MEDIA & PUBLICITY Stella is pretty much a nobody in the public eye, but has a small reputation among the more villainous metas for running them down in the streets. Naturally, nonmetas see this as helpful, but with metas not so much. PRIMARY — INTUITIVE REPLICATION Stella absorbs all meta powers within a certain radius of herself. Upon absorption, the powers are turned on until she regains enough control to reign them in. She will have an innate understanding of the ability and be around the same level of power as the original user. Abilities she's absorbed before are easier to control. As soon as the original user leaves her radius, the power is put on a clock and will vanish after a few hours. The longer she's with the user, the longer the clock will last. SECONDARY — HEALING FACTOR Just before, during, and after absorbing an ability, Stella's healing factor will switch on in order to protect her from any degeneration or danger the abilities could cause. The strength of the healing varies greatly, and depends on the perceived danger of the power itself - someone with combustion manipulation would have a huge regeneration rate, whereas a simple mind reader would give her barely anything. TERTIARY — META KNOWLEDGE Stella naturally understands the abilities she's had before and how they work, but more than that, her line of work gives her extensive knowledge of meta abilities. She understands physics, chemistry and biology enough to piece together how most powers work and how to counter them. If required, she has access to files of metas (and their powers) that have committed offences in the past, in order to aid her work. STRENGTHS Stella easily matches the metas she deals with, and is generally in little danger from them. She keeps her composure fairly well, being acutely aware that she's representing her government. She has average connections within the government and can pull meta files as needed, largely due to the specialisation of her job. Being on the government's side also allows her to call in a team of agents to take down metas she deems too volatile or dangerous (within reason). Outside of her abilities, she's efficient at spotting meta behaviour. WEAKNESSES Her job keeps her strictly out of combat, so despite the powers she gets, she can't actually go into combat with them. Stella's powers mean she absorbs every power without discrimination - this can result in sudden debilitation in the case of physical mutations, such as French Satan. It also means suddenly being in a room with a bunch of metas is overwhelming enough to make her volatile and unable to focus on using a single power. She is, essentially, nothing without her powers. A nonmeta could easily take her out if they felt like it. She has an problem with alcoholism, and a night where she hasn't had at least one drink is a bad night. HOBBIES Stella works long enough hours that she isn't awarded much time for hobbies. She likes to read and is a chronic doodler; she doesn't have any actual artistic talent, but all her books have marked up margins. In the last couple of weeks, she's taken to reading to the thing that keeps showing up in her apartment. She never fully left the homeless mentality, and any time she enters a shop she tends to eyeball the exits and cameras and check what would be easiest to take. She will never take a case file home with her, preferring to memorise the details herself because she doesn't trust New York not to ransack her place. Will never, ever listen to music, she finds it too distracting. Prefers not to shake hands with people, lest she risk gaining an ability. Stella loves playing noughts and crosses for no goddamn reason but she usually just ends up playing herself. FEARS Stella fears returning to a state of homelessness and unemployment and becoming a parent herself. She's afraid of heights, commitment, volatile powers, physical powers, the government and nonmetas to a degree. MORALITY — LAWFUL NEUTRAL Stella works for the US government. She does what they tell her to. Her opinions on the matters are irrelevant. She's fine with that. Outside of work, she has little do with the good/evil side of things. Sentinel's great for meta relations, Nemesis not so much, but she doesn't involve herself because she doesn't want to. She's quite happy being on the government's side. ![]() MISC At all times, Stella wears a specialised government-issued bracelet that can limit her absorption radius. Unless she's out on a job, she usually keeps this to the minimum of 5cm so her daily life isn't too heavily impacted by her powers. She has a small apartment she lives in and earns very little, but she's always coped well with not having much to eat. Her apartment is dotted with pot plants, but they're all dead.
