You are absolutely right 'turbo'. This issue of totally unfair contracts and performance measures have gone on long enough. The legislation did not contain enough protections for workers in this kind of employment arrangement. It has been difficult to establish a clear legal way forward, one of those reasons was that we did not know whether the protective amendments would pass without modification through the Senate. As it is all of the amendments got through and this legislation is now much stronger and much clearer in its intent to protect subbies who want to be contractors and with more protections it may be worthwhile as long as the issues of workers comp and superannuation are resolved. We still say that this method of employment is more employee/employer but with a more level playing field and added protection subbies may be able to have a decent working life free of all the stress that ISGM have placed upon them. You have to stick together to win and we are confident that we will win. If you don't fight you lose and no one should be signing that appalling contract and giving up their legal rights.
