Club Meetings; Sugested Format for Meetings

I attended several meetings and have observed a problem in hearing what is being discussed. This is ment as constructive suggestions only, as I am really impressed how well the club is doing. My suggestions are as follows:

1 Use Roberts Rules of Order as a rough guide, but not as a formal thing.
2 Close the bar during the meeting.
3 Only have club officiers at the bar.
4 Seat all members at least 10 ft from the bar.
5 Seat all children with their parents to prevent distractions.
6 A meeting should last about 30 minutes and before and after the meeting can be used for social activities. Possibly a guest speaker could address the members (Sled Dealer, Law Enforcement, County or State Club Representives, etc.) for about 15 minutes.

I would be glad to help in anyway I can to make the meetings go smoothly and talk to the club officiers.

Respectfully,
Don Skelly

Don those are some very good points. The past two meetings have just been crazy with the kids running around and playing in the back of the room. And I have also noticed that with every one seated at the bar the club members sitting at the tables cann't hear what there talking about. I argree that only the officers should be the only ones near the bar. The only thig that I really got out of this months meeting is that there are police patrolling the trails near the lanterns. I dont plan on attendind many more meeting untill things change because it is a waste of time for me at this point when I can not hear what is going on. IMO.
