John Morris
In-SPEAR-ational
Welcome to another episode of IBW Dirtsheets!

What We Know:

  • Viewer numbers were down for Collision from last week, though critics have gladly stated it was a higher quality show. Something else to look at fr last week was that it WAS a post-Pay Per View Collision, which because of the hectic travel schedule for IBW Superstars, typically is, while not a bad show, a worse show than normal.

  • Matches were good overall, a much different showing than last week. We'll touch up on this more later.

  • The hype coming into this show and coming out of it were amazing numbers for IBW in a nice four-day span, IBW talent has released Eight promotional videos or other segments! These are big numbers, and it's typically a good sign whenever talent is happy and/or enthusiastic about putting in the work for the company.

  • John Morris has iPPV sales already! 12,000 iPPV sales have already occurred, despite there being no star names listed or any actual promotional content so far. This means that John Morris, and IBW as a whole, is a selling name. We estimate this number to only go up, and Morris has gone on record recently to say that his ideal amount sold would be "about the same, or even more, than IBW Pay Per View TV Sales".

  • If IBW keeps up with shows of this quality, they're expected to reach their 'maximum average' viewers. This is simply the highest numbers of watchers they have during non-special moments. Some companies boast about high average viewer amounts, because that means they have a consistently good show (or dedicated fans). The current company maximum average was when John Morris was IBW Champion. This was not only because of Morris (though Morris could have played a large reason), but at the time IBW had its best roster since OBW times. Big names like the Sinclair Brothers, Colt Williams, and Parker (who wasn't the star he is today) were around, "Franchise Superstars" were the big dollar names. Mike Solomon, John Morris, Ayden Starr, and Michael Stark all produced huge sales and were considered to be the icons of IBW. If IBW could somehow top their current max average with less "franchise stars", then it shows that the company can flip any situation. The company is still far away from achieving this milestone, but it is actually possible.

  • And on the note of "Franchise Superstars", the current list of top Merch sellers is (in no order) Super Krmi, James Parker, Task Force 607 (as a whole). Ayden isn't believed to be at the numbers she once was at due to her lack of competition. The Sinclair Brothers are close in hitting the level of Franchise, but they haven't quite hit their mark. They're consistent names who sell a decent amount, but they haven't found something special to get the IBW Galaxy behind them. Or, another possible explanation is that they shift around too much, and thus nobody wants to buy their merchandise. This problem plagued John Morris while he was in OBW, but after solving the problem he went on to sell record amounts.

  • IBW Ticket numbers were lower than last week, but are expected to raise sales by 18% next week!

The Matches

  • While OBW hardcore fans might give the first match of the night the 'vanilla match' tag, it was an extremely successful opening match. Nobody got shoved through a barricade, or brainbustered onto the apron, or even tossed out of the ring in a superplex. IBW is GLADLY transitioning into a more calmed down show feel, and it's a good thing, because that means when extreme things do occur, they're more hype. Cole Thunder went over big time.

  • Decent interview from Sawyer. I'd say a bit corny at points, and forcefully so, but the kid has time to learn his craft.

  • Another solid wrestling match that didn't go overboard. Nothing to complain about, truly. I don't think Brian necessarily went over with the crowd too much, but it's at least getting two superstars well established with IBW Crowds.

  • Gotta say, was a bit hype for Rattik returning. Though I am a bit concerned with how a superstar like Rattik will compete for the White Championship, but I'm sure IBW knows what they're doing. Should be fun. Decent exchange from Dray and Emeralds, and I'd like to think those two are going to advance to bigger stars.

  • Pretty easy set-up for Hamish vs. Dallas. This got a bit of negative reviews, but I think it was fine. It was an easy match set up, and some may even say lazy, but it's better than forcing something on the IBW Crowd.

  • Hawke and Sawyer was the match everyone wanted it to be, and BECAUSE IBW stopped doing hardcore spots all throughout the show, this one shined a bit. It also wasn't overly extreme... which was different, but satisfying, to see from IBW.

  • Pretty decent tag match, despite everyone knowing who was going over. Really can't complain about this one, as WWE does stuff like this all the time. Still not a bad match!

  • THEN MOST HYPE MOMENT OF NIGHT PROBABLY! Snickers return! Snickers is a good thing for IBW, as anytime she's got a BIG role in something, ratings tend to go up. The Drama Queen and IBW's Classic returns! IBW knew exactly what they were doing with her.

  • Bit confused as to why Heel authority vs. Heel Superstar is a thing... But nonetheless.... A match to advance the feud. Bit excited to see the final match, but currently not all that much so to see the hype. It's one of those things you just want a fast-forward remote on. But then again, when WWE had John Laurinitis convert heels, they went over pretty quickly as faces, so maybe we can see IBW replicate that with Darnell Jackson.

  • Ultraviolent Rules Match? From a nobody who lost a No Holds Barred Match? Bit of an odd challenge. Not sure I'm liking it, truthfully. Especially because not even big names get into those kinds of matches anymore. And I swear if this starts the revival of the hardcore belt I'm quitting my job.

  • Pretty cool to see Pandora go over Task Force. I hope we get more elaboration on whether or not Pandora is face or not. Because at the moment, it's odd. Especially since they're trying to make Pandora face, and last time something like that happened in wrestling, you had comedic Kane. Pandora doesn't seem like she'll be a good monster turned comedic, so I HOPE IBW plays their cards right.

  • Pretty cool to see an actually good wrestling match, and have signs of Ayden's heeldom come out. Pretty excited to see where Ayden goes from here, and I already said I'm excited about Emeralds' future.

  • Task Force Split-up Over International Belt? Odd choice, but excited to see how this plays out. My guess is it comes down to a SHIELD like faction with Ghost, Odyssey, Preacher, and Relic against Evergreen and Snickers duo. Should be interesting if it goes down that way.

  • Pretty good Main Event, glad to see it wasn't really set like Krmi vs. Parker, but more a two-on-two. Good match, good match.

  • Hype staredown is a money closing shot

Looking Forward:

  • Fans (and myself) want it to be more clear who we root for. Currently everyone in IBW is doing that Lucha Underground thing where they're at least somewhat face when it comes to crowd reactions (except for big bad heel faction). Do something about this. Define your faces and heels more, even in the undercard.

  • Keep up the hype! Though some might say it's a tad bit short, and they'd rather have 4 normal sized promos than 8 shortened down ones. It could come off as "just doing anything they can to release content for $$$".

  • Do something with the Sinclair Brothers. But I wouldn't have them challenge for the Tag Belts. You have good momentum with Sinclair Brothers, and unless they're going face (Which strangely, I could see working EXTREMELY well), do something else with them. Make sure they have a spot at the Pay Per View, because I think this time around, as long as they don't do anything stupid, it'll be their best.

  • There's been a lot of talk about the undercard guys putting in amazing quality work. If you put in MINOR feuds, I think you'll be able to pull some nice stuff off. Even if it just comes with a best of 5. There's been some talk that some fans are wanting Cruiserweight or other types of belts, but really that was the intention with the White Championship. John Morris has proposed a Weekly White Championship match being the opener of every (or every other) Collision, which seemed to get a bit of fan support, especially since it's an Undercard Title.

  • Work on dialogue. A good bit of IBW wrestlers need to get better at their speaking roles. If that happens, they can move up to star levels (and make IBW one of the better wrestling companies today).

  • Keep playing your cards right as a whole.

"It's Complicated."

"I wouldn't say that."

"I absolutely would."
