(OOC Disclaimer: While I did enjoy the show, and I'm not taking anything away from the writers of it, if looked at compared to a real wrestling show, there would be a lot of big problems. Remember this is aimed to be a realistic dirtsheet, so when you read this and see that it looks like I'm dissing the show over and over, think to yourself if the same problem would occur on Raw or Smackdown)

Hello, all, and welcome to another episode of IBW Dirtsheets! This week, we're going to look at IBW's most recent weekly episode of Collision, and provide analysis/our thoughts to it as well! So without further ado, here we go!

Overall

  • As always, Collision is one of the top-viewed shows on Friday. This should come to nobody's surprise, as once Smackdown went to Tuesday nights, most wrestling fans turned to IBW's Friday Night Program. Oddly enough, with returning general manager Harry Croft, viewings went down slightly. This trend is a bit shocking because ratings typically spike positively when a new GM is announced for a show or two. While this is no fault of Croft, this is a good sign that IBW cannot afford to keep losing their general managers, and they've beaten the horse of new GMs past its limits.

  • A pretty fast-paced night in terms of matches. We only assume this is because after every GM replacement, match style tends to switch up a bit, with different bookers (and yes, In-Character bookers typically have a say, surprisingly) having different styles. We assume this will change in upcoming weeks, until Croft and company feel that they've hit the right mark.

  • IBW did NOT sell all the tickets in the arena on full-price tickets, which has been a house-show trend. IBW Finance crew has released the idea of possibly lowering the prices by ~10 dollars. This is making the casual fan happy, but is being held back by IBW Stockholders, as stock prices may go down with that decision as profit decreases.

  • A lot of critics are giving poor ratings for this show either being 'too outright, or too vague' with hyping up the next Pay Per View. Make of that as you will.

The Matches

  • Many say the opening match was a bit sloppy, but it's understandably so. Booking staff was trying to do a bit too much with an opening fatal four-way, especially with three young talents, and Pandora, who is known to take her gimmick 'too far' to be real for the audience. It's a common practice for a first-match to be a multiple man match, but that's typically so that the competing newbie has a small role in the match. Bit shocking at the end to see him take the W. Personally, the post-match sequence was a bit rushed, but it did do its job, I suppose. Hope this gets a bit more elaborated. Despite loving it, this company has a tendency to either pull off great feuds, or "I DON'T LIKE YOU SO I ATTACKED YOU", which might just be happening for Hawke and Sawyer.

  • I'd rather not dwell too much into the Mat Emerald's segments. He's a good, rising talent. I'm hoping IBW proves me wrong by having this go somewhere good, but look above. IBW feuds are hit or miss, and this kinda stuff ALWAYS ends up in a miss.

  • Two multiple man matches in a row is a bit of a bad move. Fans are already excited from opening match, now you're setting them up to be bored. I get you want to push over a lot of talent, but sometimes you just have to be patient. I guess Hawke interference was a small pop moment, but it was assumed to have happened. And, why are they still trying to put over guys with names like Hamish and Dray Kickz? Can we please get a rebranding? And, a good one, not one backwards like Hamish. #SorryNotSorry. IBW's undercard needs serious work.

  • We knew the winners from the beginning, but did NOT see the ending coming. IBW's tag division is one of the only few things it has going for it (and that's saying something, considering the recent improvements of WWE's tag division), and big shocking moment as Snickers out of nowhere turns on her team. Bit sad to see it, as Snickers and the Laces are a SOLID trio, and could have ran a million angles which we will never see. Will say that IBW kinda made it confusing for fans when, for no real explained reason, the Task Force came out to save Snickers. Was a bit of a sloppy way to say she's with them.

  • WHY ARE WE PUSHING PUNISHER STILL?!?!?! WHY?! No, seriously. The whole Vincent/Punisher angle has been going on for like, ever. And it wasn't big with any fans when it first started. The only reason it keeps happening is probably because Punisher's contract has creative control, but they should have a clause where they can revoke creative control if you sell less than Hayden The Handyman did. Don't get me wrong! The dude is a solid wrestler. Despite being a bit problematic at times, he's never hurt anyone (though has suffered from a few minor injuries, but pulled through with them!), and he plays being the big guy pretty well. But he's always had issues with his gimmicks. The guy has a hard time getting something going, then has a hard time playing it well, then tries playing two bad gimmicks at the same time, and it's just.... Can we stick a manager on him, management? Or do something?! #DontPushBadGimmicks

  • Rushed match next week. We really don't get to savor Hawke vs. Sawyer. A good wrestling company has solid product on weekly shows, and great product at Pay Per Views. I once heard a good comparison of "you can have pizza on Fridays, and Steak once a month" with wrestling feuds. But with Hawke vs. Sawyer, they're going "alright, since we're out of pizza, you're going to get steak on Friday." Sure, fans are happy now, but come the PPV, they might be a bit disappointed. And if we play the game of 'how far can we top this', we'll have a bigger ****-up than Morris' Horror Movie themed "Morris Mania" or whatever that match type was called.

  • A great triple threat match. Felt this one should have had a clean finish. It already lost hype due to it being the third multiple man match of the night, but I rolled my eyes when Darnell interfered. Has there been any clean finishes tonight? IBW is trying to put toooo many people over. Not everyone can win every week.

  • There's some good and bad in the Evergreen promo. Felt the entire Snickers thing was pushed a bit too quickly, so him going "everyone's been talking about it" was kinda off, seeing as how it happened like, an hour prior. But, it is what it is. I mean, I guess this promo falls under the category of "good enough to not fall in the forgettable or terribly unforgettable promo list", but not "solid promos that will always be remembered". It did its job. Still unsure as a whole how I feel about Task Force still, and I think IBW was taking a HUGE risk when it put all its eggs in one basket. This stable holds two championships, and could very well soon hold all the gold. Remember what happened last time IBW pushed a stable? Yeah, it turned to mush, and made every title, and every member in it, a joke. And as much as TF says "we aren't Prophecy", like that's their gimmick, they pretty much are headed in that direction. Less stables need to go for "complete domination" like TF and Prophecy and The Flock, and go for more "dominant, but not overly so". Every example of that in IBW, and in most wrestling, has been amazing. Man-Eaters, Anonymous, G2 if you count that as a trio, etc. And if you need an outside of IBW example to prove, The Shield, The Wyatts.

  • Another problem, which 90% of IBW faces, is they don't want to be proven wrong. Heels saying "it may not happen now, but in the future, blank will happen". It just feels like they're making excuses if they lose so their characters are still credible. People need to play more wrestler in the ring than hero and villain. Nobody on any other channel is going "well, yeah, we are going to run this company. Maybe not now, though!'. That gives the fans 10000% reason to go "alright, time to not care about these guys anymore".

  • Surprisingly hype Parker face. One of the few things IBW has done right recently was give this guy a proper face turn, rather than just half-assing it. Probably the biggest heel to turn face so quickly aside from Krmi, who only got that way because of a month-or-two long storyline.

  • Oh, cool. Another No DQ match. Wonder if this one will end cle-... Do I even need to comment on it?

  • I get it, you're pushing Krmi and Parker vs. Task Force, which is a risky (but smart) move. But can you give guys clean wins? Like, sure, Parker and Krmi both got over. But imagine how over Parker would have gotten if, instead of Krmi interfering, Parker gets the shocking win after pulling something out of his ass. You want Krmi involved? Have Parker get beat-down by the entire crew of dudes and have Krmi save him them.

  • I already knew the Main Event, while it was a good match, would not have a clean finish. That officially means all matches but the first (which had a post-match beatdown out of nowhere) had interference of some kind. This is the kinda stuff that makes fans not want to watch products. The good quality matches were a thing, but no fan wants every match to end the way it did. Fans get nitpicky when two matches share the same spots, let alone a redundant show.

  • I guess hype for Pay Per View exists. But, it's a bit forced on us.

Looking Ahead

  • Expect a Ratings Drop next show. Hard

  • Expect IBW to play their cards much more cautiously from here on out.

  • A shocking 7% of tickets sold have been refunded for next week's Collision. The number seems small, but that's shocking how fast people responded to a show. But, who can blame them? No wrestling fan wants every match to end with an outside competitor ruining things.

  • Hawke vs. Sawyer is projected show-stealer, but stipulation could ruin things. Especially with two undercard guys trying to push more than they are worth.

  • Task Force needs something BIG to happen soon in their storyline, so I'm guessing some major plot event occurs at Last Man Standing in two months. The question is, can IBW make it an interesting enough two months to keep fans engaged in the feud, or will this turn into Authority vs. Roman Reigns, where everyone was super hype and involved, but by the end it turned into a boring month or so of Reigns winning when nobody wanted him to, just to finish up what they started.

  • IBW doesn't can feuds unless there's an injury on the table. Which could be good or bad for some of the things which seem to be occurring.

  • I have a feeling if this stretches all the way out to H.O.W. without Task Force breaking up, some fans are going to be pissed. Just an assumption.

  • If Krmi loses the International Title, a lot of fans are pledging to stop watching. While this is MOSTLY just cult hype, it should be noted that the only recent time this happened as seriously as it did was back when the whole "If Punk doesn't win, we riot" fad started when Punk dropped his shoot and fought Cena. Krmi is tied with Parker for the most over guy in IBW right now, and he may even be over more-so. This could cause issues if IBW tries pushing Task Force by making him lose. Fans are already disappointed at what happened to TGB.

"It's Complicated."

"I wouldn't say that."

"I absolutely would."
