Looks like that leaked crap was probably true, shit Boston setting, shitty voiced pc. Also final fantasy airships and wolfenstein zeppelins. Will probably play anyway, unless the RPG elements have been taken away, pc better not be preset, and SPECIAL better still play a big role. Graphics looked better on my modded pc versions of NV/fo3 as well. |

Some think the graphics are pretty shit for 2015, that if you mod the older games they look better than the visuals they've shown in the trailer. |

i noticed that too; the graphics in the trailer are kinda lacking for 2015 i know a lot of people are excited about it but i just dont care much for it aside from your gameplay. the only audience that trailer appeals to in the slightest is the existing fans of the series (for varying reasons, but still). theres a dog running around...do you play as a dog? are there different breeds to choose from in customization? i dont understand the idea behind the trailer at all. |

It's nostalgia shit, and what's worse is that it isn't nostalgia for the original games, it's nostalgia for the fucking 2008 game, lol. Besides the dumbass final fantasy airships pretty much everything in the trailer is a callback to Fallout 3. |

so i was right in thinking they are only targeting existing fans. i dont like the idea of forgetting where you came from. a tribute to the beginning is always a favorite, you dont do a nod to something that just happened. im not even a fan of the series and it bothers the hell out of me. |

I ain't even mad that they didn't reference the first game(s), they didn't really have shit all to do with it after all. If anything they're too derivative, Fallout 3 was so heavy with references to the first two games it's hardly it's own game at all. A cheap imitation really, which is made worse by the fact that the themes they aped were ALREADY derivative. Like that fucking dog, a tribute to mad max and a boy and his dog in the original game, and not a major tribute either, is now a main theme of the game. The contrasting example would be FNV, which did nothing but further the story and world of the first two games, fleshing them out more, while having a completely unique theme by comparison. |

It's eh'liright, somewhere in between it's user and critic reviews on metacritic, like a 7 or so. It's got some interesting mechanics and more open ended story with faction quests and shit, but overall suffers from some repetitive MMO content/design, with a lot of Borderlands like loot that's randomly generated 90 bazillion gun crap, and generic dynamically spawned quests of: Kill x bandits and then report back to questgiver Posted Image These are also endless. Looks better than previous game and feels more fluid in combat, more impact in almost everything. It's kind of a weird abomination of Minecraft/Borderlands/Mass Effect/ and Far cry. |

Game's a lot better with mods, Robot home defense and armorsmith extended are cool ones, there's also some delevelers to keep the game from having that MMO feel. Seems like Bethesda also liked Robot Home Defense, as their first batch of DLC pretty much contains a polished ripoff of the mod. |

Boring settlement stuff is way addicting, though less boring with the right mods. It's worth playing through the main story, especially as the genocidal Brotherhood of Steel, they're basically the empire from Warhammer, you just mass kill heretics and mutants and then blow the shit out of the entire commonwealth with nukes, fun stuff. |
