Dirtsheet Exclusive: Examining the Morris Lineup
Topic Started: Jul 7 2017, 11:50 PM (655 Views)
John Morris
In-SPEAR-ational

  • Today we will be looking at the most recent Collision and we'll be examining what all John Morris has in store for the upcoming PPV he has an online petition to change the name to "MorrisMania".
  • Some weird stuff with a Kid from the 80's, an upcoming high-flyer, and a monster. I'm not quite sure how this is going to go over, but it seems like it could be a fun thing with some high flyers and a big guy to slow down the pace.
  • While I doubt it will continue, we saw a guest appearance from our lovely chair! It needed a shoutout.
  • We've currently got Vincent fighting someone new. Confused to see where they're going with him.
  • There's the big triple threat thing with the contract. That's bringing in some viewers as they're showcasing new talent in a pretty sweet way.
  • This whole Anarchy Inc. thing is fun as hell. We get to see some wacky staff, which could be for some interesting shows.
  • This whole Marshall vs. D.S. gamer thing is fun. It's got a different section of the crowd hype, but for those non-gamers, D.S. and Dickmany are playing $$$ Heels.
  • FKA Trent looks like it might be interesting. Morris himself has told us he's working on this one to make it be something other midcarders decide to mimic in terms of goofiness.
  • Then we get to the bigger stuff. We have that big 4 v 4 feud with the Apocalypse vs. Chad and his Cheesy Bunch. It's a big serious feud, with a lot of potential to go over. It puts some definition in our upper mid card and our main event. It's also using a LOT of older talent (Ayden, Bowens, Lafron), to train the newer guys (Carnages, Hall), so it's going to be a good way to showcase everyone off. We have Ayden Starr and Lafron returning to relevancy, which is something they both deserved.
  • Then we get to the big guns. Mizo vs. Niko. John Morris has stated this is his big push for $$$. "The only reason this isn't our main event is because it isn't for the world belt. But really, in our "star-less" age, this is my savior." This is something big to come.
  • Morris' big story push is that he does actual angles. We have a lot of stuff that could be fun, or personal, and they probably will mostly last more than a month. Don't expect stuff like Mizo v Niko to end anytime soon.
  • Also. When asked about needing a new James Parker, Morris responded with "... But why? Parker was great and all at a point in time, but he lowered ratings towards the end. We are picking up to where he was at his peak. We're projected at the next Pay-Per-View to get to one of the highest viewer turnouts we have since the rebranding."
  • Morris is fiddling with the PPV schedule. Luckily most of his changes are for future things.
  • Morris is still pushing a world tour.
  • Morris is actually willing to go two months without a world champion. That's something that doesn't normally happen, since a world champion is typically what brings in a good chunk of viewers.
  • Merch sales have reached their highest since IBW Roster is relying on 'em.
  • All in all, I would say he's doing a good job. After the sudden ball that was dropped with big names leaving and the General Manager from before having an unknown issue backstage, John is trying to make his director's vision still come true. And he's on his way there.

"It's Complicated."

"I wouldn't say that."

"I absolutely would."
