Anyone following Fallout 4 rumors likely already knows about the countdown website. December 11th, 2013, thought to be the announcement date for the game, read about it at the prestigious rpg codex: http://www.rpgcodex.net/forums/index.php?threads/bethesda-about-to-announce-fallout-4.87958/ In any case, not really looking to comment on it's legitimacy. But for those who are Fallout fans, what are your expectations of the game? As well as a wishlist? (Chris Avellone, writer for Obsidian did one here: ) . Personally, not big on the Boston setting, Fallout 3's mention of it was weak, and mostly related to an easter egg quest. Improvements in art are obviously expected, kind of hoping they go for a western aesthetic again, of course not likely if they keep the shitty setting. I think Fallout could benefit from dropping VATS completely, it was implemented pretty crappily, replacing t with bullet time would be a good trade off. Keep Skyrim's shit leveling system out of the game, and focus on making the SPECIAL skills have more impact, basically the gist of what I'd like to see in the game. |

I don't think that's necessary, America is a big place, and there are plenty of untouched states, (And provinces, what with the annexation), China might be nice as a DLC to visit a small portion. But for a western audience, there would just be too little to relate to, besides that, you'd likely got the dub treatment, where everyone spoke English for whatever reason. Not saying that it isn't an interesting idea, could be cool to see if they went back into history, similar to the tribes in Fallout 2, dynasties and shit.(Inertia was always a theme in Fallout, especially Vegas.) Don't see it happening though. Agree with Boston accents, and also find the east coast the least interesting setting. West coast could be interesting, there's plenty of references to Utah, Colorado, Arizona, etc in New Vegas, lots going on there, might be interesting to explore legion territory since it was largely untouched in Vegas. As well, a southern setting could be interesting, Louisiana maybe, get that point lookout feel. If Skyrim didn't exist I'd also be interested in a Canadian or Alaskan setting, but it does, and I really don't want Skyrim with guns. |

well there was operation: anchorage the thing is tho that there won't really be much diversity seeing as how a large percentage of plant life is long dead bc of radiation, so a wilderness setting would just be pointless. that's why the mojave desert in new vegas worked well since there's hardly any vegetation there to begin with. why i think just a completely different cultural perspective would make things more interesting, rather than just throwing them in another area of the united states. boston would just be another stupid place with american revolution references thrown in your face all the time, like fallout 3 did with the capital wasteland. and really, point lookout was enough of a southern setting for me. i can't really see them doing anything else with the south. kinda already ran that well dry. |

Mass Effect 4: Boston edition. Sounds bad, also sounds like voiced pc dialogue is gonna be in it. But oh well, Bethesda can not into dialogue anyways so it's no biggie. As long as they succeed at something. Like combat, Fallout 3's combat was terrible, hope it's good in this one, SPECIAL system could use some work as well. I also hope they contract Obsidian again after this(If it's even true) to make another NV quality game but with the AAA assets it's no doubt going to have. Also minutemen, you were right, I mean, I knew you were, but still. I also hope to see some heavy handed tea party references. (smirk) This is just gonna be fallout: capital wasteland 2, with a little more water and maybe a few shorter buildings. |

Unless they go backwards in character creation it's going to be awkward given the age sliders, race choices, and face editor, better to have left it up to the player's imagination. |
