, less exploration and whatnot, but I enjoyed it. Worst parts were Fi explaining everything and the fetch quests EVERYWHERE. I finished it though, and I'd say I was satisfied. I can't get past the start of TP cuz it's boring.

It felt like there was a lot more emphasis on making the Wii gimmick work as something more than just a gimmick, so the scope of the world came up lacking

The cutscenes are beautiful though, when it actually shifts to cutscene mode

Like WindWaker, I felt like this incarnation of Link had his own, legitimate personality

I loved WW Link's facial expressions throughout the game

And let's face it, the Zelda formula has always been fetch fetch fetch fetch fetch fetch f-- OHHH BOYY YOU GOT ALL THE WIZZY DIZZIES FOR YOUR BLASTER RAY, THE FINAL BOSS CAN NOW BE DEFEATED

It had some, but it felt more blatant in this game. Here find 5 kikwis to get to the dungeon or five pieces of a key or whatever. And the tadtones...That said, I think the combat was a step in the right direction in some ways. I loved dropping beehives on Moblins and being able to drop a bomb, then pick it up with the beetle was pretty cool. That final dungeon and the Ghirahim fights were also cool.

The final boss was awesome. The whole boss rush thing against the Bokoblins, Ghirahim, and finally Demise was really hype. I thought I was seriously going to end up dying during the final fight... Until I discovered I could shoot lightning at him. Then all the hype went out the window and wham bam YOU'RE A HERO KYLE

Still was p cool though.

Also, fuck the Tadtones. That was fucking dumb. Water Dragon is a bitch and I hope she drowns in her own viscous insufferablity.
